The Delta State government has said that over N20bn has been expended on the execution of people-oriented and standard projects across the state as well as making sure that the impact of democracy is delivered to the people. This was disclosed yesterday by the Commissioner for Special Infrastructure; Mrs. Orezi Esiovo, during the ongoing ministerial press briefing held at the conference hall of the Ministry of Information, Asaba. She said so far government has embarked on the rehabilitation of and renovation of 50 primary and secondary schools at the cost of N7, 776,329,522.71.

The special infrastructure commissioner enumerated other special projects to include, the construction and equipping of 10 model primary schools at the cost N3, 682, 962,194.14; construction and equipping of mother and child care centres, Warri and Ekpan at the cost of N1,503,663,486.67 and N492,229,191.38, as well as remodeling, rehabilitation and equipping of Baptist Hospital, Eku at the cost N2,649,414,154.03 and the construction of four new Polytechnics at Sapele, Aboh, Bomadi and Abigborodo at the cost of N4bn.
