Embattled suspended chairman of the House of Representatives ad hoc committee on fuel subsidy regime, Farouk Lawan, again reported at the force headquarters on Monday in compliance with his bail conditions without the $620,000 bribe money.

According to the source, Farouk felt disappointed that his colleague in the House, who is the chairman of the Committee on Narcotics and Financial Crimes, who he handed over the money to, could deny receiving such money from him.
On why the secretary of the committee, Boniface Emenalo, had not returned his own share of $120,000 to the police, the source said that he claimed to have handed over the money to Farouk immediately after collecting it from Otedola.

In a twist of events the
House Committee Chairman on Narcotics, Anti-corruption and National Values, Adams Jagaba, has written to the Inspector-General of Police, denying custody of the $620,000 bribe money allegedly collected from businessman Femi Otedola by the Chairman, House of Representatives ad hoc committee chairman on fuel subsidy management, Mr. Farouk Lawan.

He said neither him nor any member of his committee had seen the money which Lawan claimed he handed over to him on April 24,2012.
