The removal of subsidy on petroleum that was expected to take more Nigerians out of poverty through higher revenue accrual to both the federal and sub-national governments seems to be ineffective with almost all the states of the federation having very little or nothing to show for the huge revenues that have come in for them since May 29 when President Bola Tinubu announced the subsidy removal. https://leadership.ng/n5-108trn-in-8-months-hardship-unabated-in-states-despite-huge-allocations/?fbclid=IwAR2vNXbV9X6bPKwXqGXWmpXV1shS5iXluWvksnlysCUuxMkg8aS6TbNTg3c 5 Likes

Hmm. We have been told that our economy is dollarized. If that is so, can they tell us the value in US dollars please. They may also look at the revenue before subsidy removal, get the dollar value and compare both periods. As we speak, a bag of rice is close to 120k. They should please compare and tell us the lent to 1 Like |

Let us tell ourselves the truth, propaganda against Tinubu's government is a waste of time. The level of corruption in our states (and local governments) is beyond control. People blame BAT but are not holding their state governors accountable. Many don't even know who the deputy governor of their state is, talkless of the local government chairman. 39 Likes |

This issue of sharing money without any accountability by the recipients is the recipe for corruption. Where exactly is the allocated funds going? People's personal pockets! How many billions will be enough to save your soul on the day death comes calling? Nigerian politicians loot like there is no tomorrow. What a SHAMEFUL bunch of human beings. 13 Likes |

This APC Scam of we blaming the Governors but Tinubu is dead on arrival. You guys were here when Amaechi and his band of Governors messed Nigeria and the ECA savings up during GEJ. But all blames were on GEJ, so don't gaslight your papa by telling anyone to face the governors. It won't work 9 Likes 1 Share |

The increase in allocation doesn't really change much, I know some people will want to argue, but look at it like this, Nigeria placed a budget about 28trillion when the dollar was about 800naira. Today the dollar is 1600, that means the value of that 28 trillion is half, what it means is that Nigeria might need 56 trillion naira to do what the 28 trillion could do at the time of the budget, then when you also add their normal corruption to it what will be left, so increase in state budget might not change much especially when the rate of inflation is faster than the increased allocations.... |

100% Fact If you are receiving double allocation, then you should double your deliverables to the people. We need to hold these governors and chairmen responsible just as we are holding the president. 9 Likes |

olaolulazio: Why should Tinubu be left alone? Why did he say he was removing subsidy which he said was too expensive only to start sharing billions to state governors? Would it not have been better to keep the subsidy? 4 Likes 1 Share |

No accountability, no transparency, no monitoring, no supervision and no control from any quarter. Everybody is doing whatever he or she feels like doing in this country. Weak institutions everywhere because of weak and corrupt rulers at the corridor of power. 1 Like 1 Share |

Nigeria is in debt. I just got to know that most of the FAAC allocation to States is used to settle debts which they have embezzled tey tey. The remaining is used to buy dollars, that is why the Naira depreciates sharply once allocations are distributed. |

One-chance administration You removed subsidy that was going directly to the masses and every household and started distributing the same money to yourself, governors and chairmen to give to the same masses! Madness and thoughtlessness 1 Like 1 Share |
