Source close to the State Security Service (SSS) has confirmed the death of Mr. Habeeb Bama. He was said to have died of gun shot wounds

He was shot and fatally wounded in a shoot out with the Joint Military Task Force in Damaturu, Yobe yesterday

Habeeb Bama an ex-soldier, was one of the leaders of Boko Harama. He was lleged to be the master-minder of the bombing of the UN House, Abacha barracks and the December 2011 Madalla church bombings.

And there could be the possibility, if the SSS has good intelligence, that this might just be a charade to isolate the guy and work with him. (Something similar to a witness protection program).

But BBC news just reported now that the man is in detention! or is the BBC carrying stale news?

We don't expect them to tell us all but what information do we have to prove to us that they did not just

a) kill the wrong man
b) frame an innocent man
c) Make up the claim that the man was a kingpin


He is dead now and cannot answer, so how do we believe any of this was real? If the SSS wants to keep that information secret, why not also keep the claims that he was a Kingpin secret too and wake us all up when they are ready to deal with the situation and keep the public informed.

Not to compare, but even the FBI rarely kept much of the reasons why people that were accused of being AlQuaeda masterminds secret, na SSS go come need to keep the vital infos secret?
