Hello. Can you please add me to the Telegram group. I submitted my EB-2 petition about 2 months. Hoping for the best.

Adidee:

Hi
You are qualified and would advise you do not waste time in filing due to the retrogression.
You can send a message let me add you to some telegram groups.

You can also do free evaluation with Ellis Porter if you would want to employ their services.

All the best!

That's good news. Let's see if there'll be movement at the Lagos Embassy. I'm not aware of any group that has details on date availability, and looking for as well.
There's definitely a group of EB and family based people that have expedited their case, they seem to check daily to notify one another if there's availabilty of date. Will be on the look out.

Already in the 10th month

DOL? are you Referring to prevailing wage determination or PERM certification if it's PERM, they are currently working on PERM filed in the month of September 2022. should probably get your PERM approval by next month [average processing time as of June 30th = 10 months..]. If it's prevailing wage, they are currently approving cases filed in January 2023 for OEWS (Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics) vs September 2022 for Non-OEWS cases (Fancy word for data by DOL survey used for your salary detemination. some private employers use other benchmark aka NOn-OEWS). If you have time go through trackittdotcom, search through the Atlanta PERM section to keep up with fellow peeps going through the same thing you are going through. Google September 2022 PERM tracker on trackitt , scroll down to page 41-60 there should be a google docs link (July 2022- December 2022 perm) where people update there perm approval. Check every other day to get an idea when your perm should be approved in September the earliest. @KEMSYDA any update? no dey peep alone grin grin

banned by spambot after i posted this . i probably broke a rule not sure what that was about.

Good day great minds I'm happy I came across this thread. You all have been doing great jobs, please keep it up, may God bless you.

I want to start a processing for my wife (I-140 NIW) but I need someone to help me along the line.
My wife is an academic scholar with some outstanding records. She studied Guidance and Counseling. She was awarded the best student with highest the cgpa during her undergraduate studies and hopefully she'll get an award as well in her just concluded msc.
She has published a paper and now she's working as counselor in a very reputable school (Redeemer's International Academy).

I don't know if all these achievements are enough to meet up with the requirements.

Please I need some clarification. Thanks

Navigating the visa process can be quite daunting, especially when it comes to employment-based immigration like EB-1, EB-2, or EB-3. The paperwork, interviews, and not to mention, getting your visa photo right according to the requirements can be stressful. I remember when I was going through the process, getting the right photo seemed like a big task. I discovered a resource that made it easier, though. Photogov, it's an AI-powered service that provides a solution for creating an online visa photo right from your phone. The best part is, it ensures your photo meets all the official requirements of the specific visa type. Here's the link to it. A real lifesaver for me during my process.

I thought only NVC can schedule immigrant visa appointments. Can someone please confirm if is possible to search for availability and book one by yourself without NVC?

H1b is a non-immigrant visa. Eb3 is retrogressed till May 2020.
https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Bulletins/visabulletin_August2023.pdf .. As for Eb3, check the thread for nurses USA on nairaland.

Edited: Eb3 dates may not move in upcoming september bulletin. So i will suggest you look out for October visa bulletin which should be out by 2nd week in september. The dates may move forward as the fiscal year starts in October. visa bulletin for a month comes up a month before that month.

It's not that complicated. If you are eligible to have your case expedited. You write to NVc who forwards it to your local embassy /consulate (The consulate approves expedited process or deny based on the grounds of case expedition request) You can only search for availability of dates on your Local US embassy platform if your expedited request has been approved. that can be a bit challenging as well to keep looking for dates.

Yes. That's the general knowledge, October being the fiscal year, we expect things to ease up.
I'm changing plans though, to UK. When we get to UK, we do the US process. UK is faster

Please, I need more clarification on the issue of police clearance. @SAYOSOLA @adedammy009, have you also completed your NVC stage? Others also, Please help

1) Do you mean one needs to provide fingerprint for the police clearance be issued? Or I have to upload fingerprints separately to NVC portal while submitting the police clearance?
Please, can you explain the fingerprint aspect?

2) Also, please, what is the validity of police clearance, and how long could it be obtained before submission?

My case (EB2 NIW) was sent to NVC on 03.08.2023. I am now tyring to prepare/gather documents to that I can submit as fast as I can when NVC create my case.

Thank you.
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I'm on EB2-NIW. I haven't gotten any headway with an expedite. The requirements for expedite seem a bit more difficult to justify with a self-petition. I'm open to advice on how to proceed with this...

With the NVC docs, it is best to double check the requirements before submission so that NVC doesn't request for additional information. For example, I had to submit the police clearance twice because I didn't include the fingerprints. That added an extra month before getting DQ.

Congrats on your case being sent to NVC. Ensure that the police certificate you get includes fingerprints. I hear there a new version out that doesn't include the fingerprints. You need to insist that you need fingerprints as well, or NVC may request for more information after submission.

From my understanding, the police certificate is valid with the consulate for 2 years, even though 3 months is written on it.

Good luck.

Congratulations on sending your case to NVC.

Fingerprints does not appear on the police clearance certificate (pls correct me if I am wrong).

The finger prints are taken during capturing and in the backend, with the reference number, that could be validated.

Hello my people, please would like to know if anyone lost their job while their i140 was awaiting approval?
I applied from the UK, my PD is 1st of June but I lost my job in the same month.
Though I'm interviewing for a new job in the same field as my proposed endeavour, I would appreciate it if anyone could help with any info or ideas on how to update my pending i140 or inform USCIS of the change of employer if need be.
Better still, would really appreciate any ideas or suggestions from anyone on what I should do so that my pending i140 won't get denied as a result of job loss.

Sorry about your job loss, but I don’t think that is going to be a factor in considering your application for NIW.

@Mogullet sorry to hear about that. what category is the I-140 pending approval ? EB1vs Eb-2NIW vs EB2 employer petitioned vs EB3 not clear from the statement you made. response on this will better inform suggestions if there is any to be given.

Take this with a BOATLOAD OF SALT ;I'm not an immigration attorney!!!!! . for an approved I-140, it is possible to retain the priority date of the I-140 petition approved so long it's within stipulated validity period ( this is where someone more knowledgeable in the thread can chip in.Also, look through threads/ forum of South east asians non-immigrants on H1-b, they have more nuanced information on switching jobs with I-140 approvals. You may get better info on how to proceed with this)

edit: long run sentence on my part.

Good day all.
I have a couple of questions.

1. As a 27yr Nigerian trained MSc degree holder in political science, am i eligible for the EB2-NIW route?

2. How do i get a job, accommodation when i get there?

3. Can i start a PhD with the visa?

4. Do i need to have research papers before applying?

Thanks in advance.
