Not really, basically society has pigeon-holed the word 'gamer' as a young male who plays video games, instead of its original meaning - a person who plays games. No one actively got me into video games, I simply saw it as a brilliant way to enjoy my time. Plus, being born during the golden age of technology also helped, from the floppy disk to PS3 via gameboy, SNES, Sega Gen/Mega & Playstation. I even had the weird joystick one you could connect to the TV.

In fact, I just remembered that the first person I knew with a gaming console (NES) was a girl.

Does it have anything to do with society? Even amongst female gamers, those who shell out 500quid to buy a console are very very rare. There may be as many female handheld (phone, tablet) gamers as there are male gamers, but i won't consider those core gamers..And hear, the person who introduced me to gaming was a girl (my big cousin). But she hardly ever plays games nowadays. Who knows, it may have been societal conditioning as you allude, or simply down to women not having as big a competitive streak in them as men( can we not be P.C?)

Can anyone help with the right camera settings for fifa. I dont see what's happening at the other side of the pitch clearly.

Secondly ive got an issue with pes2014. I hardly see the strikers and defenders on time. The camera lags before eventually showing them.

I can't count how many times I've been called twa.t or monkey by someone online proabably because of my thick naija accent or me playing awfully, but that hasn't made me quit playing games all together. After a certain point, you see it for what it is; a game online with a bunch of strangers i dont care about, and i could easily throw obscenities the other way if i want to. Fair play. Guys get taunted at online about certain quirks, but no one's ever pinning it on society, or playing the victim card, or not buying consoles because the world isn't going easy on them. The average naija gamer I know would certainly be amped to have a girl gamer for a friend. Those fan boys you mention, vile as there actions were do not represent the sentiments of the industry or male gamers, let alone society at large. This one's on women.

One of these days, I'll have to play with you guys. Problem is I don't play the usual multiplayers, and I've ignored the sport and beat em up games for so long, that I'll definitely suck. So if you have no issue with me making you look good, then let's play.

I have a nasty habit of not finishing some games due to life. PoP:TFS is the easiest game to get the platinum trophy, you have to try at all. Chei! LA Noire totally forgot about that. I still have it, but I don't have any intention of selling it.

EDIT: When I say finish, I mean finishing the main story not 100% completion. The only game I wanted to complete was God of War: Ascension when I realised I was only two trophies away. But, it happened in Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands instead, where I noticed I had gotten most of them without trying.

If it plays at all it will be on the lowest detail settings and the lowest resolution and still not give a decent frame rate. To compare I have 12gb of RAM yet I get between 15-25fps in Need For Speed Rivals.

You need a graphics card, not just RAM (in fact your PC won't utilise anything above 8Gb of RAM even if you played Crysis 3)

Sorry for now you are stuck with whatever came with the laptop. Laptop graphics cards cannot be upgraded ATM.
