All, Happy Holidays I think people needs to realise some fact. First let me give you an analysis on the fuel money: 1) One barrel of Crude oil = 42gallons or 159 litres 2) Our Refineries (i.e 4) Installed (combined) capacity = 445,000 barrels per day 3) Actual refineries capacity due to ageing equipment = 30% i.e. 133,500 barrels per day 4) 133,500 barrels = 21.2 million litres 5) Local required consumption (F.O.S) =12millions litres 6) It means that even our MORIBOND refineries can actually meet our local consumption need of petroleum. 7) The cost structure of crude oil (i.e.Qua Iboe Crude Oil) production; - Findings / development - $3.5 - Production cost - $1.5 - Refining Cost - $12.6 - Pipeline/transportation - $1.5 - Distr/bridging fund Margin -$15.69 True cost of one litre of petroleum anywhere in Nigeria; - Total sum cost = $34.8 - 1ltr cost = $34.8/159 litres = $0.219 - Naira equiv. 0.219xN160= N35.02k - Add Tax N5 + N35.02 = N40.02 9) Let FGN refute the above composition and if not, they should tell us how they came about N65/litre. 10) Locally refined products cannot be sold at International price. 11) We really do not need FGN SUBSIDY as there was NONE in the first place. Secondly. 1. The Minister of Finance is a worker for the real cabal who owns the IMF and the World Bank, in their job the only patriotism they have is to the bank and the owners and not to any country or people. The first mandate or task that she got was to make sure they have a good share of the Nigeria fund grown under Baba Iyabo, so the result was a call for Baba Iyabo to do what has never been done before in the world, pay off Nigeria debt of 12Billion Dollars which was not there in the first place and the same poser was if paid Nigeria will have money to stop infant and maternal mortality and also get more money for infrastructure, Why do you think she was promoted immediately Baba iyabo sent her packing. Or she went out of the cabinet, because she has performed well in her assigned task but after paid what happen Nigeria even owe more now and we are the worst for it. 2. Same poser and confusion of figure manipulation was also thrown at GEJ face and but the confused fisher man do not have the gut but to succumb and ask all to start marketing subsidy and Naira devaluation. Well who went there to beg for her in the first place? Have you ever asked yourself why? This is to fall in line with the master projection of breaking the country, getting a military base here sucking the country dry and controlling everything in the country. And when all happens what will happen to the Class monitor Minister go back to her masters, get another promotion and live continue for another assignment. My problem in all these is that instead of some stupid animal to think deep they will rather read through and throw up sentiments of tribe culture and etc Do you know that US is preparing there sets of Military to be sent here already? Do you think CNN, BBC or aljazeerah will air new contrary to the masters wish? Think and think and Think. |

The election for the Republican party nominee who will challenge Barrack Obama is going on, and CNN is focusing on it. U.S. presidential election politics is big news and draws huge ratings, and the fuel subsidy protests are just not forceful enough to be given priority over it. |

Re: Why's Cnn Not Reporting The Protests? by ProfSule(m): 1:14pm On Jan 04, 2012 |
Cnn refused to report the protest because their pple re behind all that hv been happening in Nigeria, the boko haram attacks, d fuel subsidy removal nd lots more. They re doing all this in other to disintegrate us nd gain access to our grt nation, so that they can steal crude oil as much as they like. We must understand this, our president is their pet, he's controlled by them. |

Lekoile:I hope someone is taking all these seriously. Especially that we have been running 419 governments who claims they have been subsidising petrol since 1999. |

flanrey:True. I've been noticing even myself having to rely more and more on aljazeera in order to get a well balanced view of a news item. This happened ever since i learnt through reading marcus garvey's thoughts about how big corporations including news corps connive together to twist people's behaviour by giving them half truths mixed with lies, which is the most difficult to detect, even more than outright lies. |

CNN does not report any Africa protest that does not involve loss of lives. Had it being police are killing the protesters trust them they will show it live. Another thing i observed is that they hardly report any thing good about Nigerian economic policy |
Re: Why's Cnn Not Reporting The Protests? by Goddex: 3:08pm On Jan 04, 2012 |
There are no protests in Nigeria. Just a few sponsored thugs making noise and burning tyres for pressmen to take pictures. |

I doubt if Ive seen weather report on the American CNN in the past 48hrs. They've been so into the Iowa Cacus Elections and Nigerian fuel price hike protest will be the least of their interest now, guess the same goes for the local CNN. |
Re: Why's Cnn Not Reporting The Protests? by katib: 4:38pm On Jan 04, 2012 |
How can the imperilists media show your struggle when your so-called thrall president is taking this phantom subsidy order from them? It is only something that will fuel troulbe or portray us as backward people that they are interested in. To them to hell with your genuine feelings and sufferings as long as there are no interests for them. In any case it was you who voted for this wahala not them! it can't happen in their country. Next time vote based on competence, poor Nigerians |

efisher: A dumb reply. Nigerians are protesting because of the callous manner in which the subsidy was removed. |

CNN is a medium for the us hence it will not report anything that does not affect their country negatively, and im quite sure that they dont care about what nigeria is going through unless ofcourse it will affect the us economy |

Over time, I've noticed that CNN and BBC always report issues concerning Nigeria in the worst possible way, making it seem worse than it actually is. Sometimes I wonder if its thesame country i reside in thats being talked about that way. My people, we are better of without their reports, I am satisfied with my Al-Jazeera, Ait and Channels |
Re: Why's Cnn Not Reporting The Protests? by godfadda6(m): 1:41am On Jan 05, 2012 |
why would CNN report the protest? We have forgotten that Nigerian made them fire one of their "best african" reporter, Jeff Konage, when the told us the story about the militants, the first real video we saw of the creeks. And Frank Iweke threatened them, they just hands of any "big story" from Nigeria. And i'm sure Christain Purefoy was tired of getting footage that will be censored, Thats what I think sha! |
