Maybe because of liberalism in our system thats why we take the institution of the presidency with a pinch of salt.. Nigerian have never had it so bad- in the last few years,we have had it so rough,so many blood-letting,corruption,and so many vices not witnessed directly,so at any given opportunity,we take a jab at the presidency.. Maybe the jabs will make him sit-up as a president..those jabs to me are the only way we express ourselves. 4 Likes |

great1: You are still dodging the question and I hope you didn't base your views of the above factors because he failed woefully across the board. Financial - He just devalued the Naira and he's talking about austerity measures and poor Nigerians sacrificing. or holding people accountable. He's a poor, corrupt and incompetent administrator administrator. Corruption - This is the most corrupt administration in the history of this country. We are talking about a leader who's not interested in transparency, he wont even declare his own assets. What is he hiding? Nearly all the people he hired are all corrupt with many under EFCC investigation and even his loudmouth spokesman is a known and self admitted crook and swindler. And of course his embarrassing and tragic statement that stealing is not corruption. Security - How secure are you with terrorists carving out portions of your own country under this worthless and incompetent man's nose and the same terrorists slaughtering and killing your country men like goats everyday while this useless president goofs around unconcerned as if the oath he took to defend and protect Nigerian was a joke. Freedom of speech? Are you for real? Are we not talking about the same silly and jobless administration with nothing better to do than cry and go ballistic at the opposition over every criticism or even advice? You president's spokesmen are attack dogs, they insult Nigerians every time they open their mouth instead of articulating his policies and reasoning. The idiots don't respect other people's views and opinion and in fact, their response is always to attack and fight common street thugs. Look at our law enforcement institutions, they've all been compromised and dumbed down to absurd and ridiculous level, they are worthless comedians and embarrassment. Even your thread sounds very insulting and condescending... 5 Likes |

Funny, who is even talking about FREEDOM under jona? Freedom like the arrest of Okorocha, Oshiomole and other APC stalwarts to prevent them from participating in elections? Freedom like barring the speaker from entering his own office? Freedom like not allowing a bringbackourgirls protest then later denying it? Freedom like parents withdrawing thheir children from schools all over N/Eeast due to insecurity? Freedom like Buhari's plane NOT permitted to land in Makurdi as in "order fom ABOVE? Freedom as in a baby IGP declaring the seat of speaker vacant and saying he does not rec him as speaker and even withdrawing his sec just fr DECAMPING to opposition? Meanwhile there is the freedom of Mimiko retaining his police sec after decamping to PDP. Freedom of Sanusi being DISGRACED out of office fr exposing the theft of our collective wealth? He was later to be arrested on the sacred day of his coronation. FREEDOM, does it exist under the present administration?? 6 Likes |

Bobskylo: Seems more like it is this government that is sponsoring BH. We have heard of countries like Russia under Stalin, dropping bombs on their own people (the poor helpless people) and blaming it on the enemy. And even if he is not the one causing the insecurity in the NE, whose job is it to end or reduce it significantly? If he can't do that over a space of 3-4 years in spite the largest percentage of the budget going to the Defence Sector for three consecutive years, then he is INCOMPETENT and should step down (resign honourably) for someone more competent to take over. The day we Nigerians begin to hold our leaders accountable, things would begin to get better. Instead of holding the government responsible for failing and disappointing majority of Nigerians, you are busy blaming the opposition for some misguided statements it made in 2011. 4 Likes |

Resign? that is actually what the above mentioned groups intend to achieve with the chaos being unleashed on the Nigerian entity. U might be a sympathiser of none of them by choice but ur actions or rather ur posts depicts u as one. We all know who is or are the problems of Nigeria. It's not Jonathan. |

STANPASQUAL: Oh, they have not killed enough to make a sensitive president resign and save the country further bloodshed? Don't worry, they will soon add your blood to it, heartless animal. Tell me, is GEJ's ambition greater than the lives that have been lost? If his children were among those slaughtered or kidnapped, would he continue to hold on to his ambition. How many people would die for GEJ before he eventually stops the terrorists? If I hold a gun to your son's head and tell you to drop $50,000, would you not drop it or run around for it? If GEJ had a child in the custody of BH, would he not resign if that were the ransom to pay? If your child or relative was kidnapped, I guess you wouldn't mind as long as GEJ does not bend to the antics of BH. When prominent people get kidnapped, you see the government working tirelessly to free them but if it is the child of a poor person, we hear ediots like you telling us that they are using it to threaten the government. WHO is threatening the government? You deserve to be in the situation of those who have lost people (especially, children) to this senseless war. 5 Likes |

MrPresident1:Well said. It even starts from the way we address our president even behind his back. I remember visiting d US some years back and every American I met would say President Obama & First Lady Michelle in all our conversations. I found it strange & asked myself why such culture is not in Nigeria. We insult our president anyhow. Even d old farmer in Otta couldn't have taken one tenth of the insults he hurls at the incumbent, when he was in Aso rock. Sometime ago, Gbenga Aruleba insisted that one of his guests on focus Nigeria correct himself by saying President Jonathan & not Jonathan on his programme. I wish he & his colleagues in d electronic media could instil this culture in Nigerians. I personallyrsonally think we all need attitudinal change. 1 Like |

great1: Were you still in Kindergarten during Obasanjo's government? most of his strident critics were from his own part of the country and of same religion. Gani, Falana, Soyinka, and journalists like Simon Kolawole, Segun Adeniyi, Rueben Abati were never short of criticism of Obsanjo during his 8 years. Today any dissension from any south-south against Jonathan's government is mobbed by the multitudes like you yet you come here touting one fake freedom of speech. Have you forgotten the recent seizures and destruction of newspapers by security agents that the Jonathan government acknowledged was true but acceptable to them? Is that press freedom? 2 Likes |

STANPASQUAL: See the reason majority of voters in the SW voted for Jonathan is not necessarily the same reason majority of voters in SE/SS preferred him in 2011. Likewise today the reasons a large section of SW wants to vote Buhari in 2015 is not exact same reasons for his cult following in the North. It is only called convergence of aspirations. We cannot sacrifice our life for another 4 years to shore up and support incompetence because a terrorist group also wants the same ends. It has been proven now that the reason Nigeria is poorly run is not because of the ethnic group or religion of the president. In the last 16 years southerners and christian lead Nigeria for 13 years and we are still hopeless and messed up. 2 Likes |

great1: The problem I see here is that you don't have enough education to understand how an oval office works. Nigeria has no head of state by function, "clown of state" is more appropriate. while cutting his excellency some slacks, hope you are still running generators at home, are you buying Diesel at 155naira in a deregulated product at falling crude prices? are you still plying bad roads, how far for the security of your children? because the way Nigeria is someone can walk in to your home, r@pe your mother and walk away? in the face of all these you still think there is someone in the Oval office, naaa, you have just lost your self worth, you are just a sub human walking the face of the earth. Go and give your life a meaning first to know when to feel embarrassed, trampled upon, humiliated and abused, only then are you fit to discuss who is culpable. 2 Likes |

Let those that are insulting the president continue if the like. But one thing is sure, president Goodluck will surely leave that office one day. By then those insulting would have created a culture of insulting presidency in Nigeria. This has shown how unpatrotic Nigerians are by nature. You may wonder why it has not been happeniig with the past presidents. Its because social media was never as it is now in nigeria |
