They are silent because they remember Peter Obi was the loudest critic of fuel subsidy who promised to remove it on the first day of his presidency, if elected.

So we would be in this situation even if he was president, and they know it.

That’s why they are silent.
But your Bobo Chicago who is supposedly a first class holder in accounting and economics, and presumed by ronu miscreants to be better than Obi still did "what obi would have done". Why didn't he do better?

Take it or leave it, your agbado slave master is a total failure, even you yourself know it within you.

Also remember your emilokan was the loudest critic of GEJ when he tried to remove this same subsidy in 2015, so how far?

Glad to know that not everyone is dumb on Nairaland. I follow her TikTok account, she always addresses issues like this.

I think the op is to blame here for posting a misleading topic in order to get engagements.

Nigerians are the most emotionally unintelligent creatures on earth watch how they're bad mouthing the said lady just because she made a mistake, a mistake from wanting to live in a more serene environment which they can afford. If you check well, those people insulting her are struggling to pay their rent of one room apartment, their own lives isn't any better but they're here insulting her.

One comment even said she's ugly, if e sure for you make you post your own picture make we compare who fine pass. Rubbish

Romance / Re: Would You Marry Someone Who Has Broken Ties With Their Parents? by cigaricon(m): 1:14pm On Jan 18
You see, issues in family are very delicate and complicated that if you don't experience it firsthand or you're not a first hand witness, you will never understand no mater how the people involved explain it to you. First of all, when it comes to marriage, I believe it to be between two people, therefore should be independent of any other people whether they're family or not, after all the bible said a man would LEAVE HIS MOTHER AND FATHER AND CLING TO HIS WIFE. However the African culture insinuates that marriage is between families but I do not agree and that's my own opinion.

Now back to the issues in family I was talking about, If you had spectacular parents as a child, you can never believe that there are parents somewhere who are evil such that they could even kill their child. Many parents have ruined their children's lives, yes I've met some people who their parent(s) do not want the best for them so that they won't outdo what they the parent have done. We've all heard stories where Fathers molest their daughters, maltreat their sons and what not, now would you blame these set of people if they choose to disown their parents? Many would do so to save their future, would you blame them?

I see some comments saying one shouldn't disown their family NO MATTER WHAT and I just scoff cos these people haven't been in some ugly situation. I bet that You wouldn't even think twice before making the decision if it were you so stop saying what you don't know about yet and just deal with your own life and let others deal with theirs.

At the end of the day, whether family or not, we are all individuals with different perspectives to life, so one having toxic or evil parents doesn't automatically mean that they would be evil themselves as some comments are saying. Sometimes we experience evil so that we can be better humans. Sometimes people make these decisions to save their partner and children from toxicity.

I'm not saying it's a good thing to disown one's parents, all I'm saying is that some situations need to be properly studied before jumping into conclusion. It is no where carved in stone that whoever doesn't have a relationship with their parents will be bad partners in marriage, never

To add to this, many employees have this mindset of defrauding the company or it's clients/customers, or cutting corners to get extra pennies in their pockets. They don't care about the company. I've seen this a lot.

We4all:

Your mom should have tried to unite you and your half siblings before her death. It is said that half siblings who share the same mother are closer than those who share the same father. I wonder why you never met with your siblings.

I believe you are old enough. You should make an effort to trace them even if it's obvious they don't care. Because if they actually care, they could have linked up with you before now.

I've tried to several times but it's hard. I only know their first names, I don't even know their surname, I don't know the state they are or if they're in Nigeria at all. When I reunited with my biological sister, she told me she only met them once and at the time, they were in Enugu. My aunt from my mother's side who is the only family member that I know from my mother's side (we also reunited after so many years), I asked her about them and she said that the female one now has a child, but is no longer with the man whom she has the child with. Even she doesn't care about them. I was heart broken cos I didn't even know that I have a nephew.

Many times I've shed tears due to the dysfunctional way my family is. My family has never been united. My father hates every single memory of my mother, and my mother's family hates him as well, even up till today. At some point, they accused him of being responsible for my mother's death which is absolutely not true. Sometimes I feel my father doesn't care much about I and my biological sister cos we came from my mother. I have a tattoo of my mother's name and a heart shape on my left wrist. The day my father saw it, he was filled with resentment and kinda withdrawn from me. He didn't make it obvious but I knew cos I have a very strong discerning spirit and I know him very well. I know he doesn't hate us, I just think we bring back memories of her.

Family / Re: How's Your Relationship With Your Siblings? Toxic Or Healthy? by cigaricon(m): 2:53pm On Nov 25, 2023
I can't really say it's healthy, neither can I say it's toxic. We just don't have a strong bond with each other.

To begin with, I have two elder half siblings I've never meet before, these are my late mother's children she had from a previous marriage before she married my dad. I haven't even seen their pictures so I don't even know how they look like, I only know their names. And any time I ask a family member who've had contact with them, they just waive it off.

In my family, it's not the younger ones (siblings, cousin) that are toxic, it's the elder ones (parents, uncle's, aunties) although not all Sha, and it's rubbing off on some of the younger ones. To say the least, my family is very dysfunctional.

We are just two who share the same parents, I and my younger sister, the rest are my half siblings. My biological sister and I didn't grow up together due to my mom and dad's separation. We reunited after 15yrs and still had some misunderstandings due to individual differences. Then I decided to be away from family and find my way through life. The last time we saw was about 2-3 yrs ago, we only communicate via call and WhatsApp and it's been cool.

My other half siblings, the children my dad has with his present wife we barely communicate, not because we hate each other but they are still young and are still under parent's custody so they follow whatever their mother tells them. I think they'll come around when they're much older.

I eager look forward to spending some with them in the coming hollidays though.

Family / Re: Have You Ever Felt Like You Are Not Doing Enough ? by cigaricon(m): 3:02pm On Nov 14, 2023
Never in my life have I thought of myself as an underachiever, and never will I. In fact, I see myself as an overachiever with the circumstances sorrounding my life. I'm currently 28yo, there was a time I thought I wouldn't make it pass 23 or 25.

With what I have been able to achieve for myself given the fact that I have been given absolutely nothing in this life, even love and family which are the basic things most people enjoy in life because it doesn't cost a thing, even that I haven't been given in this life.

I came from a broken home, I've never experienced what family feels like, I never had my both parents together, I was separated from my mother and sister for 15yrs. 9yrs into those 15yrs I lost my mom. My dad hated my mom so much that he didn't even allow me see her grave. It's so bad that even till today, I have no visual memory of my mother. I spent most of my childhood wishing I was like other kids in my neighborhood.

I left home to be on my own at age 15, I didn't have the opportunity to further my education after my mom died, I've gone days without food, I almost died on the street from hunger, I've slept under banex bridge, Omo... The story long but here I am today, I have my own brand I'm building, I do not have to worry about food to eat or roof over my head.

Sometimes I look at some people of the same age group as me and I say, with all the support system you have, if you still need extra motivation to keep you moving, then your mater dey Yaba left.

People like you are the problem of Nigeria.

So because Professor AbdulRahman separated conjoined twins in UITH the other day, that now gives the rest of the medical profesion to be killing Nigerians abi.

For your information, there is nothing special about doctors. They are not even the top priority professions in the world.

Who's business is it if it took donkey years to produce your DUMB baby doctor. Is is not even shameful that it took over 7+ years to produce a doctor who then goes to forget his instruments and other items in the body of his patients? Is that not a waste of 7+ years? Do you even know that Vetinary doctor is also 7+ years? Do you even know how many years and rigorous trainings it takes to produce an airline captain?

Imagine an aero plane pilot giving such flimsy excuses as forgetting his instruments. The life of one patient is in the hands of a doctor and he still manages to bungle it up like a fool that he is. do you even know that when a pilot is flying, hundreds of lives are in his hands and the pilot still lands safely without complaints. Put a doctor in a cockpit for an hour and see if he would not be crying for his own life.

We have security personnel putting their lives at risk to protect the MUMU doctors only for the MUMU doctor to be making silly mistakes by forgetting his instruments in the belly of his patients.

You are the wisest person on earth. Please whenever you or any of your family members have medical complications, please don't go to the doctor. You can treat or operate on yourself cos like you said, Doctors are killing Nigerians. Mtcheew

Kai! If I say Nigerians are the most ungrateful, most bitter and sadist people on earth now some people will come for my placenta. What about the countless successful surgery despite lack of resources, what about when they go to the extreme length just to save a life, what about the number of years they spend in school in order to acquire the knowledge to enable them treat your illnesses? How many of these have you appreciated? Doctors are humans too just like you and a prone to mistakes. See the way you are saying it like they do it intentionally, haba! cut them some
Slack abeg. Don't you make mistakes in your work too? Or is it only Nigerian doctors that mistakenly leave tools in their patients? What's even the statistical rate of this mistake self? It's very minimal. The Op even said he's lost COUNTLESS relatives. Make una dey fear God abeg. Maybe next time you have medical issues that requires surgery, you might as well do it yourself and avoid going to the doctors cos they will likely forget an instrument in your belly. Rubbish

Today , I was just wondering how did we end up with so many churches.

I happen to be in Maiduguri currently but I can't seem to find my church and the churches that are somehow close I haven't heard of them before. I don't know their doctrines nor the kind of their beliefs.

I am just stock. Thinking of just staying at home today and watch service online.

I wish we christians have just one church so that irrespective of where you are you can be comfortable going to any church.

Lol. Thought you guys worship the same God. If you do, why different beliefs/doctrines? Seems the God you worship has different standards undecided
