Mimiko was not overrated..He focused in few major sectors and he left indelible in health, housing, commerce and education...
If you say so, but for me I strongly think he could do more as a governor.

I don't engage in baseless arguments. But please Show us a local government chairman that has executed projects like Dualization of road in Nigeria.

How else do you want him to take care of the welfare of the people after clearing backlog of salaries owed by the previous administration and still paying the current salaries as and when due? How else do you want him to take of the people after creating jobs, making Healthcare affordable, upgrading the infrastructure of the state, Building more roads so that the people won't be travelling on bad roads etc.? I guess you want him to share the state's resources among the people and do stomach infrastructure like the Old ways. The present Ondo State is no longer a state of Stomach Infrastructure. The good of people who are being impacted by Aketi's Midas Touch in Ondo State are waiting for October 10 election day so that they can reelect. We are going higher with Aketi. O sure ju!

Its sad to know that the person I'm engaging is not as intelligent as I thought he is. Visit your post again read through and highlight where dualisation of road is written.

Let me think for you,... Some of the road constructed are dual carriage.... very good, clap for yourself. The question is how many kilometer is each of these roads? These are just normal street roads that a Sanwolu does everyday, and you want me to celebrate this as achievements for a governor of an oil producing state. Really, its a shame.

I'm sure you don't work in the state civil service. Its very easy to be paid to spread propaganda. Come and feel what Civil servants are feeling under Akeredolu if you will still have the heart to sustain this propaganda.

Like I said earlier, Ondo people are very delicate people. Ondo people don't make noise, but they know exactly where they are going.

We await election day.

Mr Governor worked and all what you listed truly exist. No doubt. But you and I know that in politics, the political party that brought you in to power and the people that worked for your election must be carried along during your government. I'm not talking about sharing of money. I'm talking of government of inclusion. A lot of the people that worked for Aketi feel like orphans in his government. The Governor deserves a second term for the works he has done, but you need a political party and politicians to win an election. The Governor needs to work hard on bringing reputable politicians to rally around him, and he needs to do more to gain grounds at the grassroot in the Party (APC). I wish Aketi all the best.

That's the problem, he has never been a grassroot man, and he can never be. He is also not a politician and he is not willing to learn. He was gifted the position, but I doubt he will get such goodwill again.

Don't mind the clueless media we have...Mimiko's legacies had been debauched by this man the media are praising...The University of Medical sciences teaching Hospital for over fours years since Mimiko left is still an eyesore...Those students may end up spending 10 years or more with what I saw there last month..If I were part of the their medical school accreditation team, I would scored them 10/100...The press is part of our problem in this country as most of them are asslickers.
God bless you. As far as I'm concerned, even Mimiko was overrated. So when we say he is better than this one there now, you know its so terrible.
Hungry press you mean? They are at work again, see them celebrating mediocre achievements

And many many more. I can go on and on.
But these are not projects meant to be counted as an achievement by a state governor of an oil producing state. These projects are meant to be undertaken by the local government chairmen. Projects like these were part of the reasons why some of us never really supported Mimiko for second term despite the media propaganda. Aketi is recycling thesame method and he may not just succeed, Ondo people are wiser now. If he wants to test his popularity, he should go and tell this stories to ondo state students, Rufus Giwa poly and AAUA; he should go say same to Poly lecturers. See, a governor that fails in term of the welfare of his people has failed completely because it is fundamental. I can bet Akeredolu can not win Owo local govt not to talk of winning the state election. You know we don't make noise, we quietly await the election day.

Thanks.

Is uranium-thorium reliable?

Are all these fossils which scientists estimate to be millions of years old really that old? I will really like to know.
Science is factual
Learning is a continuum
So until a better argument comes to displace the present one, with evidences, its an accepted fact
However facts may not be truth
There used to be facts in the past that has been effectively dispelled, but until then, it was accepted.
It is worthy of note though that there are other methods of dating of rocks and fossils, though not absolute, but they suggest these submissions are not far from being correct.

There are relative dating that gives idea of materials and structures are relative to one another. There are principles and laws that guide this. Check out uniformitarianism

Science is gradually turning out to be a joke as the day goes by.

Meanwhile, OP, when you say pic, I wasn't expecting to see pictures of bones but pictures of the fish itself.
Just type fossils on google, you will find out

Its called radio active dating sir. Rubidium, Strontium, and many other radioactive elements. But for organic substances, carbon 14 dating is mostly used

You think the banker became ill and died 2 days after? Do you know how long the banker has been asymptomatic while also spreading the disease till the virus defeated his defenses and he died?

I am ashamed and i feel very for Africans. Look at black monkeys marching to their graves i don't know where they're going to.

Let the leaders declear a complete national lock down for fourteen days, let all and sundry adhere irrespective of class. The only mention of class should be that that rich are providing palliatives for the less privilege and vulnerable, in addition to government indiscriminate provision for the people, with all sincerity and not for show off. Tell me the economy will suffer, Yes I know, but it's better than losing people and still eventually losing the economy we so much want to safe guard, and in fact what is the economy without the people?

That was then, this days the banking industry is a big life saver after the education sector. They especially consider the engineering g guys because they feel they will be good with calculations, plus they will be easy to train.
I know at least four of my colleagues whom we studied geology together, who are in the banking sector.
In fact the manager of my university branch of one of the new generation banks when I was in school was the best graduating student in that same Geology department in his own time. Like somebody said, they no they tell person now o. As I like oil company or university reach, nobody teach me when time reach before I swerve.

Good day great intellectuals of Nairaland.

Overtime, I have seen people on this forum address issues on/for/about people with 2.2 and 3rd class and advice them on what to do next, however neglecting the 2.1 and 1st class category.

As a recent graduate, the future looks bleak. I would like matured advice on the next step and how to move forward from here. As you know, every decision at this point is quite critical.

I graduated from Mechanical Engineering department. Engineering professionals, your views are welcome here please.
Its really sad brother. We heard stories of how our parents finished with similar grades and were handed fat pay jobs immediately they graduated. These stories spurred us to work very hard denying oneself of many pleasures in school plus plenty of extra curricular activities, only to graduate and discover a very different reality. You're not confused, it's just normal, I was once there.
Solution: pray, hustle, apply for jobs.
I'm benefited from the third. I got a federal government job without knowing anyone. We will all not be that lucky, just apply, have an open mind, you may just be lucky.
The other one I didn't do and I still feel bad about is to hustle. Bro, hustle, there is money on the street, no be yahoo o, legit money. You're a mechanical engineer, go learn the real thing from mechanic on the street or welder or refrigeration or generator, pick your option. In six months you should be proficient if you're truly smart...you have gotten skill. Go learn from is car section now, please correct me if I'm wrong, I hope you get, learn from YouTube....that way you will get latest info. Get tools.
With all these, you are armed to start your own business. Don't mind the days of humble beginning, you will succeed, if you are dedicated and honest. Your communication skill, your professional touch, yoir packaging will make the difference from the road side guys, and it will give you the edge. Your customers will be the upper class in the society and you will do good.
The journey may be rough, but you will surely get there.
In the interim, you will need money to get basic things, so learn dropshipping, publishing, domain selling, mini importation, any small thing that will not take to much of your time and will be able to sort your basic need and foot some of your running cost while you push to getting your goal.
Lastly and most importantly PRAY.
I hope this helps. I was almost suicidal after NYSC when i finished and everything was just zero, so I sort of understand you. Its well, you will be fine.
Nigeria will be great again!
