Deaths In Apapa Night Club Caused By Drunk Mopols

Time was 4am thereabout. Venue was MONALIDO night club. CHAIRMAN had gone night clubbing with some gun wielding MOPOL officers in tow. Having had enough for the night, he decided to leave the club but not without making a huge statement. He then proceeded to dole out wads of crisp Naira notes to the hordes that thronged about him.

The officers, already high on ALOMO mixed with whatever, suddenly remembered that they were duty bound to shield CHAIRMAN from the crowd that pressed on him. Guns drawn and cocked, they fired a few salvoes of shots to scare the crowd. But alcohol is a poor coordinator; and it did just that.

Awkwardly, one MOPOL allowed the gun to drop, a semi-automatic gun at that. Hell was let loose as the gun went on rampauge discharging its lethal contents on those around.

CHAIRMAN,s lady take home for the night was the first casualty. Bullet pierces her throat, exits behind her head. A friend was next hit in the back. Two others had bullet wounds to their limbs but survived.

Everybody else made rapid dialogues with their feet, including also the CHAIRMAN.

Trigger-happy policemen kill party-goers

Four police officers attached to the Lagos State Anti-robbery Squad (SARS), Ikeja, have been arrested following the alleged shooting and killing of two persons at a night-club in Apapa.

The incident occurred over the weekend when the police officers, accompanying an unidentified but suspected wealthy man, shot indiscriminately at a club called Monalido.

The police officers were said to have fled the scene after stray bullets allegedly killed two persons at the club.

Police sources identified the officers as two inspectors and two corporals, but refused to disclose their names.

Police spokesperson, Joseph Jayeioba, confirmed the incident, saying that the case is under investigation.

@knotty Nice report, you remind me of Teju Cole, a US based Nigerian writer. He reports news that way also, using metaphors( I don't even know which is which) and all that.

As for the news, sad story. I hope justice is served and RIP to those who (lemme try my own Teju Cole) bought a one way ticket to the great beyond.

NOTICE: To trolls, I mean no disrespect, really sorry about those who died.

I like the writing style; interweaving metaphor with indirect speech.

If the story had ended there, sad as it would have been, not much lessons would have been learnt.

LAGOON HOSPITAL

The other person that died was someone I knew passingly.
He was hit on the back and did not die on the spot. He held on to life, as though his life depended on it, of course, it did.

His friends around were able to spirit him to LAGOON HOSPITAL, a distance of 500meters away. Seeing his condition, the hospital hurriedly admitted and put him on oxygen. His friends at this point were relieved and in high spirit that JAGABAN was going to pull through, once again. They never knew LAGOON HOSPITAL takes care of the bare necessities and not a penny more, not a penny less.

The hope of survival dimmed when in no time LAGOON HOSPTITAL flashed a deposit bill of 1.3m on the friends, on a Sunday morning. The terse message was pay this deposit before further treatment can be administered. In a cashless Lagos, and on a Sunday how were they, in Jove,s name, going to raise that kind of money.
Well, they scurried hither thither and raised 800,000 which was paid to the Hospital. That money did not touch the right cord, it did not melt their hardened heart. All or nothing was their stance.

The friends were still running from pillar to post to raise the balance 500,000 when the man died at 6pm right in the hospital without receiving Panadol Extra.
When the family members requested that the deposited 800,000 should be returned since they did not provide any treatment, LAGOON HOSPITAL reminded them that on the receipt issued to them is a clause: ANY MONEY PAID TO THIS HOSPITAL IS NON-REFUNDABLE.

Isnt there a way Hospitals can treat critical ill patient and recover the money from the Govt?

I think medical insurance should be made compulsory and these capitalist model for healthcare should be thrown out for good!

Seems some hospital doctors motto: is do no harm Do not treat
surely you cant get money off someone that is dead, wont it be better to save his life then make sure they recover the cost

this country sef

u obviously think wt yr a$$, and know next to nothing about insurance scheme.
The hospital is run by administrators who employ doctors and allied workers.
The patient was stabilized way past d 1st golden hour of severe trauma and eventually died. The required surgical fees could hav been guaranteed by d patint's insurance cover or the usual out-of-pocket payment routine in 9ja.

I'm very sure the doctors themselves cannot afford d fees and would hav suffered d same fate and tragedy.
Do u expect him or her to use is minimum wage to foot d bill ?. And u come here to rant and vomit rubbish and display ignorance. eediot

As for d 800k, how much do u think is d cost of life-support machine, ct scan , mri investigations done on the deceased? I really don't know and i think d friends shud find out and reconcile wt d accounts dept.for necessary refund later.

Another option available was Gov Fashola's Hospitals who cud hav operated for less than 200,000 but alas he already sacked d doctors.
I hope d drunk mopol were let loose on yr a$4$hole.
