If they didn’t care to run the needed procedure in the hospital they were in then it wasn’t an emergency to begin with. I’ve never heard of a fracture victim having to wait in one hospital because another institution could handle the situation better.

Road safety officers are educated and learned, u see those Tinubu thug called lastma, if they descend on u. Nothing would make them free u.
There was a day I was driving around ikeja, I didn’t really know d road so well, so I parked beside a guy to tell him where I was going and maybe he could show me d way, with 10secs, d guy I was asking questions unknown to me held clamp, he stylishly threw the clamp under my tyre. And told me the place is a no parking zone. Before I knew it 5 of them came out from a corner and drove me down to their office.
To them extort as many as u can in any way u can.
Some will purposely show u d wrong way and d his partner will be waiting to descend on u at the other end .
Ask Uber/bolt drivers, they have frustrated most of them.
I heard d ones at airport ikeja, purposely book Ubers and wait for d Uber to pick them along the road , so dey could arrest him. Imagine ur passenger arresting u for waiting to pick him up along the road.

May God bless the Road Safety guy that stopped me because my passenger was not puting on seat belt but remove all charges from me when I told him my wife was in the hospital and that I had spent so much on the medical bill.

The guy asked me for the receipt of the medical bill of which I gave him. He confirmed and told me to go.

We still have good people on uniforms.

I know of 3 major judgements;
The People's
The Law and
The Almighty God judgement .

LASTMA are very notorious when it comes to extortion like every other agencies everywhere in Nigeria I totally agree with that, I could remember what Amaechis TIMARIV did to people here in rivers state and the worst now is Wike task force just to mention the one around me or na Anambra own you wan talk ?

The fact is that I can never condemn these guys totally cos I don't want God to condemn me. Nigerians are equally notorious in general when it comes to breaking of traffic laws which is very dangerous to our lives . I was driving towards mile one flyover from SPAR here in PH and on getting to the trafic light it shows green and was almost fainted on wheel when a diver coming from Mile one suddenly ignored the red light on his side and crossed the road with speed to evade the traffic police .... I thought I was dead ! so I know what people do on the road .

I was not there and I don't know how it happened ... I pray to Almighty Allah to grant the Alhaji rest but his family don't have a case.

imagine from the sons statement that he disobey traffic . disobedient to trafic is equivalent to suicide . when you disobey traffic while thinking you're alone on the road and you do anyhow then the other man was coming with speed thinking the road was free for him nd sudenly you crossed him , you colide and kill yourself and still kill that your hypertensive father .

let's be patient on the road , there is no short cut to success, it will never end well .

God bless you for having a clear head, can you see how sentiment has blocked clear reasoning from many black people? If it was an emergency why was he going to collect his daughter's result first before going to lekki to meet his own doctor?

Nobody's saying don't punish them, or they didn't commit the offense. They should have first let them clear the medical emergency then charge them for breaking the traffic. If you have a wife that's in labor in the middle of the night and you have to get her down to the hospital, bro trust me traffic rules would be the least of your worries at that point. But let's throw away our humanity �

You guys are blaming LASTMA, there is another Sheriff in town who has taken over LASTAMA job.

They are on every imaginable road moving around with towing van in commando style and are bent on taking your car. They work and attach from every LCDA office in lagos coming with a fine of 50,000 for no real offence as long as you were able to be kidnapped to that office.

My experience last week along international airport road by NAHCO will forever be remembered. They took over my car in commando style for no real offence and drove me to Munshin LCDA.

Atleast before LASTMA picks you They will argue our an offence with evidence but these criminals will not. Lord have mercy on us.

Which is better- to let a violator go on doubtful but critical excuse or let him die in case the excuse is genuine? They always take every case as if it's personal and would not allow any benefits of doubts.

I agree with you on this one. I have experienced that as well. So unfortunate.

I dont want to sound tribalistic, but if you are non-yoruba and commits a traffic offence, the way LASTMA will deal with you ehh. It is not that they dont arrest Yorubas, they do, especially if you are a working class with nice ride. What I have noticed is that, if you cannot communicate well with them in Yoruba, especially those elderly LASTMA people with tribal marks, your own don finish. Then the Muslim domination of the rank and file of LASMA. Once you are a typical Yoruba muslim guy and flow well with them, you are sure of going free with little penalty, else na for Oshodi, their head office, you go see your car and bail it with N50k upwards with all the stress.

They picked me one time at Falomo, Ikoyi as I was about to drop one guy that joined me from mainland. They drove my car to their Sura office in Island. I had to pay N20K to pick it up.
