infact the Honda civic is so fuel efficient that I bought a full tank exactly a week ago and have been very busy and the fuel is just slightly less than half, bro believe no car beats the civic

Toyota Yaris even Hyundai Accent with 1.6L beats it by far

You might run into issues with the Police if the car you bought was stolen or has some kind of stories behind it due to the tampered VIN.
I've read cases where Police used scanner to compare VIN on the body and the ECU.
You might need to do an affidavit to drive the car with peace of mind.
The Accent should be compared with a Yaris and not Corolla.

Naija Police with Scanner? I haven't seen one in my life even in Abuja. Although, i have seen VIO check your plate number to confirmed if u have renew your papers. Moreover, the sticker on the driver Side has the same VIN with that on the papers. Like someone said, "Previous owner replaced ECU and didn't overwrite the VIN of the new ECU with that of the car" just that i had an experience yesterday, after an electrician work on the car, trying to fix my reverse light/camera the car doesn't accelerate when u press down the pedal(the car moves slowly in DRIVE and doesnt accelerate at all). when scanned i got an error of P2128, P0121,P0122,P0222,P2122,12127. Throttle position(TP) Sensor B/ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION (APP) SWITCH A - LOW INPUT..... SENSOR B CIRCUIT LOW INPUT. Am yet to fix it as at the time of posting this

Good morning,

Please I want to purchase a naija used Hyundai Accent 2013, what do I need to check out for. Thank you for the responses.

I Just purchased Naija Used Hyundai Accent 2013. But on inserting my scanner the VIN number it displays is different with the label VIN pasted on the car body. My mechanic told me the Catalyst is intact, shock absorber, break disk and some other stuffs are follow come... but the car suffered severe abused from its previous owner. No maintenance at all. Trying to fix the car . The fuel economy of the car is far better than Toyota Corolla, am really impressed

Your engine is burning oil.
Save for rebuild or replacement.

Yes o. Let him rebuild his engine. I did mine the first time, the mechanic is not a specialist at all within 6months oil keep drying up like no man business. Expensive fully synthetic oil for that matter. (he even advised me to use another oil and see) I went to a different mechanic to rebuid the engine. After driving for like 5months with 5,000 mileage. I changed the oil, still very much intact

Change that brake pipe or hose on the side that is always hot,if that pipe is having blockage it can hinder brake fluid from returning back when you depress your feet from the brake pedal thereby making it hard for the brake caliper piston not to return back as fast as it should. Talking from experience, that thing can be very frustrating,i went through this same process. Stop using that particular mechanic, look for mechanics that specialize only on brakes, they call them brake masters. Don't allow anybody to make you spend money anyhow again, change that pipe,it's not more than 1500,and please buy new one.

Thanks. I was thinking it was the flex hose & pipe too but it wasn't. I finally changed mechanic. I almost bought another Caliper, but the mechanic opened the Caliper and discover the rubber inside was oversized/bad, doesn't allow it to move freely. I gave him 1k to buy just another rubber and everything is very okay now. So, after all, the problem is still Caliper.

Thought you said you've changed everything there is to change and you were sure they fixed them well?
If the tyre is not rotating, then your calliper is binding.
Take it for physical inspection as planned.

will do that tomorrow. thanks. i haven't change the flex hose

At this point remote diagnosis would be impossible. Your brake system (with ABS delete) is not rocket science for it to be difficult to diagnose and fix.
I'd suggest you look for a competent mechanic in Abuja to help with it.

I have an observation. I jacked the other tyre up and the tyre rotate freely even with two fingers. But the driver side tyre is stocked once I accelerated and press the break. And switch off the car, with the car jacked up u CAN'Trotate the tyre. Should be locked up caliber by clogged brake Hose. I will visit a mechanic tomorrow to check.

Check your wheel bearings

Faulty wheel bearings can also generate such heat

that particular leg i have changed the wheel bearing of recent. in fact, i bought original wheel bearing. but no harm in examining it again. Thanks

Check all what I listed.
Also check caliper slide pins as well.

"Check your brake pedal and master for any foreign materials. Take them out if there is any." Remember i told u i changed the master. so, there is no foreign material. i will have the mechanic check the brake pedal. Thanks

The affected wheel is the closest wheel to the brak master. If you've changed all what you've listed and the problem still persist then the issues are likely elsewhere.
Kazeems are known to add extra layers of rubber and cloth materials in the rod that depressess the brake master when you step on the brakes. This reduces travel time on the pedal but creates unnecessary pressure in the brake line even with your foot off the pedal.
They are also known to adjust the brake pedals abnormally for same reasons.
Check your brake pedal and master for any foreign materials. Take them out if there is any.
You should also properly bleed the brake system (ABS inclusive if your car has one) as it can cause same issues.

Thanks. Before i changed the master, brake pedal sinks to the floor. But when i changed it, works okay now and the brake was properly bled. No ABS

Good morning.
I have Toyota corolla S, 2005. Automatic Transmission. I noticed the driver side brake disk is usually very hot, compare to the passenger side. (by pouring water, the driver side brake disk will sound as if u are frying plantain grin ) . my first mechanic told me the caliper is faulty. Hence i bought a BELGIUM Caliper, that didn't solve the issue. He now said, lets change master break. That it could be faulty. I bought New master brake, it didn't solve the issue. I also bought quality brake pad, still it didn't solve the issue(HE WAS DOING TRIAL AND ERROR -making me to spend money unnecessarily). So, i decided to visit another mechanic and via personal research online i discovered that bad rotors can make disk to be hot. i changed that specific side of the rotor, still it gets hot compare to the passenger side which is barely hot(Though the squeaking, squealing, and grinding sound stopped). what do you think could be the problem for the hotness. pls NOTE The following things that i replaced: 1. Caliper, 2. Brake pad, 3. Master Break, 4. Rotor.

I got the Airtel 5G smart box x250 pro in GSM village, Abuja, FCT. The guy unlocked it for me (50k plus the router), i tested mtn 5g works perfectly. But my observation are:
1. Got the sim registered and activated 15/12/2023. the guy told me it is 30gb free data. But to my surprised i used almost 400gb from that day till 31st Dec (without subscription). The dashboard reset monthly, from 1st JANUARY, 2024 till now that am posting this i have used 7gb data. (under Internet function, Traffic setting ) i set it to 1TB
2. In my location i get 5G network sometimes, at night, but the 4G+ Networks seems to be more decent in download than the 5G. (maybe because the 5G signal is not strong. just a bar). on speed test i get internet speed of 20Mbps. using utorrent to download, i get speed of 2.3mb
3. I use "Root" as username on my dashboard to login, that is to tell u the router is unlocked. and it has many amazing functionality, sms, usd, phonebook, management, etc. Under The network mode, it has "5G SA+NSA/4G/3G" and u can also select ONLY 3G, 4G, 5G SA, 5G NSA Etc. when u use the USSD on the dashboard and dial *312# and select my offer, i saw an amazing offer of 5k for 40gb for 30days. My Airtel Offer
1. N5000/40GB/30 days

In conclusion, i am enjoying the airtel 5G smart box router,(Better than my 5G mtn router experience) honestly right now i don't know what to download again grin grin grin. i only stream on my smart tv (NETFLIX) for now. AIRTEL A REASON TO IMAGINE cool cool

Most people just don't know the power given to police. Police na general law enforcement agency..

Can arrest you for any offence.

Police have power to arrest you with or without warrant that's why their ID cards are called warrant card.

Police can search you with or without warrant.

Police can perform military, custom, immigration, ndla, road safety, etc duties

In a country like Naija u will be correct. But Stricto sensu police doesn't have the power to do so, the Police Act didn't empower them to do so.
