Politics / Restructure Nigerians, Not Nigeria by macmos(m): 6:58am On Sep 21, 2016
Restructure Nigerians, not Nigeria
Many have come out to boldly call out for the restructuring of the country. They claim its a way out of the myriads of problems confronting us as a Nation.Alot of notable names have lent their voices to the regionalizing of the country so as to give each part full control of its natural resource especially the Niger Delta Region. Many have stood up to claim that the country as it is now has derailed from its past glory when we had it regionalized. Nigeria doesn't need to be fragmented further or restructured in order to live up to our status as the giant of Africa. This article is all about how we can achieve greatness without further decompartmentalization, but by addressing some common issues which we haven't paid closer attention to as a Nation
Tribalism in Nigeria now is at a very saddening high.We see different parts of the country label those of other tribes with derogatory names. The youths are worst hit by this tribalism epidemic. We are ever ready to conjure a plethora of inhumane appelations for our brothers and sisters from tribes that are not ours especially on various platforms of the social media
Another issue to be addressed is lack of the spirit of Nationalism amongst the Nigerian polity.Majority of Nigerians are only Nigerians by nomenclature and not by the heart.Nigerians do no longer believe in the Nigerian project.I bet most Nigerians would readily change their nationality to any country with better prospects who offers such opportunity. This is partly why Nigerians prefer to patronize foreign goods and emphasize all the bad things about made in Nigerian merchandise. The death of Nationalism gave birth to and is responsible for the growth of tribalism. This is why a Nigerian would first identify himself as an Igbo, a yoruba or hausa man including the over 250 ethnic nationalities before identifying as a Nigerian. The death of Nationalism also took another casualty and that is, the spirit of patriotism. Very few Nigerians are patriots. Most Nigerians wouldn't go the extra mile for the country if theres nothing in it for them. This is further shown in how Nigerians treat government property and even how politicians treat government infrastructure and institutions e.g dilapidated schools, stadiums and poorly equipped hospitals and death trap roads that abound in the country. This is also responsible for the wanton destruction of oil and power installations especially in the south south because they do not feel as part of the Nigerian project . Government at all levels should embark on a major campaign to eschew away the spirit of tribalism and ethnic sentiment and for all to embrace nationalism . Government should also introduce the history of Nigeria into the curriculum of schools in the country. Nigerians need to know the story of the independence and how the dreams of our founding fathers can be actualized.Nigerians need to know the story of the Civil War.We need to know the sacrifices made from all divides for our unity and what lessons we can learn from the war.Nigerians need to know the great political icons that have made positive and meaningful contributions for our sustained growth and how the upcoming generation can draw strength from their determination .
Nigeria can be better if it conquers corruption. If the current crop of our greedy, selfish, wicked and uncreative leaders were at the helm of affairs when we had the regions, I bet we would not have anything to say about those past glorious days.Fellow Nigerians rather than restructuring our nation, we need to restructure our values. We need to evaluate whats important and what's not and this must start from the very foundation of every society-the family. It should be of note that leaders during the regional times in which Nigeria flourished were a product of a balanced family system which promoted the right values and virtues of hard work, honesty, creativity and selflessness.
I've heard many a Nigerian youth complain bitterly about how we've been shortchanged by the older generation in our social contract. The older generation deem us unfit to handle Nigerian affairs aright. There are more than 30 million of us roaming the streets jobless and hopeless. When it comes to election times, we shy away from doing the needful or even accept to shortchange ourselves by taking peanuts from the older generation to install their crook friends in power instead of we taking charge.Dear Nigerian youths, the older generation would never give us a chance if we do not SPEAK TO BE HEARD.We speak to be heard when we do the needful during electioneering-vote credible people and defend your votes.we speak to be heard when we say no to stomach infrastructure and request for developmental governance. We speak to be heard when we submit ourselves to serve our fellow compatriots. Most Nigerian youths are ignorant of the fact that we are truly the leaders of tomorrow. when the older generation is gone, we have to take the lead but the truth is we are not ready and we don't really care and with that fact, the future of Nigeria still looks gloomy. If we do not collectively desire and work towards a new Nigeria, we have no future to look up to.The youths of today are the Nigeria of tomorrow just like our inept leaders of today were once irresponsible youths of yesterday.
Nigeria belongs to we all whether we like it or not . What ever we make of it will be borne by we all whether we like it or not . Let us all eschew tribalism. Let us show love to and support our brothers in the north east and donate towards the young ones starving and dying off there . Let us plead with our brothers in the Niger Delta region to quit bombing oil and power installations and sheath their swords because the use of violence will destroy more than the good we can ever achieve. Let us all demand for accountability on behalf of our Niger Deltan brothers from the political elite in the region to tell us how the billions invested there has been spent. Let us demand for justice from our political class that cannot pay pensioners and salary earners but can still afford to live in stupendous wealth. Let us demand for a new Nigeria brothers and sisters. Nigerian youths obey the clarion call and seize your own future.Nigerians, old and young let us restructure our mindset, eschew tribalism and embrace nationalism, shun corruption and start believing in the Nigerian project because without restructuring Nigerians, restructuring Nigeria will only be an exercise in futility

Federal University Oye-Ekiti(FUOYE) is purely on merit. The Federal University Oye-Ekiti as a centre of excellence admits candidates with the requisite qualifications for their programmes of choice.

Admission through UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) and some other criteria as listed :-
1. Minimum of Credit passes in Five (5) subjects including English Language at the SSCE, GCE O’Level and any other equivalent examinations.
2. UTME score of at least 180 in all Programmes

In addition to the above, candidates must make the Federal University Oye-Ekiti(FUOYE) their 1st and/or 2nd choice to qualify to write the Post-UTME Screening Test.

For final selection into programmes, the candidate’s average scores from the UTME and Post-UTME screening Tests are used.

The cut-off point for admission changes form programme to programme based on the overall performance of the candidates in the programme and is determined by the University before the release of the First(merit admission list).

Rymzo: QUOTA AMISSION FOR THOSE WITH LOW UTME SCORES:
Every year, 10% of the total number of those that get admission into universities with low utme do so via QUOTA. QUOTA is a space provided for senior staffs by the university senate committee to bring candidates regardless of their utme scores for admission under their names. If JAMB has decided to deny some of you admission this year, GOD will not and HE will make a way unless if you do not have the money to run for this. Its true its costly but if GOD says you will enter school this year, low utme score can't stop you, JAMB can't stop you. If you want to know more about this QUOTA, procedures, how much involved and how to secure one for yourself, simply call 08023960959 or chat with me on 2go via rymzocares. Goodluck.
Oga u r under my searchlight. People don't be over desperate to loss ur senses n won't be able to know scam from real assistance how would a score take any mark for utme. Pls be wise o.
One love. Don't dull.

Gaining admission to study into the University of Uyo is purely on merit. University of Uyo as a centre of excellence admits candidates with the requisite qualifications for their programmes of choice.
Admission through UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) and some other criteria as listed :-

1. Minimum of Credit passes in Five (5) subjects including English Language at the SSCE, GCE O’Level and any other equivalent examinations.
2. UTME score of at least 180 and above (Subject to change).
3. Post-UTME screening score of not less than 180 (Subject to Change).

In addition to the above, candidates must make University of Uyo 1st or 2nd choice to qualify to write the Post-UTME Screening Test.

Candidates who score less than 180 at the Post-UTME screening test are not eligible for admission into any programme in UNIUYO irrespective of any higher scores obtained at the UTME.

For final selection into programmes, the candidate’s average scores from the UTME and Post-UTME screening Tests are used.

Though the average score of 180 is the barest minimum for admission, the cut-off point changes form programme to programme based on the overall performance of the candidates in the programme.

hyelhira: JAMB/UTME 2013 result is out. Have you performed well? Congratulations! Was your performance average or so poor that it cannot guarantee your admission? What are you going to do about it? Here are your choices.

You can either stay at home for another year to write another JAMB/UTME and waste money on special centres with the same uncertainty of outcome. Or, you can take a wise step and find a practical and credible solution to your admission problem NOW!
We advise you to choose the wise course by seizing the opportunity presented by GCAB.

GCAB - GGA College of Accounting and Business offers a live changing opportunity for students struggling to gain admission through JAMB, by presenting a dual graduate programme that combines professional examination of ICAN and a BSc programme of NOUN through an integrated syllabus.

For further information, follow this link: http://www.ggacollege.org/contact-us/information-request-form/. (Serious students only as spaces are limited).
Sorry do u have permission from NOUN for this cos there was an issue with a centre like this in ilorin n to my best of knowledge NOUN don't give out such. And for your info ur solution is not for majority. So pls do somethings better for us here if u can.

Following the release of the JAMB 2013 Results, lamentations and cries have been coming from candidates whose results have been seized for one reason or the other. Some of the reasons why these results have been held back are as follows;

- No “Biometric Verification”
- No Result Yet
- You have exceeded your allowable five times access
- You were involved in wide spread cheating
- You were involved in using electronic devices

We will now attempt to tackle these issues one after the other, using information provided to us from various sources including JAMB officers.

No Biometric Verification

These are candidates who have been accused of not taking proper biometric (Thumb Print) verification. While some candidates may have been involved in impersonation (invalid thumb print) others were unable to thumb print at all due to any of the following reasons;
- Lack of power for machines
- Lack of Network
- Lack of time to conduct the exercise, ETC.
According to our sources in JAMB, these results are still under investigation. From what Myschool gathered, majority of results under this category will be released as it was clearly not the fault of the candidates.

Our sources disclosed that within the next 2 weeks, all result in this category will be sorted and released. A very small fraction however, will actually be held back if traces of impersonation was detected on an invalid thumb print. Those that will be appropriately screened for impersonation are those where the thumb printing exercise was successfully carried out.

Our advise to candidates in this category is to exercise some patience. If indeed any of the reasons stated above was the cause of not thumb printing, your result will definitely be released within 2 weeks, while some may begin seeing their results by the end of this week so check back by weekend (from 11th May). Please pray hard that your result will not be held back due to human error.

No Result Yet

Those in this category are different from those of biometric verification. While majority of those in biometric problem will have their results released, majority of those in this category were held back due to reports of cheating.

In this situation, only prayer is the key to releasing the result. Only a handful of the results in this category will be released. If you are in this category, you are advised to also check back at least every weekend and mid-week (Wednesday) starting from 11th May.

You have exceeded your allowable five times access

If you're in this category, you have no problem at all. The only issue is that you probably posted your JAMB registration number on a public platform or website and over 5 users of the website(s) have help you check your result (not knowing there was a limit).

There are 2 options available;
1. You can either visit all the platforms where you published your reg. number to help you check and see if there's a reply to your request.
2. You can get your original JAMB result slip.

Our advise for you however, is to take "Option 2" and get your original JAMB result slip. This is because whether or not you like it, you will still need to get your original JAMB result slip as this is the only document that accepted when you go for Post-UTME or Admission Screening because it has your registration passport on it. All JAMB candidates will require this document for Post-UTME. If you'll like Myschool to get it for you and mail it to you, click here to request yours

You were involved in wide spread cheating / using electronic devices / Copying / Absent / etc.

If you see this inscription while checking your result, just forget about the 2013 JAMB. It's either you start preparing for 2014 JAMB or seek other options such as pre-degree or diploma.

So whatever category you find yourself in, we hope we've been able to address your issues.

If you were successful in checking your result, whatever your score, click here to share your result so as to get advise from myschool and other students and aspirants.
