Are you freaking kidding me?
Have you checked other books similar to yours on amazon?
If you did that and found any 30 pages ebook selling at $12, then please take the ecovers above, free no attribution required, as my sincerest apology.
This is not me telling you that it is impossible for your book to sell because "those who want to win" know better than to buy a book with a poor cover and description.

Lemme be frank. I am a book addict. I have countless motivational books that are over 200 pages. I've buying motivatinal books since I was 13.
So tell me Zico0, why should I buy your book?
I have bought Think & Grow Rich for $5. I know every motivational gimick. So what makes your 30 pages ebook so unique that will make me buy it for $12?
Give me a great reason and I will buy it, promote it and get my friends to buy and promote.

On a very light note, the $12 price is an increase by amazon.com and i don't know why. I'll deal with it on monday. The price is $9.

On the lenght, i guess its a total loss then; for you. But, to give you a reason, you never heard this info anywhere before, as the lenght couldn't stop it. It transcends ordinary writing conventions. It contains a perspective of life that you have not yet achieved. Thats why it is pure wisdom; It offers science that is not bound by conventions. Knowledge don't bind us, real knowledge frees and exposes us. No fears, no worries because man comes before information. Humanity is the value of reality. I could go on.

Sarahn, explain.

I went to the kdp community and asked them about preorders vs free promotion. I got trolled. Not directly but subtly. The way my question was answered was like they assumed I was a naive newbie indie idiot trying to sell a crappy and short book.

It would have been better if they had said so bluntly.
Seriously. I hate subtle insults.

You have an interesting defence. Unfortunately, it has failed to convince me. It s not appealed to my needs. Will your book change my life? Help me bag a first class? Get me George Coolney? Make me a bestselling Kindle author? You have to appeal to the needs of your buyers. People buy nonfiction to solve their problem. What problem des your book solve?
Look I say it again. $9 is too high. I am not saying it because of length but because Amazon buyers have a particular pattern: they donot buy books from new authors if the book is priced at anything higher than $2.99.
Yes, it is horrible.
So may I offer a suggestion?
Write a prequel of the book and sell it for 2.99.
Then lure your readers to buy your main book
Use createspace to justify higher prices
Place your book under motivational and inspirational
Then do some madass marketing. KDP does not help you in a niche like this ooo...
Good Luck with your book.
FYI, the first book you publish doesnot sell. Ask anyone who is in KDP and they will tell you the same thing. Try not to put all your hope on one book.

So in essence, there's no problem with the platform but rather the users. And what you are saying is that we should brace ourselves for some negative feedback?

@ Zico0, I have followed the criticisms / advices given to you concerning your first book and your responses. I want to say that you should pls take constructive criticisms in good light and work on them. What the guys have said here is true. Many of us here are already doing what you are trying to do. We have walked the path. Remember the saying that "Experience is the best teacher". Do you want to make the same mistakes we made? Do you want to waste some precious time? Price your book at $2.99 for a start and try and make your first sale. You are lucky someone here even did a cover free for you. The least u can get that on Fiverr is $. Kudos to the guy for a good spirit. Cheers!

I am quite flattered by your compliment. Assuming I read right, you were complimenting the person that gave a free book cover.
Men!!!!!
Now, I will be darned. You have hurt my female pride. I happen to be a woman not a man. My moniker says sarah. I am fairly certain it is a female name.
Would you kindly do me a favour. Check the moniker before assuming it is a guy.
Or else I will start referring to everyone here as a "she".
Starting now.

Perhaps you could save everyone the trouble by simply checking off the "f" gender designation in your profile.

I don't use one because i am gender neutral... I am only a website wink

KDP Author Russell Blake

Russell Blake, author of JET: Sanctuary, shares his experience with Kindle Direct Publishing.

"When a friend of mine began pestering me in 2011 with articles about indie authors who were hitting big via Amazon's KDP, I was skeptical. I'd written 10 action thriller novels and trashed them over the prior decade. I had zero interest in spending years querying agents in the hopes of earning a meager advance from a traditional publisher--all my traditionally published friends freely admitted they would have made more per hour operating a fry machine at Burger Barn than writing.

"But when I looked harder, I saw that the numbers added up to an incredible opportunity for a prolific author willing to work hard. For the first time in history, authors could earn 70% from their books, making the business of indie publishing with KDP potentially lucrative, rather than a black hole for time and money. After some waffling, I published my first novel, Fatal Exchange, in June, 2011. Impressed by how easy the process was, I cranked up my writing engine and issued forth another seven books by December 2011.

"Sales were slow to come, but built steadily, from a whopping $18 of royalties in June to $1,450 in December. In January, I joined KDP Select and earned ten times that. In February, my earnings doubled again.

"I've never looked back. To date, I've sold over 600,000 books on my own, doing everything myself and loving every minute of it.
I've been able to find an appreciative readership and develop a fan base, which continues to build through word of mouth.

"This year I was featured on the front page of The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, and a host of online publications like Huffington Post and Forbes.com. My work has been translated into German, Spanish, and Bulgarian. I have a top-flight literary agent, and I co-authored a novel with legendary adventure author Clive Cussler. I'm hard at work on a second novel with Clive, one of my all-time favorite authors, and I will be launching a New Adult romance line this month as R.E. Blake. To say I'm living the dream wouldn't be exaggerating.

"As a prominent pundit on all things indie on my blog, I've come to have a large circle of author friends, many of whom routinely earn handsome livings from their work, and most of whom have never had a breakout hit. KDP has created an opportunity the likes of which authors have never seen: the chance to join an emerging middle class of working writers, where through hard work and diligence (and yes, luck) we can earn five, six, and even seven figures self-publishing.

"To say that KDP changed my life is the understatement of the year.
And every month, there are more success stories joining the ranks.

"It's an exciting time to be an author, as well as a reader, with a host of dynamic new voices to discover. Amazon helped launch the revolution, for which I'm beyond grateful.

"Long live the book."

Price
First off, the book is too freaking expensive. $5 for 11 pages! Add more content or reduce the price.

Why the Kindle list price so darn high? Make it 2.99 then the print list price $10. Make buyers feel like they have a bargain.

On the cover
What is up with the font and accent colours? GREEN! I hate green. I kept thinking aliens, green people from Mars are invading our planet. smiley
I could not see the title in the thumbnail size. Change the colour and the size.

Product Description
Are you a lawyer, or a geek?
I was put off by the product description. It felt like I was reading legalese. Everyone is put off by legalese. You are making the book look boring by that product description. I love books, but that product description will have me running.

Pen Name
What sort of pen name is Justim Tim? You are giving relationship advice. Sound professional. Use doctorish pen name such as Dr. Charles Livingstone. A pen name that says authority.

Title
What's up with the title? Relationship killers? HELL NO! Now you sound like a bloody Nigerian.
Did you do niche research? Did you check similar books like yours? Did you see that kind of title?
I browse on Amazon and I swear by ten heavens, that if I see a title like relationship killers, I shall never buy it.
It is not sell-worthy.
Check what title other authors in your niche are using and do same.

First off, a man who can not get the spelling of his own name right should never be trusted cheesy Just kidding... but am i? undecided

As indicated in the book, your pen name is "Justin Tim" (two first names, but that's beside the point). However, your book cover has a very
glaring typo of your name as "Justi m Tim." Fix that asap.

This is your description below:

"In cases where a partner willingly denies the other of his/her conjugal rights may breed resentment and friction from the aggrieved partner. Partners should learn to talk/explain to each other anytime they may not be able to play their role in the home sexually without necessarily waiting till the ‘eleventh hour’ before giving excuses. Even when such excuses may be genuine, failure to highlighting them before hand may still make the other partner harbor grievances in his/her heart. If such issue(s) is not well handled may lead to total breakup of the union....Partners should not see and treat the inability of one partner not measuring up with blames, accusation on the part of one partner or should see it as a collective pain that needs the effort of both of them to solving".
This book examines the above and other "intricate salient love killers among married couples or young lovers that lead or may lead to divorce or break up between them. An understanding of these points will do much more than resolving crises in homes, marriages and the family institution as a whole thereby promoting a better society for us all".

1. The word "in" should not exist in that sentence, as its presence makes the sentence meaningless and grammatically wrong.

2. Change "highlighting" to "highlight"

3. "If such issue(s) is not" - This should read "If such an issue(s) is not" OR "If such issues are not." (Don't forget to adjust the rest of the sentence accordingly).

4. There should be only one period after "union." There isn't a reason here to have used "..." to bridge two unrelated sentences.

5. The sentence portion in bold beginning with "blames, accusation..." should be completely reworded.

6. I'm not sure why you have your last three lines in quotes, but there should not be quotes over there.

Also, when writing quotes, periods go inside the quote, not outside. e.g "bla bla." not "bla bla".

It is not a bad description, it just needs to be properly written. Good luck cool

The cover art sucks.
The font is childish. not professional. Go to Fontspace.com and type in the font Optimus princeps. download and install.
The picture is bad, low quality.
Go to pixabay.com and search couples. You find something better. Don't worry, all images there are copyright free.

22 pages is short. really short. Try and find more content to add.
Change the title to something catchy such as How to get your man and keep him.
The pen name you used doesn't sound professional. Use authority pen names.

Your product description sucks. It has no call to action, no USP. What makes your 22 paged ebook so unique that I will buy it no matter the price?
