The Igbo were the ones in Dangote's position from the 1940s to July 1966, we were the dominant tribe in Nigeria.

Nigeria didn't turn into paradise back then and the Igbo certainly didn't make any effort to turn Nigeria into a free market economy....for exactly the reasons the British didn't do it and that's why the dominant Islamic Alliance will not do it today.

Basically VIOLENCE is the currency of political power in Nigeria and the result is always winner take all. Direct translation - no development.

Good Luck to Nigerians.

I tend to disagree with this your Statement, because Nigeria was practicing regionalism then, there was no absolute power fir the central and the leadership then was shared along the regional lines and for your information the eastern Nigerian growth was compared to that of Britain and Russia those times, they were the most adavanced region in nigeria and Africa at large, GO AND READ YOUR HISTORY MY FRIEND.

Omo, Lagos na ya mate!

Lagos is where things are happening in Nigeria.

Most business/investment related giverment ministries and agencies should be moved back to Lagos.

Abuja is corruption capital of Nigeria where Nigeria's wealth is looted.

This is very lousy and unnecessary. In the first place on what Basis should Lagos have 2k BDCs that are licensed, can CBN really tell us that they have an audit of the reports of the business of these 2k registered BDCs? 500 BDCs is really enough considering the volume of trade in Lagos, anything other than this number is clearly a front for bank officials and CBN staff.

It's a pity most Nigerians don't know or maybe embraced a false history, or haven't bothered to do a proper analysis.

The Igbo controlled Nigeria in all but name. A study of the demography of federal employees and university graduates makes it very clear. The Igbo were so utterly dominant that the Fulani & Yoruba were begging for secession and the Igbo rejected their pleas. In fact Zik ceded the position of Prime Minister to the North as a gesture of good faith, to tamp down Northern secessionist sentiment.

Not just those tribes. Do you know there were TWO Cameroonian provinces that were part of Nigeria? They were given a referendum in 1964. The Northern Cameroonian province elected to remain part of Northern Nigeria, but the Southern Cameroons decided to leave the Eastern Region and join Cameroon. Their reason? Igbo domination. Go and read the history, it's fascinating.

The Jan 1966 coup was an attempt to keep Nigeria together, it was an effort to salvage a nation wracked by serious political instability that has set in soon after independence. The biggest error resulting from the coup was Unitary Decree No 34. The rest is history and we're all living it.

Good Luck to Nigeria.

You are a liar!
🤣

Who was begging who?

Bloody liar!

Your people were still going naked to the market place in Colonial times, so how where you dominant?
Your region was poor, you had no semblance of organization like the other tribes.

Your people still practised cannibalism like brutes and some still do today.
So what the heck are you going on about?

Again demographics of which Graduates?
How many Secondary Schools were in the East?

Then when did Azikiwe cede which foolish Prime Minister to the North?
You mean it was his and he dashed it out?
Was his Party the dominant party?

Who dash am?
🤣

You are so deluded or outrightly silly!

So by your silly analogy, if the other parts were begging to leave Nigeria because of 'Igbo dominance,' why conduct a Coup and kill all their leaders but yours?

Did you get all these madness from Radio Biafra?

Utter nonsense!

Majority of the South West is poor, yet your people keep trooping down daily?

Where are the best Hospitals in the Country?
Where are the best Secondary Schools
Where are the best Universities?

Where is economic hub of the Country?

Where is the IT hub?
Finance?
Industries?

Where is the entertainment hub?

You think it is by building 'Mansion' in your Village?
Or bragging about your Naira Billionaires?
🤣

Is that adding value to your regional economy?

The aforementioned things have made the South West the best place to live in the Country.

In 100 years, your Mansions will be worth little, whilst the investments made in those sectors would have further transformed the South West.

Continue being dumb.
Afe Babalola has built a top 10 University in less than a decade that will outlive him and add value in perpertuity, whilst you brag about inconsequential things.

let's imagine edo state capital of Nigeria from time immemorial then warri nigerian port city I swear lagos will be just like another ondo or osun state also south westerners should also give thanks and praises to God's of their land that northerners are not connected to the Atlantic ocean had been that northern nigeria is connected to Atlantic ocean is game over for lagos,do you know why northerners don't want other ports in SS to work ? Is their joker against South west if south west don't want to dance to their tune they will make other ports working, let them build one international airport in the south east where all European airline can land and take off you will feel it at muritala Mohammed lagos,we know what is going on in nigeria,if they can move capital to Abuja what is ordinary port if they are connected to Atlantic ?

The Yorubas were administering a Kingdom that extended into Benin Republic and Togo long before the British came.

Dahomey was paying tax of about 1 million pounds yearly to the Oyo empire about 200 years ago.

So stop capping.

There is a reason the Colonialists chose Lagos.
Besides it was not the only coastal town or city at the time?
Neither was it closest to the centre of the Country.

Lagos had a structure when they came, coupled with its proximity to the coast.

It was a commercial centre.
Cannons used to fight the Yoruba was were bought from there.
Slaves were sold from there.
The returnee Yoruba slaves settled there with the knowledge they had of the first world.
This further improved it.

So the same way a foreign investor will rather set up his Company in Lagos, or Ogun or Abuja or Port-Hacourt because of their peculiarities is the same way the British did.

Or you rather they set up shop in the evil forest?
