Just got denied today.

Background 2years MSC , fees is 1300/course (2courses for first semester) which I haven’t paid because school has not started registration. School only requested 1k for administrative fee.

Proof of fund 28m when Cad was (710) from a sales of property, all documents were notarized and attached.

I need advice and opinions on how to reapply.

Thank you 🙏

You didn't state the reasons for the refusal. This will help whoever wants to assist you with a better idea of what really happened. Also, you might need to order the GCMS notes to have a better idea of what really happened.

Good morning house, Please how do we know the current exchange rate to calculate our prof of funds?
I submitted 15m as prof of funds for canada after I paid 11k Cad, from 16197.18 which left me with 2697.18 because canadore gave me a scholarship of 2500. Please house how do I know if my pof is still good, I’m self sponsored ,No dependant, I owned my company but I didn’t submit my company bank statement during my application because it doesn’t have enough funds. I’m really worried because of this current exchange rate , I submitted my application on the 30th of December

Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel
for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).
• Pursuant to paragraph 220(b) of the IRPR, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and
available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family
members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by John39swill: 1:36pm On Feb 15
I think you shouldn't have applied for study permit until you pay up ur tuition fee and hold ur payment receipt for proof.

Then they will be sure that u ar coming to study and any other remaining money with you should be more than 20K CAD for living expenses, also u must show proof for ur flight cost also.

In summary, they're not sure u ar coming to study because u haven't paid school fees, and even if u ar actually coming to study, they are not sure ur fund after paying tuition fee will be enough for living expenses and flight cost.

Other people can give their thoughts, this is what I believe caused ur denial 🤔

You need to start researching the pathways that will okay for you. You have a good trade skill that might be eligible for PR, so check open sources to find the info you need. Most of us here are mainly concerned with Study application process so you may not get detailed info here.
. Alright Sir

When I applied on the 27th of December 2023, JMG12 posted a link to check official rate, I dont have it anymore. Initially my proof of funds was $CAD64,000 before submitting but on the day of submission it had dropped to $CAD53,000 and that was what I stated in my SOP.

This is the logic I used for my family and I. I did a cover letter of proof of funds explaining all funds with relevant documents to support it. What my family and I needed for the first year after paying first semester fee was a little above $CAD24k. But I doubled it and made sure we had excess on it just incase the exchange rate kept skyrocketing. We were approved and we've collected our stamped Visa's. Hope this helps.

Yes, you will need to apply for a visit visa for her and get her passport, birth certificate with prove and also POF to cover for her too.

Hi @JMG12,
I'm a bit lost in the process of applying for a visit visa for a minor.
It appears the portal needs me to apply for a visa (for myself) + my baby. Making 2 visit visa applications, but I already have a study visa.

Can you advise, and can I send you an email?

Thanks

Hello all,
I need an advise, my wife got admission at lakeland college for a 2 year Diploma in Early Childhood education.
She is a BSc graduate in Education and has been a teacher in the last 5 years

Now that there is no more SOWP, can she go alone with our two kids, while i apply for a visit visa to go and visit them and return.
I did not intend to stay as my business is better off here in Nigeria.

Also i transfer 35,000 GBP which is equivalent to 62,000 CAD and she have 4m naira for POF and we have also paid her full tuition fee of 18,000 CAD.

i am also sending my personal pounds bank statement and my company pounds bank statement as part of her financial documents

My wife has also been to the UK last month as part of travel history and i have proof of my sources of income.

Does she stand a chance of getting the visa with the 2 kids?

Kindly advise me pls.

Thanks

Anyone applying for study permit in this time of high exchange rate should ensure POF is properly calculated to avoid rejection for financial reason.

Living expenses + Tuition fees (per year) + Travel Expenses = Funds in your Bank Account.

That is, CAD20,635 + Tuition Fee + CAD2,000 x current exchange rate = Funds Needed.

Ensure you don't submit below this calculation.

If you have paid part of your tuition fees, that can be deducted from the total amount.

Note: This is for the PA only without dependant(s)

Are you applying for an MSc program or College? with the new policy, your hubby might not be able to join you on an open work permit, except through visiting while your kid can join you on visiting.

Thanks for your reply… yes I am applying for MSc program. Please can you explain the visiting are we going to be traveling once or after I am there they will now come. Because I am a novice in this japa journey and my hubby is the one doing everything through his friend who is in Canada

Your POF will be calculated based on the exchange rate as at when the VO started processing your application.

Don't try it bro. it's automatic rejection. Microfinance Bank Statements are not recognized by the VO, their believe is MFBs are not regulated and can't be verified.
