You have not even started ADB. which magic u wan come use access the device? go read your tutorial well and be sure u installed ADB correctly and do remember to enable android debugging on the device and for fastboot the standard query to check that u are on track is "fastboot devices" |

fastboot for Windows ADB and Fastboot without the SDK http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790 After installing ADB and Fastboot you add a path in environmental variables. For Windows: left click the Windows (start) button > right click on computer > choose properties > go to advanced system settings > advanced tab > environmental variables > in the first box (user variables for _____) click new > name it adb input the value where it was installed e.g C:\android\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools (yours may differ from this so double check it!) in the second box (system variables) find a variable named path if one doesn't exist make one > double click on it > at the very end of the variable value add the same line as before but with a ; in front of it. like this: ;C:\android\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools click ok and you are done! Well this allows you to open a command line from anywhere on your computer without changing directories to use fastboot which i suspect is the problem you have 1 Like |

Help some1!! i have 8GB in my phone, i have movies, musics, ebooks, apps e.t.c on my phone. The problem is ,from my logical calculations I've used less than 6GB yet i have less than 500MB storage space remaining. I'd clean my cache ( and deleted thumbnails) several times. is there anything else i can delete which wont affect the smooth running of the phone? |

liljboy: welcome to the world of aggressive advertisment where your browsing is hijacked by data consuming nonsense ads. it's so frustrating but there is a solution. the catch is you need root access. search for and download AdAway ( it's not in the play store). in the app, click on "download files and apply ad blocking". follow the instructions yhat appear. next, click the options button and click on "log DNS request". you will be told "Tcpdump is not running". click on it to start running ( to where, i wonder?). now exit the app and browse with any browser. after about 5 mins of ad filled browsing, go back to AdAway, click options, log DNS requests ,open file. you would see all the urls you and the ads have opened. long tap on the ads urls and add to blacklist. click back and back to exit the app and presto, no more ads and your data doesn't finish so fast anymore. becareful the urls you add to your blacklist or your whatsapp, bbm or facebook may stop working. you can also disable temporarily disable cookies and flash in your browser although some sites complain about that. 1 Like |

alternatively, if you don't have root ( seriously? ) and the ads are so much you want to smash your phone ( i nearly did), you have 3 options OPTION ONE : install firefox mobile and install an ad blocker. very stable and works well. downside is you will be limited to a single browser and if you are one of ' out of memory space" members, you can't try this. ( why? you ask? install the app, note the initial size after install. browse for 10mins, note the size again) OPTION TWO : install Opera Mobile labs and install the two extensions "Ghostery and ScriptKeeper". activate the add-ons and watch all the ads start complaining. (a little box will show all the sites blocked trying to hijack your browsing). the app is unstable. OPTION THREE : not for kids |

4llerbuntu: Was looking for a solution so I decided to search this thread ( for the 1st time ever) . instead of going through the 100+ pages hoping to find something that may not be there, I decided to take a much easier route by "Asking". Good thing you turned up. Thanks for that. Meanwhile I just D/Led the Root file manager only to find out that the files u asked me to check contains nothing (0.00MB). .. Any,way, thanks for your time. |
