Fellow Nigerians, many at times we tend to blame or hail our Governors and Leaders based on what they have or have not done. You will agree with me that a man cannot do more than the resources he has at his disposal. Knowing the amount of money accruing to our states will enable us to make genuine demand from our state and local governments. I therefore bring to you the Federal revenue allocation distributed to state government by Federal Account Allocation Committee for the month of September, 2014 and shared in October 2014. These allocations are not fixed but give insight into the monthly allocation of each state. HIGHEST PAID STATES 1. Akwa Ibom 19,467,767,266.19 2. Delta 14,884,561,011.30 3. Rivers 13,811,059,254.97 4. Bayelsa 10,522,293,702.84 5. Lagos 8,023,794,161.05 LOWEST PAID STATES 1. Kwara 3,443,615,149.18 2. Ekiti 3,022,560,084.74 3. Ebonyi 2,952,706,061.22 4. Gombe 2,948,522,092.40 5. Osun 2,575,099,200.40 I believe it is high time we appraised our leaders based on resources under their control and not just compare one state with another when their allocation differs with a big margin. One important criteria many ignore when assessing performances of state governors is monthly allocation. Though I don't encourage too much dependence on monthly allocation. |

Goddex: Exactly. He should post a credible source. The list is fictitious based on the ops desire to deceive. Where is Kano and Jigawa state? Yeye dey smell. |

leo1234: Lol, Osun owes her civil servants two months salary, this month 'll make it three months. But still better when compared to states owing her workers salaries of 9months or even more with more or doubled monthly allocation. Governors seriously should think deep and get off excess dependence on oil money. 5 Likes 1 Share |

IGBOSON1:And what do you say of Bayelsa? With little population, since Democracy in 1999 they've been earning Billions per month yet Bayelsa, a state that should be one of Nigeria's most developed state alongside Lagos, Abuja, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Delta is a state never heard of. No transformation in education, infrastructure, job creation, transport, absolutely nothing! 7 Likes |

Unless states (or even 6 or 8 potential regions) are truly federal in make-up and operation, and have a greater leeway to chart their economic destiny without being dictated to and bogged-down by Abuja....unless this is the case, then the feeding-bottle/pseudo-federalism we're presently operating is bound to continue! But who will bell the cat!? |
Re: Federal Revenue Allocation: Five Highest And Lowest Paid States by anonimi: 2:48pm On Nov 26, 2014 |
PaulJohn1: and just as important, these useless governors should stop STEALING from us. Can you imagine Aregberascal who is owing several months of salary to workers spending N1,000,000,000 (one billion) just to repaint a railway station in Osogbo Aregbesola Eulogised Over the Renovation of the Osogbo Railway Terminus We don't even know how much he is spending on the PHANTOM airport in Osogbo. And to think that the man is an "Engineer"! Chai!!! How did we end up with such clueless people as our state governors 2 Likes 2 Shares |

anonimi: Pathetic if true. It's no doubt that many of them are in those positions for themselves and never for the populace. But what's left for the few aware voters is to choose between these rogues we call our leaders, the lesser devil. This is the case of Osun, and I think both the aware and unaware voters got it right voting for Aregberascal(the manageable rogue). |

Sometimes I ask what crime my state has Committed that having a patrotic leader is like asking some1 to count sand. I weep 4 Bayelsa, imagine my Governor using almost 4years to dualize not up to 7km road and then most annoying was when he said "they said I should stop that I have over done" what an insult on my people |
Re: Federal Revenue Allocation: Five Highest And Lowest Paid States by blym4real: 5:06pm On Nov 26, 2014 |
The list is wrong. Osun is not the least paid state in nigeria, her allocation is greater than that of ekiti and kwara. |
