Rattled by the recent threat to its government during the week by the dreaded Boko Haram sect, the ruling PDP has called on security agencies to ask Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, his mission to a North African country a few days ago, even as it warns against his romance with extremists. The party is specifically worried that the governor launched his campaigns in Osun State with a document he called “the Green Book” patterned after Ghaddafi’s Green Book.

The South West PDP in a statement issued by its Zonal Publicity Secretary, Hon Kayode Babade, said it strongly suspects that Aregbesola could be working for some groups with links to extremist organisations in the Magreb. The party said shortly after the much publicised birthday celebration of Senator Bola Tinubu, Aregbesola with another top ranking leader of his party sneaked out of the country to a North African state and came back the third day, adding that security agencies should probe the trip, coming at a time the country was facing security challenges from all sides.

“We also want this man to explain his links with the ousted government of Muammar Ghaddafi of Libya and whether it was just a sheer coincidence that he launched his campaigns in Osun State with a document he called “the Green Book” patterned after Ghaddafi’s Green Book.
“We also want him to explain what informed his government’s decision to introduce one single uniform for all public primary and secondary schools in Osun State and why it is a sin for teachers and civil servants not to sing his own ‘anthem’, which he has used to replace the national anthem.

While insisting that the party’s concern went beyond political considerations, the statement said, “Security agencies in the country should also show more than a passing interest in the suspicious movement of helicopters into and out of Osun Government House at odd hours. We believe some funny moves are going on there,” the party said.

“There are three other ACN governors in the South West that are Muslims. They have largely shown some decorum in matters of religion. We fear that with the way the man in Osun is carrying on, Nigeria and particularly Yorubaland could be endangered,” the PDP said.

The PDP should back their allegations with facts. What they are doing right now is nothing more than a smear campaign. When is ravelling to an unnamed African country tantamount to an illegal activity that warrants a probe? Is the SW PDP this re.tarded? Maybe they should all join a circus and spare us this childish charade. Bloody clowns

My brother, people generally have facts before summoning the fearful security services (who seem to have swung into action already anyway). This whole thing is spiralling wildly, who knows where it will end?

Nobody plays games at this level.

Dread.

You 'll be waiting forever. What they don't realize is that they are biting more than they can chew! Aregbesola is up to the task. His intellectual political capacity and vision of governance is only a dream to the PDP government nationwide. The political jobbers are afraid of success, as they have always been, but this time success will sweep them away with the dust of history.

The lies that the "nematodes" that make up PDP tell themselves when they emerge from pit latrines in the night.

ACN and Aregbesola will sue them for defamation.

Right, the man seems to have an agenda to create his own mini cuba, that ACN has not called him to order is just indicative of the rot in that party. The security services should do an indepth investigation of the man. He even looks shifty.

If the allegations against aregbesola are true,it will have serious repercussions on SW.It reminds me of afonja/ilorin story. This islamic group of BGs owned by aregbesola may become a big threat or even transform itself into a bokoharam/alqaeda arm in the SW or affiliated group to alqaeda.
It is only a matter of time before islamic fundamentalism takes root in SW.It is already being introduced by people like aregbesola.

If the allegation is true, i think i support Aregbe on this one. This country sucks and the earlier we all get out the better, my only fear is that Osun state is landlocked and movement of a foreign invading army or mercenary is not possible without the connivance of other border states like Oyo, Ondo and Ogun.

Shut up silly bigot. [b]Show anywhere in the World where Christians and Moslems live in peace and harmony like in the Yoruba region.
Some of you will just open your bigoted mouths , ignore the truth and the facts on the ground, to pander to the big chip you have on your shoulder against Yoruba people. Revising history fraudulently is not beyond you lot. Aregbesola, as is usual with most Yorubas to include many of us here, even states emphatically that he has many Christians as direct family member. Tinubu, despite beign Moslem, is married to a christian woman. Ditto for Fashola.

You people should take Panadol for your own region and stop creating imagined problems for the SW that defy the reality on the ground and totally misrepresents how the average Yoruba is. I am Christian and one of my closest friend is Yoruba moslem. We have never discussed religion in the two decades we have being friends because religious extremism is alien to Yoruba folks. That is how Yoruba folks are ,in reality, so take your nonsense elsewhere. If Nigeria was not full of unrepentant haters like you, we should all be united in telling the PDP that enough is enough. They are going too far here.

When hatred and a darkly malevolent desire for 'revenge' has damaged folks like you, why will anyone expect you to act like a human being for once and stand for what is decent, moral and ethical?

Is it today the PDP has been lying shamelessly against Aregbesola? They asked him to account for 100 billion accrued to Osun 11 months when even a casual glance at official data shows the real amount is not even half of that !!! Next Aregbesola is sponsoring terrorist to Cuba when the reality is that this is an initiative of cultural and linguistic exchange Aregbesola supported even before becoming Governor !!!! Shamelessly, they accuse him of freeing those imprisoned without trial for many year (even when he is entitled to do so) with the insinuation that the ACN and Aregbesola may be connected with the original murder !!!!

Clearly, there is no decency in folks like you. If not you will recognise when it is time to put visceral enmity aside to speak in favour of what is right. The PDP are very desperate and the reason for their desperation is obvious. They know all ACN Governors will perform well enough to ensure they don't have future access to the treasury of SW States. This is the motivation for their lies and mischief.

As for the anthem BS, Ogun state has had an anthem for as long as I can remember does that mean they're seceding too?

Shut up. Are you not the same person who wrote what is quoted below or do you think I am speaking based on your antics here alone? Some of you must think others are dullards ,like you, with no memory of your general posting pattern and bigoted drivel. Try something else because this your current effort of tagging the SW with infamy defies commonsense since everyone knows that the exemplary religious tolerance of the SW is not a myth. It is reality. To that end, the religous extremism you are praying will "take root" in the SW will only happen in your hateful mind.

yoruba can never change.its impossible.they are the ones pulling southern nigeria backward.this useless thread is meant for the back page.

Once nigeria breaks up come 2015,a christian crusade should be launched to wipe out all hausa/fulani/kanuni from the SE, SS,plateau, southern kaduna, benue, nasarawa, eastern kogi, taraba, southern adamawa.any moslems in SE and SS should be wiped out.the use of external loudspeakers at places of worship should be outlawed with necessary anti-noise laws, building religious houses as part of residential houses should also be outlawed, wearing veils/hijab in public should be prohibited.
A partnership of SE,SS and the MB states mentioned above should be formed to chase these islamic monkeys up to kano and katsina. A christian crusade is long overdue.

We south-westerners have a bond that cannot be broken by PDP party mischief.

I am a Yoruba xtian, born in Britain, schooled in Naija and America, and I love all my peaceful muslim brethren like Aregbesola, Tinubu, Fashola etc etc

They seem to have more to offer the country than kelptocratic Christians like Ibori, Uduaghan, Imoke, Akpabio and the likes...
