The church should be ready for the final move of God in these last days and DLBC should strive not to be left behind in this move of the spirit. The Bible says in Joel 2.28 that in the also days God will pour out His spirit on all flesh. Guess we haven't quite understood that prophesy.

Go and sit down.

Move ,ko

Lol

Is this what a supposed Dlbc member is meant to say??

When did church turn to a place of Concert or rather Enjoyment??.

Why has the same Catholic Church we all castigate refused to change their way of worship??....

Church isn't about gathering crowd.... It's all about the impact being made in the lives of people and making them ready for the Kingdom.... It's really bad if you change your doctrine or standard just to keep members in the church.

I'm not saying the church is derailing on it's doctrine but this your statement no follow at all.

And before you come for me.... I was born and brought up in the church and still a member.

God will help us.

If I may ask, what was wrong with the ministrations of Don Moen, Nathaniel Bassey and Dunsin Oyekan when they came to Deeper life and how did they not advocate modesty with the way they and their band dressed to the programme? I can only compare some of these Deeper life members like this protester to the Pharisees in the Bible who called Jesus all sorts of names, thinking they are the holy ones.

The anti-indecency campaigner and deeper life member, Prince Dele Banjo has staged a peaceful protest at the Deeper Life Headquarters at Gbagada, Lagos.

The protest is in connection with the introduction of unconventional music to Deeper Life.

Prince Dele Banjo stated:

"We are surprised about the introduction of unconventional music as well as the invitation of Gospel rock stars to Deeper Life. We are also surprised about the invitation of local Christian musicians that are not advocates of modesty to deeper life.

We are surprised because pastor Kumuyi who is our father in the Lord did not raise us his children with such music. Instead, he raised us with modesty, holiness and the belief that we should worship God with our book of hymns alone using low toned and humble songs.

Pastor Kumuyi was the one that taught us all we know about modesty and holiness, so we are surprised that our teacher is changing direction and he is inviting international Gospel rock stars and local musicians that are not advocates of modesty to come and sing at deeper life.

We strongly believe that as a holiness church, deeper life ought to stick with our choir and our God given hymn book alone. We don't need unnecessary noise from these American gospel rockstars and these local Christian musicians.

Our God given and humble choir at deeper life that consists of those lovely teenagers, keyboardists and trumpeters is enough for us at deeper life.

Since he is our father in the Lord, we hereby request an explanation from him; we want to our dear father in the Lord to defend the invitation of rockstars and local Christian musicians that are not advocates of modesty.

We hold in our hands the book of hymns in order to prove to everyone that all we need in deeper life is our God given book of hymns.

Thank you very much"
one word for him..... Be innovative or die out!

Instead of following the teachings in the bible, you followed the teachings of your pastor. "Man of God" syndrome turned you to a fanatic. Your problem.

Brother, as a young man born in Deeper life Bible Church in the Early '80s and Grommed in DLBC until 2004 when I moved to The Lords Chosen, I must say you have a very Valid Protest!

I Perceive God is using you to Pass a Very Strong Message to HIS Church and HIS servant. The ways of GOD ALMIGHTY are not the ways of Men.
The ALMIGHTY HOLY GOD will not change HIS Standard because of a Changing World.

I Pray HIS Servant and one of the Core Holiness Apostles and Generals of this Generation, Pastor WF Kumuyi takes note of this Peaceful Protest.
What is a valid point? Even as a former central youth choir member, I can tell you that all the songs will sing were originally sung by some rock stars gospel singers which we rearranged. Baba knows after his glorious exit the church will have a tough time to breakage. Baba has realized his fluxes and wanted to correct them.

Even though the musicians invited is not a wrong move, but it's a wrong move for kumuyi because he had never believed in such.

You said some thought provoking things.
I tried to put myself in the shoes of the old members that were denied some things, I would feel bad because I know I lost a lot of things and missed out on a lot of things and opportunities due to the church's teachings which are now being changed. I might even be bitter about the changes.

Denied what exactly? Were they not having personal convictions? Were they not taught to have personal convictions and relationships with God? What exactly have they missed? Open your eyes Bruva.

UNTIL WE SEPARATE BUSINESS FROM RELIGION, THESE KIND OF PROBLEMS WOULD NEVER CEASE.

PRIVATE OWNERSHIP OF CHURCH IS EQUAL PRIVATE JET, EQUAL PRIVATE UNIVERSITY, EQUAL PRIVATE BANK, EQUAL PRIVATE BILLIONAIRES IN DOLLARS ETC.
ONE-MAN OWNERSHIP OF CHURCH SHOULD BE ABOLISHED.

FG/CAC SHOULD NEVER REGISTER ANY CHURCH AND SHOULD WITHDRAWAL EXISTING PERMITS FROM PRIVATE CHURCHES.

THE JEWISH AUTHORITIES SHOULD BY THE ON BODY TO AUTHORIZE SETTING UP OF NEW CHURCHES AND REGULATION OF SAME

This alaye with the protests is no knower of God.

I have seen miracles happen in gospel concerts, I have seen burden listed during church worship session (personal experience) lives have been impacted with songs and worships….can we say these impactions are not from God because drums, percussions, Guitars and the rest are used?

Brother Kumuyi, like every good businessman is restrategizing and following the market trends so I wonder why the sheeples are getting their panties in a bunch over good business practices

I'd which people will go back to their root which is Catholic Church, and try to understand the teachings and the values of the church instead of being played by this gangs of ruthless business men.

Pator david Ibiyeomi built home for the elderly people and handed it over to the Catholic Church. He wasn't stupid neither are you wiser than him.

Don't expect all this pastors to tell the truth you want to hear, not even pastor David Ibiyeomi will tell you the truth you want hear because it means his business will be on the line.

They know the truth but will never speak up to protect their business.

Business men in deed.

I have defended this on Facebook that that 'old religion received from our old patriachs of faith and preached, practised and felt in deeper life church is what we want.
Jesus owns a church,God can and is still using,no one is irreplaceable.
Was born into DLBC in the 80s, remembered travelling in molue with other brethren to attend church services every Sundays and how we sang such heavenly inspired hymns as
"What is the hope you have
The kingdom of God
Is the hope I have
The kingdom of God"

Also remembered how as I got lost (about 5 years) then in such a mammoth crowd after close of church services and announcement made over missing but found child(me) happened twice,my parents, dad saw all as holy adventures

The doctrines strict,if some say so,but good for disciplining the soul. Its helping us today and should be sustained.

Don't mind all these hypocrisies in the church, the songs of these rock stars gospel singers are sung in the choir particularly the youth wing of the church. They often listen to them and rearrange the song or sing without rearranging them.

Did I say there's anything bad in what the Church Did??

I only said they shouldn't deviate from it's stand on holiness.

This isn't the first time they're inviting a gospel musician to the church na... Frank Edwards once graced a Deeper Life Crusade in Lagos.

You mean Sanwi Olu cannot mount the alter, but Osinbajo can because he is an ordained pastor aiding and abetting all sort of atrocities in a government he is fully part of.

Between Osinbajo and Ashawo Olu, who should be far away from the pulpit?

If you could grab my statement... You'll know that politicians sitting on the Altar is very bad.

The Altar is the most sacred place in the house of God and with the type of politicians we have in Nigeria... Hmmmmm

I was groomed in Deeper life from my teenage to adulthood. I was at Ayobo, Deeper life Bible school and attended many workers meetings from 1985 to 1999.

The truth is that some things are falling apart. I don't know whether it's because of the age of our Daddy in the Lord. But his recent romance with politicians and other worldly minded musicians and individuals is raising alarms in the minds of his children both in Deeper life and other churches.

The protest is apt and valid
My intention was just to read through and Waka pass.

But let me quickly weigh in on this.

True, pastor Kumuyi is now an old man. Soon he will leave the stage, and a younger pastor will take the baton.

This new pastor will do all these things people are criticizing Kumuyi for now and it may lead to schism in the church. You will be hearing things like " this man is deviating from the faith of our father in the Lord, " "he is removing the ancient landmark which Kumuyi has set up" etc

So Pastor is trying to make all these changes by himself and absorb all the criticisms, so that the new guy will have a soft landing and people will not be surprised when he moves in a new direction.

The new pastor will definitely have a different style than Kumuyi. A different approach to ministry and worship. But the same doctrine, the same message (Jesus only), the same Lord.
