Hyacinth Alia, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has won the Benue state governorship election.

Ali, a reverend father, garnered 473,933 votes to defeat Titus Uba, the candidate of the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP), who polled 223,913 votes, to be declared the winner on Monday.

Herman Hembe of the Labour Party (LP) scored 41,881 votes.

I hope he will deliver, all we want in Benue is peace, good governance and dividends of democracy.

He should not forget the people of IGEDE and their plights.

Herdsmen have been attacking Benue villages since 1999, it didn't start with APC government. Gov. Ortom really messed up big time, if there was award for failure Ortom will come first, second and third and he's the leader of PDP in Benue, so don't blame Benue people for kicking PDP out.

Good one. Let's see if he would rule with the fear of God. There was Rev. Moses Adasu before him. I think Benue likes the men of God. In Taraba the reign of Rev Jolly Tevoru Nyame was a disaster as he proved to be one of them and paid for it.

He doesnt have control over security, so there is little he can do in terms of peace and security. If he wants some security moves, if they arent approved by Abuja, those moves wont fly. He also cant control his borders. So, he is handicaped in security issue

Ortom is a loser just like Obi. Ortom lost his Senate sit and had been kicked out. Look at how he ended for supporting Obi. He made a monumental.mistake by aligning with Obi. He should have worked with APC at the presidential. Even at that Tinubu won his state at the presidential elections.

Congrats to APC candidate. A distinguished gentleman. Next time Ortom should learn from Wike and Makinde. They are both smiling now. Follow who know Road... Wike and Makinde know Road. No follow Obi o.

One surprising thing about OBIDIENT boys and girls is that, they don't have voter's card. They just analyse how they will win like Ole the former Man U coach.
My obidient cousin brother is Lagos who cannot spend three weeks in our village is complaining about Tinubu in Tinubu's Lagos.
I told him please if you are tired return home because if you can't wear trouser you can pull it and the truth is that it's either you follow you Imam/Pastor/any religious leader or change Mosque/church/place of worship.
Ibo boys should go back to their state if they are tired of Tinubu's Lagos.
Me I'm happy in Kano and the choice of Kano people is my choice
