"Maami....Maami where is aunty funke?" the young boy asked sighing as he was refering to an average old woman who was arranging her stones which shows clearly she was about setting up the easiest equivalent stove or gas ever.

"Tunde why are you looking for funke and where are you coming from ranting?" mummy funke asked

"Maami Ázé is back?"

"Which Ázé?" she inquire to confirm if it was the popular village Ázé whom the whole community missed
"Maami Ázé na, baba Iles's son, aunty funke's friend"

"eh, are you sure Ázé is back to Ijagun?"

"Yes, but there is a problem"
"Problem! Kiloshele (What is the problem?)"

"Ázé is very sick and as a matter of fact he cannot even talk or do anything"

"Ah, may Iroko forbid bad thing" she exclaimed
"What happened to him?"

"I don't know, maybe when aunty funke get there she will be able to find out" They were still discussing when funke cut in, she was with her friend Bola.

"What am I finding out Tunde?" she asked

"Ah, aunty funke is even here"

"What is it Tunde?"

"Ázé is back"
She was overwhelmed hearing Ázé's name
"Wh....ere is he" she asked profusely

"He is in his house but..............."
"Tunde" mum cut in

"Yes maami"
"That's enough, go inside and get me water" he could not finish the statement before rushing inside to get the water

"Funke go inside, change and come and join me in the kitchen" Mum instructed so as to get ride of the sad news Tunde was about breaking that moment

"Funke I have to go now, we'll see in the evening"
Bola bade

That evening, Funke and Bola got to Ázé's house but found nobody in the house
On their way going back home they met Ayo, a guy that live close to Ázé's house

"Funke have you seen Ázé?" Ayo asked
"No, Please Where is he?"

"Hmmmm, he has been taken to Iroko's temple....................

Martins; Anita and the driver were outside wondering what could be happening inside, the young boy had left them the moment they took Ázé inside, he was echoing aunty funke while he was running, he should be a cousin or relation to funke i guess.

"Please i think i will have to be going now, the sun is going down" the driver said referring to Martins

"Sir i know you've tried, but allow our friends to come out before you go please"
The driver could not argue too much with him because Debby had already paid him handsomely for the journey, she had asked him to stop by an atm machine point where she withdrew money both for transportation and other miscellaneous, Anita too was a big girl, her father was a local government chairman and she was well taken care of but Debby does not allow her spend much ever since they became friends, Debby had asked her to move into her apartment but she refused, adhering to her father's instruction never to squat with anyone in school. For Martins..... the dude was just a street boy who was tolling so hard to pass through school before he met this savior called Ázé.

Baba Iles had finish narrating his story to Debby how he helped one Mr. Williams Azeme on his way back from a nearby community during a military coup.
Mr. Williams was relocating to an unknown destination from Benin when he encounter some military men who molested and beat him up to comma and then abandon him to die, that day baba Iles was riding on his motorcycle when he saw a motionless body lying by the road side and he decided to Help, he took him home and treated him until he regained his strength, he advised him to stay in the community since he actually had no destination and that was how they became friends.
He got a land and started farming with the people of ijagun, a brave man he was.

Before Mr. Williams entered Ijagun, the people had committed a sacralage which made Iroko their gods to turned Its back on them, evil began to creep into the community, there was a particular lion who will always come out at night to eat up children, no man was bold enough to come out to confront the monster until one night Mr. Williams decided to put a stop to the tears of the Ijagun people by killing the lion with a sharpened hard wood, the entire community rejoiced and danced the following morning praising the stranger before the Baale (king), he was rewarded greatly by the king and some influential men in the society and later took a wife, there he was given a yoruba name "Balogun". Iroko was appeased and the people began to live in safety again. Few years later baba Iles's wife and Mr. Williams's wife became pregnant on the same day, the two women gave birth right before Iroko's temple, baba Iles named his son after is friend Azeme and the girl was named Bimpe. They were marked with a sign of a half cross after it was revealed by Iroko that their destinies were tied to each other, their parent thought it much to bethrot them so they were bethrothed.

One morning, Mr. Williams took his bag and told baba Iles he is leaving the community to go and join the military after his wife was transformed into a sculpture at Iroko's temple, baba Iles tried every possible means to stop him but his mind was made up so he left with his daughter.

"Hold on i'm coming" baba Iles said and went inside, in no distant time he brought a calabash with water.

"Drink a little from this water"

"hmmm, What for sir?" she asked though not too scared

"Come on, take it, it's not harmful"
She took the calabash and sip the water, in ten seconds her mood changed, her eye balls turned into rainbow colors, her voice became more angelic than ever, there was healing in her hands, Martins and co began to hear strange voices inside, they could not help it but ran inside...............

"My daughter please have a seat" baba Iles said in an appealing tone pointing to a wooden chair close to where Ázé's motionless body was layed.

The oldman sighed and kept silent for some seconds before he continued

Debby began to realize where she made a mistake, she has kept her virginity for years but she can't even explain to nairalanders how her urge towards Ázé began, but there are some things about her real self that is yet to be unveiled in this unknown land she just found herself, nature is just too full of illusions.

"Uhm... sir, please what's now the solution to make him normal again?" Debby asked looking a bit worried

The old man was about to make further inquiries but something cut his attention, the form of a tatoo mark on her neck region, it was a half cross sign, the mark reminds him of something in ages
He stood up and took proper look at the sign.
Debby quickly recall that several girls on campus admire the mark also, she has stood in front of her dressing mirror severally to check it out but it was something beyond ordinary because the mark wasn't that attractive but many girls had wanted to have it while some already drew it.

She was also yet to discover if the woman she knew as her bioligical mother was true or not.

"Major General Williams Balogun sir" She said looking at the oldman with her glittering eye balls.

"What is his Benin name?"

Debby could not picture where the oldman was heading to as she gave some facial expression

Baba Iles was sitting outside receiving the free natural fresh breeze when a vehicle entered into his compound, Martins was the first to open the door followed by the young boy, the driver before Debby and Anita
The 72years old Baba Iles just sat on his expensive wooden chair gazing at the new faces coming out of the vehicle, maybe they are strangers who always visit the village for cleansing he thought, strangers are often referred to him first before he takes them to Baale (king) as Iroko's messenger
Before they could gaze around the compound, the young boy quickly ran to him, the compound was very neat, he has two maidens assin by the alagbas (elders) to always maintain his compound and they do that every morning.

"Ek'asan baba" the young boy greeted prostrating
Baba Iles replied and asked him to stand up, before the boy could get up, the driver greeted with yoruba while Martins and co greeted in English, he also replied them in English, Debby and co were impressed, atleast he went to secondary school and he could even speak good English to some extent

The old man almost jump up from his chair at the sound of Ázé's name from the young boy, Ázé was his life and joy after his wife, Ázé's mother willingly join the efa spirit women at Ázé's birth.

When Ázé was born, a message was received from iroko that is either he die or his mother join the efa spirit women whose duty is to solicit for her child, she was the 7th woman to bear a child like Ázé and none of their sons were able to maintain the laws so they died while their mothers remain sculptures in the tower, the women were transform into immortals and never to be seen by family members until when been touched by the blood of a virgin and that blood must be produced on the day of the son's marriage ceremony which a white cloth will be placed on a tomb inside the iroko's tower and the man will take the lady's virginity right in the temple.

I wish Ázé's case will be different, the blood stain was still on their white blanket back in school but it might be too late going back to Lagos to cut that part that has the blood so there won't be any need for that.

They quickly rushed to the vehicle and brought Ázé out while they all helped him inside the room

"What happened?" Ázé's father asked

"Sir we don't know, he developed this illness overnight" Martins answered looking worried

"Please who was he with before this started?" the oldman asked further

They were silent for a while, Martins and Anita gave some flashback look, the driver did not follow them inside

"hmmmmm, we were together sir" Debby replied

"Please i will love to have a word with her alone" he beckoned

Martins and Anita quietly left the room...........

The cabman was an expert, he has been to the community severally according to his conversation with the girls and he knows Ázé's village very well.

Under 17years girls in Ijagun village goes unclad even if their breast are fully out and nipple standing like that of queen shebba's
No boy above 18years dare look at them for ten minutes else he will be dead before the sun rise the following morning, the boys and girls would never have sex until they are married and if any makes a mistake of having sex before marriage, he or she must confess and be brought before Iroko for purification within 24hours which will take a whole lot of process along side with prices to pay.
This has been the ethics of the people and no one dares go against it, within or outside the community so long you're an indigene of Ijagun, its a culture everyone must adhere to.

The clock was ticking real hard, Ázé was loosing his strength every seconds.
By the way, his time to die has passed, why hasn't the Iroko taken his life!
Well maybe that's destiny or probably the grace of his powers is what he is now using but i wish he gets to Ijagun alive.

Martins! I smell some trouble for the dude because only Allah knows if his joystick will be able to resist the evil call of those calabash standing on the chest of Ijagun unclad virgins, i just hope he mind his business of finding a solution to Ázé's health and return to campus safe.

Debby! she's got some scours to settle with funke because she will in big trouble by the time funke discover she's actually the cause of what her bobo is passing through, you know village girls attitude, those type you find in nigeria home video.

Anita! I don't think she's gat any trouble, she will only have problem with the alagbas when she tries to take photograph of happenings in the community, she has quickly inserted a camera into her bag the moment they were taking some things they might need during the journey
The people of Ijagun were far from civilization but they have full knowledge of technology harm and for that reason the penalty of any stranger who tries to take photograph during or after the ti nw festival must be stoned to death.

The driver finally hit a stop after driving through a very rough road for about 30 minutes
"this is the community" he said looking at Ázé sitting motionlessly in between Debby and Martins at the back seat, Anita took the front seat.
"Sir can you please help us use Yoruba to ask any of this people walking, the road to Baba Iles's house?" Martins beckoned, they were already driving pass a lot of villagers who just stood, looking at their vehicle

"Bawo" (meaning Hi) the driver drew the attention of a young boy who was also looking at them closely
"Ek'asan sir" (meaning Good afternoon sir) the young boy greeted bowing his head, that is one thing I like about the yoruba people, respect runs in their vein.
"Ejo, ni mosele de adugbo yi Baba iles's house?" (meaning Excuse me, how do I get to Baba iles's house)
The boy bent a little bit and scan through the vehicle, he saw Ázé and exclaimed Immediately

"Ah Baba Ázé, yes yes yes I know there" They were impressed that the boy can speak English

"mmmm, please can you take us there?" Martins asked quickly
"Yes I go fit carry u go"
"Ok please enter the vehicle lets go"
He quickly dived in not minding if they were kidnapers but all he knows is that he has seen their own almighty Ázé and nothing can happen to him besides no kidnapper has ever dared enter Ijagun
They finally arrived Baba Iles's compound......................

Ázé was dying slowly, he was groaning in pain, Debby screamed out for Martins and Anita, they rushed in only to find Ázé almost giving up a ghost

"Debby what happened? Martins ask as he rushed and grab him
Anita too was scared of the different voice he was hearing from Ázé but she summoned courage as she try to touch him.

"I don't know, I woke up to find him screaming" Debby explained, she really did not know what was wrong with him, how on earth will she know that the leisure of yesterday is now the pain displaying today.

"Please lets hurry and take him to the hospital" Anita suggested

"Call the cab man quickly" Martins said in a loud voice

Anita quickly brought out her phone and dialled the cab man's number but it didn't connect
Debby quickly made for her phone and dialled the digits of her cab man who is always at her service anytime any day, he was being paid by her dad to take her anywhere so long she's in school
To her greatest shock and Surprise, her cab man phone rang severally but he did not take his calls.

Ázé could hardly talk, he was gasping for air

"Pl..plea.... Please take me to my village" he finally spoke out but though in strange voice

"Village! Why your Village?"

"Pl.. ease ta.. ke me to the Village, they can't heal.. me in_ the__hospital" Ázé speak in pains

"Please who knows his Village" Martins asked the two girls quickly but none of them knew, the only thing Debby knows was that Ázé was a yoruba guy and he said something about ogun state when they talked about their state origin.

"Give me paper and pen" Ázé requested

"Please get paper and pen quickly" Martins ordered

Before you could say jack, Anita was back with pp, Martins quickly collected it and helped Ázé while he struggle to put down his home address.
Even I the story teller did not see the address proper but i saw something like IJEBU ODE, maybe most of you readers will know the place

Before Martins could utter a word Debby and Anita ran out in search of a cab man and in few minutes they were back with one

They hurriedly took Ázé to the car and the journey began......

The journey was some hours drive from Lagos according to the driver
Who knows if Ázé is going to survive it before they get to his village

Ázé had to make sure he lands in a place where no one was in sight with Martins so as to avoid scaring people who would think rapture is about taking place or probably been carried by NTA, AIT, CNN and other news broadcasting stations that a human was seen in the city of Lagos flying with another human on broad day light.

They finally landed in a place close to the cementry where no one could be seen, Martins could not believe his experience, he was damn amazed. Ázé muttered some words and his wings disappeared.

"Man tell me you're not a human!" Martins said in amazement

"hmmm, of course i'm a human, It's just the way I was born" Ázé replied with a little smile on his face.

"Thanks for saving my life"

"Come on, you don't have to thank me, lets start going before they catch us here"
They shook their hands as they took to their heels.

That week campus became more hot for students, both cult and non cultist kept their cool as the SARS and other security agents were not friendly at all.

Typhoid and some of his cult group were captured while some were killed during the process.

Fodio and his own group has ran into hiding until the securities decides to leave the Campus, though still planing on how to get Ázé, Martins and Debby.
He decided not to collect the camera from the HOD so as to avoid being caught by the securities though he paid him handsomely to maintain his loyalty to the brotherhood of which he was also a full member of.

The tension on Ázé and his friends was now relieved, the storm is over, they thought, though nobody heard if Fodio or Lizzy and their gang were arrested but they believe that with that clear picture of Fodio pulling a trigger at the senator's son! his case will soon become history.

Debby and Ázé began to develop some mutual feelings for each other and she did not wait for Ázé to carry the burden alone instead she let the cat out of the back.

They were sitting under a fruit in front of their rented four bedroom compound, the house was not that expensive as they only rent it to hide for a while until their safety is guaranteed.
Anita and Martins were probably inside.

"How can thoughts be real

Ázé has been reading love books right from his secondary school days and he still reads some till date so don't ask where he learnt them from.
Debby! I will say probably when she was in her mum's belly because she does not spend a day without reading love poems but she does not allow guys pest her.

That night they slept in the same room and they could not overcome the temptation
It was a night of honor, they were both virgins who have not tested what was called sex.

Ázé woke the next morning to found out his white wings were turning reddish, his eyes too were changing color, he then flashed back to his father's instructions a week before he left for school.
He was instructed never to have sex with a woman until he bring her to Iroko's temple for purification.................. See what happened in the next episodes

School was now becoming a little more peaceful for Ázé and his friends as external security personnel has been deployed to investigate the death of the senator's son, including the special anti-robbery squad.
Although they've all decided to look for hiding were no one could easily trace them until they figure out what to do.

Debby has decided not to notify her dad about the ugly situation, had that not be the case, all those chasing her around will wish they never go close. She will never forget how her dad shot her best male friend twice in the leg for boldly coming to her house to look for her. Now she needs freedom to live like a normal civilian but when bad turns worst, we shall see if she will boldly embrace death or call on her father to send troops.

"Guys I heard the SARS are on campus to investigate the death of Paulker Ikechukwu, the person we have in our photograph and the killer, the question is, how do we get to the right person who is going to deliver the photograph to them without getting into the wrong hands?" Anita asked

Ázé and Debby were sitting close to each other while Martins and Anita were also very close to each other like they've shared themselves to be couples already.

"Yes that's true, I think this is the right time for us to send those dream killers to where they belong, they really need to wrath in jail, I just can't imagine how many students who have lost their lives to those blood suckers, Anita would have be of the past if not for Ázé"

"hmmm, Martins I think you are the best person to suggest what to do right now" Ázé cut in facing Martins

I suggest we take the cam to office of the HOD, mass communication department while he help deliver the photograph to the dean, he is new, I think he can help out" Martins suggested

They all agreed to take the camera to the HOD'S office the next day as that will be their best way of making Fodio and his group face the law before thinking of how to handle Lizzy and her group.

The next morning, Ázé and Martins went to the HOD'S office while Debby and Anita stayed back.
They finally delivered the camera and decided to go back home quickly to meet the two girls
Immediately the HOD put a call to Fodio.
But how come Martins didn't know Professor Yakubu Usman to be member of the eiye cult!
Professor Yakubu Usman was once a lecturer in LASU who got sacked because of his attitude of promoting crime on campus. He has spent years at home jobless untill he recently gain employment into unilag. Why has he not changed! When you see him, ask him.
Before you could say jack, Fodio and his men were already on campus. He disguised himself as a perfect gentle on suite so as avoid much interrogation from the officers who were everywhere.
His men stood outside the school gate while he entered, opening his deadly and ugly eye balls.

The moment Ázé and Martins came out of the gate, Martins noticed some of the guys and drew Ázé's attention, they were about taking another way when the guys noticed them and started chasing them.

Some officers, SARS I suppose, who also disguise them selves, hanging around the school gate noticed the movement and decided to follow up immediately

The sound of a gun together with Martins voice was what made Ázé turned and noticed one of Martins' leg gushingout blood.

He was screaming in pain while Ázé tried to help, the guys kept chasing and finally apprehend them.

"Chai Marto, no b u be this?" One of the guys who made the shot thundered mockenly
"C am, your judgement day don come and e don clear for your eye" he continued
"And you, we don dig your grave and we dey carry you go there now now" he said refering to Ázé who was getting ranged like a lion ready to devor its prey.

He was pulling the trigger at Martins when he heard

"Hold it, all of you put your hands on your head" SARS

They tried to escape but end up embracing bullets. While the officers were aiming at them escaping, Ázé flew with Martins.
