Look at it this way: there've been discoveries of Commercial Oil in Neighbouring Countries like Chad, Niger (started Refining last year), Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Cameroon, even close rivals Ghana... Now, couldn't there be the possibility of Crude Oil in the North? and that they could have realized this buh, be hidding it or discouraging any exploration attempt? Or maybe they're not willing to share it with "One Nigeria" only for the North, at their own biding!
Most of the Environmental and weather conditiotions (Geology) of some of the above mentioned Countries are the same as that of the Northern island Basins, hence, there "Must" be Oil, Commercialy in the North.....
Two things could be the issues here!
1: either the FG is not looking at the posibility of this fact, i.e. Oil in the North... Or
2: the North, for political reasons best known to them, are discouraging such exploration, hidding something or simply keeping it for a time best known to them!
Solution: the FG should employ modern Crude Oil Exploration Technology through the NNPC on these Basins found in the North- There's Oil there, there must be, Certainly! Or what do you think?

So much has been written, said and analyzed on Ngozi Okonjo Iweala's candidacy for World Bank President and what it means for the international community, but it seems there has been little emphasis on what ordinary Nigerians really feel about this issue. What do you think about NOI's candidacy for the world bank? Do you feel it is high time an African woman took over the reigns of the World Bank? Do you feel Ngozi's skills and expertise are more needed in Nigeria? Pls express yourself and take part in this short survey here: http://svy.mk/GW4nDU
