You sef dey talk too much. Why tell him that you have sold it to someone else.

Should have just told him that you are no longer selling the TV and refund him his money. You didn't owe him any explanation
It would have been better... then wait if he adds up to the 400k or do your refund.

Being too honest in business only profits the buyer. A very honest seller always gets burnt.

You see some people telling potential buyers how much they bought an item from the market. Too much information.

Gazzuz i know how you feel. Cheated, please just take it as a lesson. Let his conscience judge him. Allow this to go. Don't make it a case as some are expecting you to do. I know the name Gazzuz not today so bro life goes on. More profitable deals coming. Next year will be smooth. This case is like that of couples, one will be bragging that he cannot tolerate some attitude from his or her partner when discussing with friends but when you go to their house, they endure way more.. Don't let the gingers here to let u make it a case.

Na wa o. Do you know even the seller will not agree with you what you typed here.
Was there an agreement?
Did the buyer pay?
Did the seller confirmed receipt of funds?
Did the buyer say TV has been sold on nairaland publicly?
Did he sell the tv to himself?
Who did he sell it to?
Who is now the new owner?
Let's be calming down and have some conscience nah.

The seller should just pacify the buyer and bury the case.

The way gazzu..z was begging and desperate for it to be sold to him at 400K,it was very clear that he knew that it was faaaaaar below its normal price and he wanted to make a hoooge gain by reselling it. So the seller too must have taken note of that and wanted to make sure he got a better offer, even after he had been pressured by Gaz to agree for 400K. That's my most honest take judging from the screenshots.

Re: by Calibrator: 8:24pm On Dec 23, 2022
Honestly I initially thought it was a dog eat dog kind of deal but my opinion changed when I got to the part where the seller sold in knowledge that the TV was going to be resold (for what, if not profit?) and the buyer was even telling the seller to bring customers for the TV.

I don't have the moral justification to pass judgement, just pointing out my observations.

Shalom!

Please keep quiet, your stupidity is beginning to stink. You are the big butt licker here. Seller sold someone's property, what do we call that if not fraud.

If he's so pained, he should collect demurrage fees but not sell another person's Tv especially when it was stated that he can resell it even though it's still with the seller.

@gazzuzz please take this all the way. The defense of bad deeds is so disgusting. angry

Hope this issue ends quietly, it's been overflogged....
Both of them were wrong, starting with the SELLER please you should have simply told him you don't wanna sell again than saying you resold it and moreover don't sell what has been paid for no matter what. Even a little 10k from your new sales gain might have ended it all with a laugh.
Then Gazzuzz, he sold the item to you with double mind (he was on drastic loss and he wasn't happy because even the loss price he needed you still beat it down) but with your chat you unknowingly by trying to resell what's still in his possession for a bigger price remade him think that he's losing big time directly in his face.
The country is hard anyone can do what he did but we try as much as possible to be honest but still you triggered the negative side to an already frustrating mind. Please both of you should take your corrections and do your next business modestly.

Let me try to make you see the trick the seller played.

Before selling the TV, the full risk was on the seller.

He was selling the TV with the full knowledge that it was going to be resold. He needed quick cash and wasn't sure he could sell at a higher price even if he waited. He acknowledged others coming to him were offering the same 400k. He also acknowledged the fact that the buyer had a wider customer base and it was going to be 'easier' for him to resell, might just take time, which was what the seller didn't have luxury of.

Seller agreed to the 400k after negotiations, which the buyer sent, and at that point the seller transferred the risk to be buyer.

So he now has a backup payment, and still used delivery period to buy time to resell a product that had already been bought knowing fully well he is no longer carrying the risk involved with selling the product.

People make bad business decisions every single day. The seller was unwilling to hold on to the product for longer and made a hasty decision to sell at a way lower price. That's not the buyer's fault, he saw a good investment and maximized it. He took a risk, a risk the seller was not willing to take until he got hold of the buyer's funds as a backup.

Only criminals will defend bad business ethics and judgement as being 'smart'.

I rest my case.

It is quite surprising that you guys know and have done a business transaction as heavy as a car purchase. Very surprising. I can also see he reached out to you first because he knows you are the one capable of parting with the money at once. Very unfair of him to act like he was under the influence of juju all through the business process.

He should have done better, but then, just let it go.
