My dear,my baby developed catarrh&cough lik 3wks back;went 2d paed&sh said her chest was clear dat it'l pass.Later d cattarrh went&d cough bcam so bad dat my baby cudn't sleep at nyt (worst at nyt).I had 2stay up at nyt carry her on my chest or back cos sh cud only sleep in an upright position&somtyms wil cough&vommit evrythng sh ate.Inshort eatin bcam a problm sef.Afta readin wot Warfibabe went thru wit her son havin broncholitis (if I got d spellin),I ran back 2d paedo&told her dat me I don't mind her givin my baby drugs abeg so sh finally prescribed Augmentin syrup (no cough syrup though).Within 4 days of takin d drug,d cough cleared&my baby bcam normal.Abeggi somtyms we hav 2b adamant.Tel ur dr 2prescribe somthng 4d cough ejooo

Bow leg strenghtens with time, except some severe cases. Abeg, shun de surgery issue, london is easy to say, but difficult to go. He will be in my prayers, for der is no impossibity with God. Mothers, for cough, der is dis tinture i use. I mix honey with garlic and give my babies. Its effective.

I know the thread says it is for new mums. Well, I'm a new dad to a 13month old and my wife is expecting again. She is 30weeks gone. Pls pardon me.

The thing is, I started a new job in Lagos and caught chickenpox during the induction ceremony from a new joinee coz we were holed up in the same room for a whole week. The rash became apparent on her on the last day and she got sent home. Guess the harm had been done already coz 2weeks after induction, the rash appeared on me also.

Had to send my family away for 10days to allow the rash crust over. Also, within this period, I asked my wife to ensure my son gets the vaccine. She was however told by the doctor who attended to them at the hospital in Abeokuta that there is no chickenpox vaccine in Nigeria. Imagine?

To cut the long tale, exactly two weeks after me, my 13months old is down with it. Noticed the rash 2days ago. I feel so guilty and at the same time angry. Wished I had stumbled on this thread a week ago. Would have had them go to Reddington for the shot.

I'm currently unable to sleep coz he is so uncomfortable. We were given amoxyl, paracetamol and calamine lotion at the hospital.That's all! Calamine did not work for me so I ain't bothering to discomfort him further with that. I'm using Sudocrem instead and it seems to be doing the trick. Should I still get him vaccinated? Also, my wife has never had it and she is in the 3rd trimester. I'm clueless to how to protect her.

A).Chicken pox vaccine can b scarce truthfully dats y whereva u get it,its quite expensive but wit health,there's nothing 2expensiv.I tel mothers dat if a health centre doesn't hav a vaccine,ask questions,google,look 4d vaccine elsewhere cos d air we breath is not safe 4adults not 2mention 4kids&u knw any thng wit kids can bring sleepless nyts.I'v bn seein a lot of cases of chicken pox&mumps recently&my anger is dat these mothers bring these kids 2church,exposin other children 2it.May God protect our kids anyway.
B).Ur son doesn't need 2b vaccinated anymore.My paed said dat once u catch d virus,it offers u a life tym immunity.Its good ur son was placed on Amoxyl antibiotics 2prevent complications of chicken pox.It can b discomfortin but u just hav 2wait it out.I knw wen my husbnd's nephew had it,d paed prescribed ibuprofen 4d fever;visitaplus&hydrocort cream 4d body(it helped reduce d spots on d body)&piriton 4d itchin&antibiotics too.Cos dat chicken pox can giv u sleepless nyt.My husbnd was placed on augmentin since he hasn't had it b4 but me&my daughter who got d vaccine was safe cos I myself got vaccinated in 2011 wen my collegue had chicken pox.
C).Ur wife shld talk 2her gynae.If sh has his phone no,sh shld cal him/her 2day 2ask if its neccessary 2tak antibiotics 4d sake of d unborn child.
D).Ur son wil b fine.He's covered wit d blood of Jesus.In d nxt 3days,it'l al pass.Just keep his temperature dwn.Since Sudocream is workin 4u,keep usin it but also get visita plus.It helps 2reduce d spots on d body.Let ur wife visit d dr soon.
Lastly,wen ur baby is 15mths,don't fail 2giv him MMR vaccine cos a lot of mothers ar ignorant of dat vaccine because its not recommended in a lot of immunization centres.Yet a lot of kids ar havin MUMPs whch causes impotence in men.If u c a little child wit swollen neck,its Mumps (vry terrible viral kini).On this thrend (page 40 somthng),somone listed out d immunizations 2b taken.Compare it 2d card u hav&c d ones he hasn't taken&mak sure he gets them.

Sweetheart.Pay a visit 2ur paediatrician.Don't listen 2s bullsh*t dat coms out of ppl's mouth cos they'l mislead u&complicate thngs 4u.Baby's head is supposed 2b soft.U'l b seein d pulsation on d frontal part of d scalp (fontanelle).It closes at 18mths but c ur dr so dat u'l clear ur conscience of any guilt.If ur baby's not sleepin at nyt,ar u sure he/sh's not havin colic (abdominal pain)?&is he/sh suckin enuf? Visit ur dr 1st ok?

Hello mummies in the house? Hp ur LOs are doing great? I asked a question some time ago if it was necessary to continue 2 bath baby d traditional way with all d twisting and all. My son is 4mths and 2 wks old. My MIL said so and she said she wld b coming 2 help with bathing d baby. She comes in d evening thrice a week and those times are hell 4 my son cos he cries a lot and starts making a funny sound. I v never seen him cry like that and I get scared for him. My mum stayed 4 3mths and said I shld bath d normal way that she has done all. I am at my wits end . I ask again is this twisting and gymnastics necessary 4 a 4mths old baby and of what benefit is it cos I feel his bones r getting stronger hence d crying?

D gymnastics in my opinion is unnecesary,my mom didn't do such for we her kids,and we turned out fine,I didn't do it for my kids and thyr doin great

If ure nt comfortabl wth it,find a diplomatic way to tel ur MIL to stop,besides its wen d baby is newlyborn they do all dt stuff on them,

my dear,breast milk is d best...take more fluids,water,juice,tea, d breast milk will overflow.I tell u.friso gold and pap should be at 6 months though I started mine at 4 months because I started work and I had light issues so I could not store d breastmilk in d fridge ...exclusive breast feeding is very very good.well done,dear

Just like som1 said above that all those cough syrup aint gud 4babies, cough will pass on its own....just use Vit C 2boost immune, do steam bath and cover ur baby properly

My twins now walk, but na wahala, for dey are everywhere, scattering things ehnn. Dis boys no go kill me. But de good side is pursing dem up and down is a good exercise for me.
