This tread is a great eye opener ,wooooow can stop wondering
You have to stop wondering, bro. Not all will get these OIL placements.

As @ Tuesday, Lagos State Civil Servive has received about 70,000 job applications for the recently advertised roles. Thats the population of UNILAG, LASU and YABATECH undergraduates combined.

Guess what Lagos State pay entry levels ____ N78k (others say N74k).

Why are people still applying in the 70k job when shell pays 600k+?

These figures shouldn't stop anyone from working harder in the less paying jobs.

On the positive side, this thread is an enlightenment for many. We need to know our worth.

I just pray that some folks who now think that they are underpaid after going through all the salary quotations here won't quit their job nor confront their boss for a raise.
As for me, my mouth is just left ajar after passing through this place. Nice one.

This is the first time in my entire life to read a topic from 0 -17th page on Nairaland.

Anyway, thanks to the Op and other contributors. I learnt.

Is any one looking at the Pension Industry?

What do PFAs (Pension Fund Administrators) offer their entry level and experienced level?

Thank you.

I don't think PFAs offer much compared to their counterparts in Bank, Insurance, Investment Banking.

In a training I attended with some employees of PFA, I learnt they don't really make much profit since they don't do much business with the money in their custody, because that's the last resort for PF contributors, and as such, it is risky using such money for other profit generating ventures, for fear of loss.

I stand to be corrected though.

Everybody cannot be oga.

Most of the ogas we see are also boy boy to some others. But some like Op can hardly think out of the box considering his kind of topic. Salaries aren't meant for fun, many will eventually return to business now or later (after retirement) with the salaries saved in cash or in form of pension. My Landlord here at 60 something suddenly turn a real estate agent just to put body and soul together. No bank will keep a man at 60.

We are all here for business; (but) with different ways of achieving our dreams.
lmao! I was really furious when I saw this post that I typed some very unruly and condescending lines. I had to caution myself and cancel all I typed( I thank God I did). *lol*.

I think some of you guys need to watch what you say. Telling me that I can hardly think outside the box is an insult on my personality. That is why I preach against the unnecessary noise you guys make about Entrepreneurship.

People that make real money from business don't have the time to start forcing entrepreneurship on anyone. In fact, they don't even want you to think of owning a business because you are a potential competitor.

You talked about me hardly thinking outside the box. Do you want me to start telling everybody my life achievements on Nairaland before you know that I don't only think outside the box but also outside the compound?

I'm very astute with my posts and I'm double sure intelligent people that read my posts will never have the impression I hardly think outside the box. For the sake of Terribly aggressive entrepreneurship preachers, I had my first business at the age of 16. The business was successful as it has expanded in 10 folds. I am still on sallah break and my sales boys are making my cool cash for me.

You now see why you guys are not in a position to tell me about entrepreneurship?( Except you will say it in a reasonable way). I'm sure must of you are entrepreneurs because of the Nigerian problem. My first contact with business was passion-driven as I was still enjoying sponsorship by my parents and my siblings also settling me well. The smart ones amongst you should now know the difference between the kind of entrepreneur you guys are and the kind I am.

In conclusion, I implore all you aggressive entrepreneurship preachers to MAKE MORE MOVES & MAKE LESS NOISE.

In other news, I'll be completing NYSC in one week time and I don't mind if anyone can recommend me *winks*. You know what I mean na. I thank you Lord for giving me the grace to make it this far.

Nairalanders, I love you all( especially the entrepreneurship preachers wey dey always carry my matter for head like Darling yaki. *kisses and hugs*

karmaleon:
Shell - approx. 650k monthly
ExxonMobil and Total - approx 16m-17m per annum
Schlumberger - approx. 800k monthly

The gist is, exploration and production companies pays at least 500k monthly with other benefits while servicing companies starts from 200k.

But you MUST have your masters before you can get in!

Oil companies don't pay that much, you need to be in the sector to know.
SLB (Schlumberger) DEFINITELY don't pay that much. Same goes for the others you mentioned.

But I'll tell you one thing:- Most of these companies (especially oil companies have double standard) they usually have the Nigerian version and the international version - When they are taking you outside the country, your pay-grade/structure is changed but if you're employed here then your pay is what is obtainable here.

I know this because I worked with one of them

I really don't know why I love to be informed. I think it just brings me fulfillment to know what's going on around me. Some people say I'm too inquisitive and I tell them that I was even worse as a child. I just want to know everything (provided it's a relevant information).

I've always wanted to know how much companies operating in Nigeria offer fresh graduates. I intended using my contacts to carry out the small research but I realized that alone might be insufficient. I've opted for a better option which is our lovely Nairaland. Yes! Lovely. By the time people start giving authentic and accurate information on this subject you will all understand that “lovely” is an understatement.

Kindly come in and list as many companies as you are sure of and state in front how much they offer entry level position after tax and pension i.e TAKE HOME

All values should be in Naira and should be monthly pay.

Diamond Bank : Around 230,000
GTB : Around 200,000
KPMG : Around 145,000
Union Bank. : Around 215,000
PZ Cussons. :Around 145,000(RDMi.e Sales)

For those that will give us Oil and Gas info, you can be kind enough to state how much is obtainable in the Upstream and Downstream.

Conspicuously, there will be arguments. I implore you all to correct others maturely.

Sit back, relax and Enjoy *lol*
And somebody will now start complaining when doctors, pharmacist or health workers are been paid 60k during NYSC, How many health workers get these salaries above as a fresh graduate

For someone who has never had up to 50k in his or her account, the difference would be clear trust me. To some 200k might be stipends but for someone who has struggled with money almost all their lives, that would be hitting jack-pot.

Prospects are high... With very good pay too
The down side is just that the positions are very few
It is also extremely competitive

Most coys send their employees on training related to that field...

I have never preached or forced entrepreneurship on anyone here on Nairaland. You made a baseless accusation. Mind you my allegations are based on your recent posts/threads on Nairaland (not in your camp).

I repeat again, I do not preach for or against entrepreneurship. My business and work life is known by NONE here.

The fact that you preach against what you term noise says a lot about you and your business.

You don't even know the meaning of entrepreneurship. To make it easy for you: "ALMIGHTY" graduates also work for ENTREPRENEURS.

You need to check my profile to confirm how and where I spend my leisure time online.
