MojAyo:
hello,I'm using 5 and half spoon for my baby feeding per meal(cerelac),hope its nt too small, cos I was surprised when I saw 14spoons per meal for ur baby, though my baby seems satisfied by it,he has past 8month,going to click 9month soon,is dat normal, tanx
It actually depends on your baby's cravings. My LO doesn't eat 14spoons everytime...& also, not in a serving...after eating 8spoons @ 1st serving & (if) he protests, 4-6spoon serving would b prepared for him. It could be because he likes d cereal as he eats that quantity only when cereal(either Cerelac/Wheat Frisogold) or pap (guinea corn+soya+millet combo) is prepared. He takes just one bowl/serving of only corn pap.

moderately heaped is OK. My wife uses either tablespoon or my LO's feeding spoon. When she uses LO's spoon, instinct is the key as per d ratio of feed to water & your LO determines how much you prep for him & his preferred texture (thick/light). @8/9mths, my son wouldn't b satisfied till he gets about 14spoons per meal & prefers it moderately thick....so we didn't later stick with d prep table.
14 SPOONS PER MEAL, wow! ur LO dey chop o!Mayb i ll increase my babby's own too. lol

Mumpresh: I'm not sure there's any supplement for that that doesn't have its disadv. It even depends on d kinda weight you want for your baby....muscular weight or "fat weight". You don't need to disturb yourself about weight so long she's eating healthily(balanced diet). That could be her natural self! My parent are chubby but i'm not!

moniella, you can start using nido. it is also a product of nestle. i switched my son to nido when i used peak 123 and he was stooling after nan 2.

wendy 80, i guess this reply might be coming late. but beecham amocilin has a good taste for antibiotics.

Ijeoma2728, my lil man was like that too. nothing bad in late teeth. teething is by genetics. if u had your teeth late, my child might do so as well.

6xtyA, you should have gotten pcm, lonart and amoxilin. those are d basic treatment for malaria for a child. dont leave malaria in your child o. also try and get a mosquito net. it is very economical.

mojayo, abeg watch the way you give pcm to ur baby. indiscriminate use of pcm affects babies liver.

one love.

Hmmmm my dear moms & dads.. abeg mk una helep me oooo
C me dat was rejoicing dat my LO happily accepted cereal.. He has refused to take it for 2 days now I force-fed him amidst plenty cries and serious struggling. Na me & DH hold am o bt hin energy pass our own. I felt so sorry for him after last night's ordeal-he actually hurt his lip from biting down to avoid eating embarassed but took d brreast milk o! Been giving d frisogold rice cereal and started d pap last night wt frisolac gold milk.

I really don't know what's up because I took him for a general check at d hospital on Friday and d paed said he's doing well, did a malaria test & I was shocked when it showed + cos he's mostly covered with net & sleeps under net besides he wasn't running temp or d likes. Was given drugs- antimalarial, VitC, PCM & Amoxicillin wch is also a struggle for him to take.

On Saturday, he's stooled 2x wch was strange. Yst, he stooled once but wen he farts, little poo comes out.

I'm wondering if it's d cereal or d drug he's reacting to sad
Thanks.

@Vicky: well done, mama. As regards the frisogold, maybe you should buy another flavour or brand....don't add milk @ first (even to d pap), he might not like (d) milk. His rejection of food except b.milk might not be unconnected with the malaria; endeavour to treat d malaria first to know what's really d issue. As of now, keep b.feeding him & if you're using spoon to administer d medics, use droppers instead. You might as well administer d medics in-between feeding.

Does he eat other foods? If he does, then we could conclude that he does not like the cereal....try custard if he's >8months.

If they do, that's OK. It must have been d needed/safe quantity...adding refined sugar to their meal isn't good. When you get them used to sweet things now, their palate will crave for sweet things & that's not good....it also affects the process of teething & tooth eventually. My opinion though, which is based on what I've read & advised by dentist.

Good. That's how they start...little by little.... Keep trying. He might also want to play while eatn too. My son sometimes won't eat if he's restricted but would do if he's free. There were days he won't eat if his mum try feeding him with another spoon/bowl until she changes to his desired one. Also, maybe your hubby should try feeding him sometimes....if he has a fav toy, give him while attempting to feed him. Make feeding be fun to him - in any way possible.
These are some things we do when my son starts his "funny act".
