I have been reading all the threads that have to do with importation but I have not found an answer to a challenge hence my decision to write it out.

My alibaba supplier sent an email to me
that if i want to pay through escrow they will have to ship directly to me and not through m,y shipping agent in china

If I want to ship through the agent I either pay directly or get the shipping agent to pay them.

Now, I'm wondering why?

any such experience here?

Just tell them you don't want upgrade but true capacity. You can ask about the chip. Finally, make sure you use escrow.
