k4kenny: @ tjskii, babies no ne beans o, I'm also considering the implant. The one I'm currently using is noristerat injection, so far no weight gain or mood swings. Only thin is I've seen my period only once in the 2 months since I started. The doc took his time to ecpalin d possible side effect of hormonal contraception. I don't like the idea of renewing d injection every 2 mos, best get a longer term one

@hummingbird heard of a similar scary story where IUD was wrongly inserted in a poor lady. It led to cervical cancer and she eventually passed away. So you're right we need to be careful when considering contrapcetives.

Hnnmmm, what else can i say, each and everytime i open this thread on my fone, i always feel like the president of a nation,. Because its a thing of joy to see this thread grow to this extent. And the baby that made me open it, has also grown to be a boy, and by God's grace, as this thread keeps growing, the boy will surely grow to be a man, Insha Allah.... To all you mothers talking about FP, we settled for the natural one after considering all the risk attached to the rest options, and by God's grace i have never forget myself inside her ever since, and our boi is now 1yr and 6months. Infact it has made us to do more of the romance instead of sex all the time, and we are both happi about it...... So mothers think twice. May we all be alive to eat the fruit of our Labour IJN....

I am happy to have seen this thread even though I haven't been able to finish the whole thread before commenting. I stumbled on this when my baby had cough and catarrh last week. He couldn't sleep and he was crying, was so worried and I just Google 'baby cough' and it brought me here. I learnt the steam method with silver-bird ointment and I must tell you it worked like magic. That night my baby that usually don't sleep at night even without cough and catarrh slept for more than 6-hours at a stretch. The catarrh and the cough is going gradually and am happy at the outcome.

Concerning FP, when I asked my doctor what to do. He advised us that we should go on condom. He said it is readily available, cheap and no side effect. And that we can have another baby anytime we want to start. I discussed with hubby, he didn't seem to like the idea but looking at the angle that we just started a family and we need to have more children he agreed. My baby is just 6months and I can't cope with another baby for now. I need to grow a bit in my place of work, especially as I took in the month I got employed and it was just God's grace that I was not asked to go (you know all these private coy with their reasoning). So by God's grace I am planning to start trying when my boy is a year. I hope hubby will understand because it isn't easy. He seems to be complaining that we can't wait till then, that why can't I take in now. I am planning that is why it is called family planning. I don't even have any help about from my niece that will soon start school immediately the strike is off. I am looking for a live-in nanny. The one I had got pregnant and her hubby asked her to stop and she did that last month.

Don't worry, the Lord is your strength. I can't say I know how you feel exactly but I have an idea, I had my baby in may, when I wasny getting my periods, I was so scared until I did PT and it was negative. Don't worry, God has a plan for you, It is well.

@hummingbird the lord is your strength and he will definitely see you through. This fp issue is a serious matter oh! About a month after having my son is had an iucd implanted it made me so uncomfortable I just felt it wasn't fixed properly I went in for my 6 wks appointment. And pap smear and the nurse told me it wasn't in place and I should go see a doctor and I should do a pt. Cos I could already be pregnant u had to see me I went paranoid cos my baby was barely 9wks and dh doesn't even want to entertain the idea of another child. Luckily I wasn't pregnant but it turned out that the iucd was out of place and I'm one of the few women who can't use one and cos of health reasons I can't use anything hormonal. We have to resort to using cd and calculating. As it stands dh thinks I took the iucd out on purpose cos I want another kid.

Hello Mummies and Drs in the house, I need advice urgently to stop frequently stooling in one of my boys. Am unable to lay my hands on any antibiotics as we are currently not in Naija and pharmacies here refused to sell to me except I get a prescription. Though I travelled with medical insurance from my organization but I really don't know my way around as in going to a hospital etc and am also on a tight work schedule.
Please help with suggestions on home remedies I can use and also non prescription drugs that can stop purging in an 8m+ infant.

We'll, in my opinion, I think you should just get the baby a teething ring, something he can use to scratch the gum when it itches. I never gave my babe any medication like teething powder sha.

I agree o, just buy a teether, all these teething powders and gel are not advisable, my daughter's first teeth just came out and we didn't give her anything, just bought her a few good teethers.

Yes. My baby started scratching her gums & drooling at 3 months, but her first tooth came out just b4 8months.
Don't giv medicines because teething drugs are made with paracetamol. Just read the leaflets.

@Julicoka,i dont think u need to put on bra because the more u put it on the more it gets hard and wont allow the milk flow out.So here is what i was advised to do,i used ori to rub it (not the n****le o),dont wear bra and u will see it flowing out freely then just take some pain killers,probably paracetamol and u should be fine.U can give it a try,that's what i did.Hope it helps

diarrhea in infants is usually viral so I wouldn't advice antibiotics just yet.what u need is to replenish d fluid ur baby is losing and ORT,Oral rehydration therapy can help with dt.d satchets are sold in pharmacies.or get a plastic bottle,fill it with two coke bottles of water,add five cubes of sugar and a teaspoon of salt,mix and give d baby like 80mls when she purges,guessing ur baby is 8kg,u give 10 mils x her weight.
