Hello mamas, my baby has refused to take breast milk since I started lactating she prefers the instant formula and she's just 2weks 5days. What can I do to make her sucks cos she's rejecting the breast. I'm a FTM

Pele.
Some babies never really suckle from their moms.
Continue to put her to breastt especially at night/ overnight.

65 EARLY YEARS TIPS YOU NEED TO KNOW.

1. Develop your child's writing skills by encouraging them to make a mark with crayons, chalk even sticks in the mud.
2. Lead by example and show how important it is to wash your hands thoroughly.
3. Ask young children to find objects for you or name body parts and objects.
4. Sudden, loud noises often startle toddlers. Try to explain the cause of noises to keep calm to reassure them.
5. Develop your child's writing skills by encouraging them to copy you when you write.
6. Remember to teach action words(verbs) as well as the name of things (nouns).
7. Develop your child's maths skills by getting them to find everyday objects which are squares, circles or triangles.
8.It is easier to enjoy your new baby and be a positive, loving parent when you are feeling good yourself.

13.Engage with children on their level, not yours.
14. Encourage your child to tell you his name and age.
15. If you are concerned about a child's speech, refer to speech and language therapy sooner rather than later.

Mama twins sorry about what you're going through. I also expereienced this with one of my twins around that age too. After trying all sorts like you did, my last resort was to get abidec. I was giving it to only the twin rejecting food and that helped him to eat whatever comes his way,no selection. That was what i did at that time when i was about resuming and it helped.

Thanks my fellow twin mama I tried the syringe method yesterday and it was better however I think I should worry less cos when I checked their weight today at 12 weeks she weighed 5.5kg while her twin weighed 6kg meaning she is still adding weight even without food I just fear what will happen in crèche. Thanks to everybody that contributed

Good day Mamas,

I'm officially joining this thread after peeping and learning while pregnant.

I'm not lactating well for my 7 days baby. He eats about 30Mls of formula every 2hrs after I have breastfed him.

Pls how can I increase lactation soon? I drink pap and water a lot.

Is the quantity of food not too much for his age?

Pls help a FTM

Thank you

Welcome on board new mummy smiley smiley

Don't worry about food quantity for a newborn... just feed on demand...leave measurement matter alone

Again, you need to understand that you are still getting a hang of breastfeeding! so don't expect express flow! The truth is breastfeeding is hard at the very beginning but once you master it, you are good to go!

For you to lactate well,
1. You need to put your mind at rest. stress reduces milk production
2. Eat well
3. Breast feed often, that will trigger the brain that more milk needs to be produced
4. Drink a lot of water! any time you are breast feeding, have a bottle of water next to you..as you are breastfeeding, you are drinking
5. Oats is also good to take

if all these fail, look for fenugreek or lactation cookies

What stories?? When he's not giving his consent, what do you want her to do? It should be a mutual agreement, and in all the bearer has the highest say cos she's the one going through it

@portable4real, the first thing you must understand is that it's your health and your life! He does not want you to do fp, yet he does not want to protect himself! Now this is selfish undecided undecided

My dear, be wise! walk into a primary health centre, ask for the family planning unit, they will educate you better and do whatever method that pleases you right away!

Withdrawal method is no form of family planning! You also have a life and plans to achieve! You've had 2 children, take a break and stay alive to take care of them
