Mounsurat Adeoye, the Mother of teen Omotayo

"When Omotayo got busted peeking at her
cellphone while taking a German test, the teacher
allegedly snatched it away, accusing her of
cheating and yelling at her. Omotayo reportedly
burst into tears while apologizing profusely to the
instructor. A few hours after the emotional
exchange between the teacher and Omotayo,
according to police investigators, the young girl
scrawled the following words on her German
language exam that read, “I just want to go away
forever on the bottom of the river.”

"After Omotayo handed in her test paper and asked
to go to the restroom, she never returned to the
classroom.

"Instead, the teen walked to Manhattan’s Hudson
River’s edge in Harlem, placed her identification on
a rock, then plunged in to the murky waters."

According to Mounsurat, the school knew that
Omotayo had emotional problems -- since she had
attempted suicide before -- but they did not take
proper care of her.

She would have had serious repercussions which could include being thrown out of the school for good
Cheating is a very serious thing in the USA
It can get you fired instantly from a job and school
She turned in her paper and excused herself to the bathroom and never came back

That is where i blamed the mother in the upbringing of the child, the formative years would may have been lacking some caning.. There are many of them here, bringing up a child like an oyinbo and when the child goes haywire, corrective measures would now be too late. Then the child keeps going in and out of government facilities.

I know that case. That woman received severe burns, needed skin grafts and was permanently disfigured. The coffee was actually dangerously hot. In the course of the investigation, it was discovered that McDonald's requires its franchisees to serve their coffee at a temperature so high that it causes third degree burns in seconds.

Despite these extensive injuries, she offered to settle with McDonald’s for $20,000. However, McDonald’s refused to settle for this small amount and, in fact, never offered more than $800.

The jury awarded Liebeck $200,000 in compensatory damages — reduced to $160,000 because the jury found her 20 percent at fault — and $2.7 million in punitive damages for McDonald’s callous conduct. (To put this in perspective, McDonald’s revenue from coffee sales alone was in excess of $1.3 million a day.) The trial judge reduced the punitive damages to $480,000, but did state that McDonald’s had engaged in “willful, wanton, and reckless” behavior. Mrs. Liebeck and McDonald’s eventually settled for a confidential amount. The jury heard the following evidence in the case:

The woman was in the car and put the coffee in between her laps and it spilled and burnt her
Which stupid person needs hot written on a styrofoam cup of coffee to know it is hot
Who puts coffee in between their things in a vehicle

Mcdonalds lost the case because someone calculated how much McDonald grosses and a jury decided she needed 1% of it or thereabout for her injury and that it couldn't hurt them.
