Family / Re: How Do You Cope, Divorced And Separated Men by abike12(f): 3:45pm On Jan 22 |
your responsibility as a father has nothing to do with your relationship with your ex-wife and the infidelity you keep mentioning is not useful information in the context of taking care of your children. the reason for divorce does not excuse you from your responsibility to your children. do not discuss this with your children in an attempt to get back at your ex, it will backfire on you and your children will view you as a bitter and frustrated person. move on with your life and hopefully you have better luck next time. |
Politics / Re: Ibadan Explosion: Akin Alabi Extends Sympathies To Victims, Appeals For Support by abike12(f): 11:53pm On Jan 17 |
I hate how someone can be minding their business in nigeria and this type of thing can happen to them with no accountability, no compensation, inadequate medical care. The victims will pay the price for what they did not cause and it's not right |
Family / Re: Single Nigerian Ladies In Diaspora, Any Reason Why You Turn Down Our Guys? by abike12(f): 5:37pm On Nov 29, 2023 |
Smile4mee01: I don't recommend a woman with papers dating a man without papers solely because of the many many women that have done it in the past and had negative outcomes, ended up being used and dumped and left alone to struggle as single mothers. it's normal for a man without papers to claim he doesn't need papers but a lot of times they are telling lies, it's all part of the game. if you were of the caliber that it would be believable that you want to relocate to nigeria, they may find it easier to believe. from experience of over 20 years in america, it is wise and prudent to keep immigration matters separate from marriage, with some exceptions. it's not fair but with all that has been happening to women here, it's a necessary safeguard. if you really want to move to nigeria, why not date someone in nigeria and travel back and forth until you are ready to relocate. abi you too don't want someone without american visa?? |

are you able to see a dermatologist? like others have said, it may get better with age but it's best to have it checked out because of the social stigma associated with having skin issues. |
Travel / Re: Living In The USA - Life Of An Immigrant Part 1 by abike12(f): 6:00pm On Nov 07, 2023 |
Jannyfranc: you're right. budget is a big consideration especially initially. keep in mind that you don't have to remain where you start out. you can always relocate based on work, preferences, etc weather and cost of living - houston and dallas (summers are hot but winters are relatively mild). running away from hurricane eliminates houston but there's the probability that you can live in houston for a few years and relocate without having a major hurricane. america is a violent country with lots of mentally unstable and volatile armed people (I have to be blunt here) so I don't have any recommendation on less violent city other than stay prayed up and be careful. houston is very diverse, not sure how that compares to north carolina but just something to keep in mind. good luck. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Jannyfranc: consider staying away from the south... I know homes are cheaper etc but wanting non violence state and being a lecturer, you probably want to live in a more enlightened environment. are you coming with a spouse and do they plan to work? If I had to choose again I would move to a city in colorado or california. Seattle is another good choice. |

Travel / Re: Why Do Most Wealthy Nigerians Prefer To Live In Nigeria Than To Relocate Abroad? by abike12(f): 4:01pm On Oct 09, 2023 |
lots of generalizations here... many one percenters have homes in multiple countries and maintain a presence Nigeria for business reasons, networking and maintaining their social relevance. Many big decisions and business moves are initiated at some of the parties we see them attending so they have to maintain a presence in Nigeria to some extent. A lot of them technically live in two or three countries and they take their domestic help along with them in addition to regular staff that they maintain in their homes worldwide. I was surprised to see a comment saying they can't have domestic staff abroad I don't know why anyone will think a billionaire's maid or assistant will not have access to any country's visa to follow their boss around the globe. The people that have just relocated should please try and live abroad for a while and expand your experiences before coming to generalize and paint a picture that is inaccurate and only shows a lack of exposure. |

It's not only Nigeria, it's all over the world. Prices for daily necessities are going up 20, 30, 40%. I don't know anyone who is getting that much of a raise, so people are effectively getting poorer. May God help the world. |

TOHHAN: This happened to me after my first. It's pre-eclampsia (yes, one can develop it after delivery). All through the pregnancy, no bp issues at all then few days after delivery I had this bad headache that refused to go away. I went to the doctor and they checked my bp and it was really high. Please take it seriously and don't hesitate to go back to the hospital with any concerns. 1 Like |

Ekabobo: No matter what happens please trust God. When I went through a miscarriage I prayed and cried and slept on my side for almost 12 hours in pain. I refused to get up so I won't spot. Ended up in the hospital the next day and the worst had happened. I was so discouraged that God after all my prayers, but I held on to the faith. Exactly a year later I was in the same hospital on the labor and delivery ward to have my baby. Anxiety and desperation are tools the devil uses. God will answer His names in your life, over this situation and you will carry your children. 9 Likes |
