its well. B4 d procedure give him pracetamol/ibrupofen and after d procedure. Keep adding olive oil to it till it falls off ( dts d rubber one) and for sometime after falling off. I guess it applies to d trad one too. All d best.

Are u doing plastibell or trad one? For the plastic u don't need to do anything. Its a simple procedure. The nurses will tell u how to look after him. Ensure you follow their guidline. I don't know much about the trad one

...aftanun ma,guess its done now,I did d trad..put vaseline on d cotton wool and cover d tip of d ehem!....5days tops...pls dnt forget to kip changin it evrytym u change his diaper...all d best ma.

I think if its the plastic one. You dont need to apply anything just giving him paracetamol every 4 hours for 3 days and you wait patiently for the plastic to fall off between 8-12 days.

I guess d olive oil is to avoid d tip to be dry. Anyways, follow d doc/nurse instructions. Lovely day to u all

Most times, these things are inevitable with babies even though we all hate it on them.

You can apply Shea butter though it would still clear off eventually.

i think d yoruba name is alefo while dermatologists say it's molluscum contagiosum..
dilute ncp in water(equal parts) & use to clean d rash after pricking it open then use mupirocin cream to rub it regularly. u can also use calamine lotion for the itch. keep at it, it will b gone within a month.

Its ok....penicillin is to guard against infections and d paracetamol for pain. Hope ur lil man is not touchy?

Its kinda normal for babies.....they say its skin shedding. Just make sure his scalp is always oiled.....you can use olive oil or coconut oil.

However.....whatever u do, dont attempt to scratch it off with comb! His skin is still tender.....avoid stories dat touch!

My fellow warfi mama, how u dey na? I can see u also gave birth to a boy. I used oilve oil for my son`s own and also gave him paracetamol but penicillin is ok too.

Each time I hear my baby's breath its as if she has cattarh that is blocking her nose. But there is no cattarh
Den as if she is snoring. Sometimes also when she is sleeping she breathes as if someone is pursuing her. Do I need to be worried.Tho I am o.
She also breathe with her mouth open as if nose is blocked

D catarrh has subsided but d cough is still persistentalthough not much, nd it makes ha throw up after feeding.

I was told to use olive oil on d ring which I did judiciously, I practically soak it at every diaper change. It fell off less than a week, after which I started applying penicillin to it. It has healed now and so neat.

My baby have 'eela', dunno d English name for it. A woman said I shd use carat medicated soap for it, wouldn't it be too harsh for a six week old.
And I was also told to always use pile herb (agbo jedijedi) for him so as to prevent pile cos male babies always have it in them....... BN a jjc na real work o, different advices from everyone so tey person go confuse.

Well done mama. As u can see frm oda posts, oda mamas' babies also experience it. Its completely normal. As long as there s no active catarrh and she s nt coughing. Their respiratory rate s much higher dan ours. As she develops, it gets better. No need to worry at all. Cheers.

I didnt use anything for my baby's own (as directed) and it healed perfectly. Fell of at abt d 5th day ie plastibell. Children heal fast. I dont think dat paracetamol is necessary. No need to overburden d young liver.Didnt he stop crying shortly after d procedure?
