The just concluded FEC meeting at least had some cheering news for NIgerians who are gradually tending towards a life of doom and gloom. In it's resolution,the FEC approved new housing policy for NIgerians. The minister of Housing and Urban Development, AMA PEPPLE while addressing the press said that they are looking at a minimum of one million houses per annum and a minimum of 500 housing units for any developer that joins in the venture. She went further to talk about the establishment of SOCIAL HOUSING for those very low income earners and those that cannot afford housing. The state governors have a huge role to play in the growth of this venture if they ae willing to donate land and assist in infrastructure. This will massively address housing problems in Nigeria and deliver on the transformation agenda and breathe of fresh air promised by this Jonathan Administration.

A great step in the right direction. I have never lost faith in this administration.

It's a nice initiative,and will really go a long way in alleviating the housing problem we are having in Nigeria,but it will only be very effective if they pay close attention to it and put credible people to monitor it's development,this will prevent all these corrupt and evil minded developers from hijacking the project.
