I own a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee and so far its been good . . .no issues. Looking to service it soon . . .any suggestion as to the appropriate gear transmission oil to use? . . .responses from Jeep gurus will be appreciated.

we can actually and sincerely rely on the experience of the users than the opinion of those that are just dislike american cars for no reason.
judging by the review of the user, i think the jeep is averagely OK.

The resale value is not good...even in the US although parts are cheap. Why?...they are gas guzzlers...just like the Hummer....always on sale at low prices.

I don't know about being good for bad terrain roads...never heard about that. But...I think they probably good for hauling stuff and ploughing snow...seen that a lot.

Depends on what grade (mileage it has)you are looking for, a used one might be ~$400-700 for the 42re(I6) and the 545fre(V8)~$200 more, a rebuilt will go from $1300-$2300 for.

For jeeps you either like it or hate it.

I use a Limited V8 and the electronics that comes with it is not available with the Toyota .Style is better than the Toyota too because Grand Cherokee is actually a Luxurious model.

With more electronics comes the opportunity for more glitches.Parts are cheaper than Toyota, they sell more of them than Toyota and Honda, used ones are cheaper because, Africans,Arabs and buyers from all over the world pay more for Toyota and Honda at auctions to inflate used value price when compared to Mitsubishi and other Korean brands.

It will be cheaper for me to buy a 2003 Jaguar than Honda/Toyota for the same reason.

Read this post from a long time ago, Then 4Runner was champ when the first Pilot was listed it became the most popular suv since.Car sites rate cars each year and the pilot won for a while when it was new, but now Ford Edge is the most popular out there followed by the jeep.

Look at the sale numbers of competitors and you might see why I said they may stop making them, Nigerians are still stuck way in the past, compare the numbers to that of the competitors and model changes you will see there is a problem

this is what i do, i try to wash my mouth when i eat or drink anythin, i mean anything, then when u eat food at home or in a restaurant, wash your mouth before yu stand up from that seat. never allow particle in your teeth, it helps a lot

What I mean is every model year has a weakness somewhere and its usually fixed in the next model year, but in a bid to make the car better manufacturers add more gizmos that might increase the possibility another glitch that will be fixed in the next model year. Some problems show up years later like Honda transmission problems Toyota's engine sludge, and Mercedes electronic nightmare. If you search on MSN Autos you will see the problem off each model
