I will take the NHS job offer, 5m is a lot of money yes but Nigeria has no value system and the economy is very unstable .

Take this as a five years project and the family will be settled, someone has to do night shift to make this work.

The quality of life a N5000,000/month can give you in Nigeria is incomparable to what a measly £30,000/year nursing starting salary can give in the UK. A family in which one earner earns that much in Nigeria can build and/or rent a mansion. A nurse starting salary would struggle to rent a decent flat, let alone qualify for a mortgage. If we even factor in future salary increment in the UK to justify our reasoning, we should also then consider that she would also get an increment in the 5M salary in Nigeria at some point. IF the future of the children is the reason for the move, a few months of savings can allow her sponsor the kids to study in the UK until they can function independently.

If I were in her shoes, I will take the Nigeria job offer. Work and save aggressively for a few years. Visit the UK and spend time understanding the way the system works here for nurses. Do some research into America as well. If I earned that much in Nigeria before I came to the UK in 2009, I wouldn't have made the decision to come.

Please,is there anyone here who knows someone in the British army that can do referrals for their recruitment?

No, sorry.

Unrelated. I just saw on the website that they now require a referral from a serving soldier to recruit from the commonwealth.

Back in the day, we walked into recruitment offices and submitted our application. Until the Tories came in and closed off the offices, outsourced recruitment to Capita and started reducing Army numbers.

She just ruined her chances of renewing her visa or even getting another job .

It could also be that her visa has already expired, and using a cloned SIA licence was the easiest way for her to get work. I don't expect anyone with a valid visa that allows them to work will stoop as low as forging SIA licence. There are many companies offering free training and licence after you get employed by them. G4S is one. I worked for them briefly back in the day whilst I was at uni in 2010. They trained us in-house and paid for our hotel, food and SIA licence application.

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all well. I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request. My partner and I have been dreaming of starting a family, and we now need an egg donor to make this dream come true. We have been on the waiting list for over a year now but African/Nigerian donors are not coming forward.

We’re looking for someone willing to donate their eggs at our clinic here in the UK. There would be compensations cost paid up to 700 pounds by the clinic for your time and travel. Your generosity would mean the world to us and bring immense joy into our lives. If you or someone you know might consider helping us, please reach out.

Thank you for reading and for any support you can offer, whether it's donating or sharing this message. It means more than words can express.

I will speak to a close family member who, I believe, is still producing eggs she will no longer need. I have sent this post to her.

I'm noticing oddly contrasting views interestingly from same person.

On the protest over social service issue-

On far right protests...

For similar actions, one group have committed an own goal and should blame themselvesfor repercussions, the other group are only responding to deprivation by the government

That character is always engaged in 'whataboutery'. I don't know if he/she is deliberately trolling or if they are being serious. We speak about BAME being targeted by right wing thugs, the character will say ''what about black people who did the same in 2011''. The other day, we were posting about an issue that directly affects immigrants in the UK, the character posted something along the lines of ''what about Nigeria''.

The sad fact is that the BAME who support right wing thuggery against their own will never be accepted by the right wing thugs as one of their own.

Hi,

For any single female coming or in london for work before mid August, I have a room with own bathroom for £850 without bills in East London. Bills should be about £100. Please reply to me if interested.

Those of us who live in the North continue to count our blessings. £950 for a single room, in London?! London is quite an expensive place to live for the average middle class earner.

Yes, there are US presidents and presidential candidates worse by all metrics than Trump. Go and educate yourself and stop blabbing what's above your grasp.

Grow up and stop embarrassing yourself. Most of your statements here diminishes your moniker.

Trump has been convicted of a felony, he meets the criteria of being called a convicted felon. Do you have any other definition of what a convicted felon is?

Anyone on the doorsteps who dares to suggest that I m better suited campaigning for issues in Nigeria than here in the UK will immediately get both barrels.

I ll take up any cause I see fit,in any corner of the earth I like. I need not have campaigned for anything previously either. It's the Resistance. Everyone's welcome

It's classic 'whataboutery' when people (often our own people) say that we should speak more about a country we left ages ago, rather than a country we live in, pay taxes in, and in most cases, are citizens of.

I have already voted via the post for change. I came to this country on the back of a Labour government student visa policy, and I'm happy to pay more taxes to get public services back to the way it was in 2010. In 2010, I could see my GP in a day.

Honestly, I wonder what the UK will look like, if persons having this sort of thinking are allowed to run the country.

A 47 year old Mr’s A gets a CoS of sponsorship to be a Care worker in the UK (£22,000 pa max).
Mrs A has 5 children and 1 husband. The oldest child in SS1, the youngest in primary 2. Mrs A travels to the UK to work (as Care worker on a 22k salary). Mrs A does not pay IHS. Even Mrs A’s visa application fee is massively discounted.

The family of 7 arrives the UK. Mrs A is the only one working (on a 22k pa salary). Although the husband can work, he can’t, because of child care. All 5 children are enrolled in free school. All 6 dependants can access the NHS and other public services.

Any country that doesn’t see what the problem is, and curtail this is bound to fail.

Portraying this as some sort of ‘parents are forced away from their families’ is absolute bunkum!

The evidence widely available IS that immigrants from outside the UK are net positive fiscal contributors to the UK economy. For every ''Mrs A'' you say is a drain to the system, there is a Mrs B and Mrs C who are single highly skilled professionals paying tax and using private healthcare. When Mrs B and Mrs C get married, they will send their children to private schools and enrol them in private healthcare, thus freeing up state schools and the NHS for those in need. This was the Home Office own conclusion in their published research on fiscal effects of immigration, and I know you and I don't know more than the Home Office.

What I do find shocking is a certain breed of immigrants jumping on the bandwagon and blaming immigration for the systemic failure of public services in the UK. This is why I tend to avoid immigration debates both online and offline, it's not evidence-based, often toxic and leads to nowhere.

In England, you pay ~ £9.35 per prescription.
Normally, you don’t ask for a CT scan or MRI. In normal circumstances, the professional examines you, and decide if your case requires an MRI or CT scan or not.

It just went up in May to £9.90.

I agree with the rest of your comments.

For those that have been clamouring for benefits/public funds, this is a wake up call. Even when you become a citizen, you might not still get it. Benefits are for the less privileged in the society. People taking advantage of it make themselves less privileged, do you want to do the same or take control of your finances? The earlier you remove your mind, the better.

When it comes to giving and receiving, I'd rather be on the giving end than the receiving end.

Correct. It's only recently I started hearing about the child benefit that can be collected and then 'self-declared' at the end of the financial year for high income earners. 15 years in the UK and never once claimed a penny.

The nurse has worked in the NHS for 15 years but she was still referred to as "Nigerian born" in the article lol

The consequences of her actions could have been avoided as the judge remarked
" When you are entitled to something, you are entitled to it, but when you're not, you're not."

It's the Daily Mail, and it's literally their job to whip up racial hatred. Unfortunately for this Nurse, she will most likely be kicked off the NMC register.

On second thoughts, I don't know why people demonise care work. We all (set of 2009 UK entry) all did care and security jobs at some point prior to ultimately getting into chosen careers. Back in the day, no one gave visas for care work unlike now.

They're making it easier for you to lie.

They don't care, as long as they're collecting their premiums.

It's the day an accident occurs that they'll ask for the documentation and evidence of everything you've said. I hope you know there are people in those companies (claims adjusters) whose roles (and partly their compensation) is tied to denying and reducing the value of as many claims as possible.

Even innocent mistakes like forgetting to update the policy when you change address or job etc can affect coverage. How much more outright lies?

As has been said above, those people doing that should just drive very carefully as if they don't have insurance, because they really don't.

100% correct. In December 2020, my car aquaplaned on black ice and I crashed it at a roundabout. My car insurance took a look at my claim and decided to void my insurance because I didn't declare to them that the car had after-market 23'' alloy wheels. I paid for the repairs from my own pocket and took the car insurance company to the Ombudsman. A year later, the Ombudsman decided in my favour and told them to 'unvoid' the car insurance, and refund me every penny because there was no way a normal car user will know that 23'' wheels isn't factory fitted by the car manufacturers themselves.

Since then, I have had to declare the alloy wheels every time i renew my car insurance. See pictures of the car just after the crash on the snowy rainy morning.

Don't say what you don't know. I graduated from that school after 5 years of study. It's a custom that the hitmen in particular of any cult are usually targeted in their final year whenever are preparing for their exit such as writing their final papers bcs after that, they might not see him ever again to make him pay blood for blood for others blood he shed. It's usually a normal thing for final year students in cults writing their final exams

I lived in inner Ekosodin for most of my time in UNIBEN. If you focus on your studies, mind your business, don't join cult groups AND occasionally buy drinks for the guys who own the night, you will be left alone with no problems. They fight and kill themselves. In Ekosodin, we heard gun shots almost every night from cult groups servicing their weapons.

I agree with you. I won't agree I'm lying though, we just see this issue from different perspectives.

You were right. A lot of studies have shown that cultural isolation exists in western societies. The culture of the west is very different from that of African societies were people mingle easily. In most western societies, people keep to themselves. There was a recent story of a lady in London who died living alone in a flat, and it took a couple of years before her next door neighbour knew she was dead after she noticed maggots.

Hello Elders, I plan driving to London from the North East for the passport renewal of my wife and 3 kids.

We intend going a day before the appointment and then lodge at an hotel or airbnb. To avoid all the ulez, red zones, blue zones issues around central London(I drive a 2013 Citroën c4 hatchback), I'm thinking we should look for where to lodge in the outskirts of London. We can then get a bus or train early morning on the day of the appointment to the high commission. We also want the kids to visit one or two fun places in London before we return to our North. 😀

Elders, that have done this in the past, what's my best bet and which areas of London can we get an affordable accommodation for one night. Thanks as always.

I have just returned from a trip to London from the NE. You have made a good decision to lodge on the outskirts and use public transport to get into London. The 20mph speed limit in Central London almost made me loose my sanity. If it was designed to lessen the traffic in Central London, it certainly isn't working as the traffic is terrible even at 20mph. As for accommodation, try to book a decent aparthotel or Airbnb. The Central London hotel the company booked me in for a night was an absolute shit-hole.
