Q- HOURS MANY HOURS WILL IT TAKE MY CAR TO GET TO THE NIGERIAN BORDER?

A- Under normal circumstances,your car should get to Nigeria under 48HRS but some unforeseen cases may arise.

1.PUBLIC HOLIDAYS-Since there are two countries involved,a public holiday may be declared in Cotonou and it's affect the 48hr agreement,you have to wait for them to resume operations.

2. STRIKE ACTION- Escorts are approved and licensed drivers who drive your cars to designated parks along the border since you're not licensed to drive. Sometimes they declare strike actions and your car might not leave the parks in Cotonou until it's over.

3.NETWORK ISSUES- It's possible the NCS have network issues when trying to log your car's entry into their database.You just have to wait till your entry has been logged in and you are given a file jacket with a serial number printed on it.

4.BORDER CLOSURE- Seme border now closes at 6pm.This was an action taken by NCS,seme border command to prevent smuggling,it also means your tokunbo car can't come into Nigeria.
That's why we've also taken the pains to open a park few metres to the border,all you've to do is hand over your vehicle to the park authorities,make an inventory and leave.
You pay a little sum to claim your car back in the morning.

5.AGENTS- Some customers gop into Cotonou to buy cars and hand them over to agents we don't know,these agents have the responsibility of getting their vehicles to the border while Jelad ventures takes care of it's entry into Nigeria.
Please note the following-

A.We will not be responsible for any delay or sign a 48HR agreement with you,we will only take action when your agent drops the car at the border.

B.With the rising issues of dubious agents removing cars from stands and disappearing with them,we will not be responsible for your vehicle in Rep.of Benin until it's at the border.

C. If your agent and his escort fail to get to the border by 6pm,you can't make use of our parks,usage of our parks may bring about clashes of interest since we weren't informed when you went into Cotonou to purchase the vehicle,we are just responsible for it's entry.

Sir,as much as i wouldnt want to start exchanging words with you,i'll like to put some words into your shallow brain.These are people who have done business with Jelad ventures and we practically had to beg them to comment on Nairaland.

We have this advert currentlh running on facebook and several blogs but unfortunately Nairaland is one of the few sites you have to register before you can post your comments otherwise all you can just do is read only.

Now,if we have asked some of our clients to post comments and you have issues with it,I think the best thing would have been you asking for their mobile contacts so you can verify their claims.It actually goes beyond buying a car in cotonou,this is a platform for making friends,right now as i am typing this,a customer's wife has been in cotonou for three days,if that certain person had not trusted our judgement,he wouldnt have allowed his wife come for an holiday,we also have several customers who we have always directed to him so that they at least verify our claims,he stays in Abuja.

The rx350 posted last week was brought by a client whom we met in owerri while delivering a 2012 camry,all this people arent ghost,they are real people you can actually talk to and they may even invite you to inspect what they purchased in cotonou.

Sir,it all depends on the neatness and grade.

The total asking amount for a grade 1 golf3 with auto and AC is around 532,800 if we use 333N-1,000CFA.

Duty on it is 120K,which makes it 652,800.

NOw please take note,whenever you call us for a golf3,we'll always tell you it's betweeen 600-650K for the following reasons.

1.2,800 doesn't really count.
2.If you're so patient and have the ability to search the parks carefully,you may be lucky to see a cheap one or a car dealer who actually needs money badly and who is ready to give you a good bargain.
3.Some people search for cars which aren't grade 1 and bargain on these cars,they only fix them after purchase.

These and many other reasons are part of what may drop the asking price,I've seen people buy for 600-650K,somone even brought it for 570K with custom duty but trust me,a wrong choice may make your car a weekly guest at the mechanic workshop.

Custom officials have shot a smuggler and he is dead,it just happened in seme.

If you are travelling along this route,pls drop and seek refuge,armed soilders are shooting seriously trying to clear the fracas.

There was breakdown of law and order today at Seme border when Customs officers mistakenly shot an indigene while pursuing some smugglers.Earlier reports claimed the man was a smuggler and he was shot to death but the truth was later revealed by some villagers who claimed the man was shot in front of his house and he was still alive in an undisclosed hospital.

After the shooting incident,some villager along the seme route took the law into their hands and started burning custom vehicles and trailers,as at the time of this report,there are confirmed reports of a dead custom officer and unconfirmed reports of two deaths amongst the custom officials.

We wish to inform our customers who have vehicles in our park(New park) that their vehicles are safe but out of respect to the gallant officers who died while serving their fatherland,we will not resume operations till Monday.Peace has been restored by the men of the Nigerian Army,police and some customs officials.
