2sExy1: Ok. From ur experience have u ever been the only one to place a backorder for a premium (.com) domain?? I ask this because i'm having a hard time trusting some of these companies. I took a walk from domaining yrs back when i came up with a good two-word domain and used a reputable domain appraisal site back den to evaluate it. I made d mistake of not registering it dat same day only to go come back d next day to find out someone registered it d previous day around d time i used d appraisal site. Its possible dat these backorder companies participate in auctions themselves just to price out regular domainers and secure d premium domains. What do u think? 1 Like |

Emeca:lol... Yes I have but that's for trend domain names but most valuable domains that fit the quick flip category will definitely enter auctions. I backordered Web Insurance before it was won, over 26 people placed a backorder on it via namejet.com. When people backorder a name at namejet, you can easily see the numbers. Now considering the fact that pheenix, which eventually caught the name, is fairly popular, we should be expecting just around the same number on there because Naturally, no one uses just one backorder company. So, I will just cross my legs and watch the auction for the next 3 days unfold. |

Guys, I am kinda of confused here... Maybe due to limited knowledge. I found a domain name which I didn't know its meaning before hand. I googled it and found out that it is a name of an animal, shelled animal actually. Let say it is Oyster.com(cos dey are almost same). There is a specie of this creature that is edible to humans. It is taken in many extension... Despite these findings, I still didn't see much value in the name, possibly due to its non popularity Today, I checked Estibot and it was valued at $10.000. I am not really expecting it to sell as much as $10,000. My current domaining style is to find domains that i can sell on flippa. The domain in question is 1 word. One of the key elements of Flippa sales page is to pitch a convincing writeup. If I don't see much value it could be hard to write a nice sales pitch. I will admit that my mind does not see the value in the name even though all indicators point to that fact. Do you agree that the name is valuable since it is taken in other extensions and estibot valued it at $10,000? Should I accept the facts I found as key pointers? It's more like your research is telling you there is gold in there.. BUT you who has carried out the research is doubting what you researched. @2sExy1....If I were you, I would go for the name without looking back. Yes, the name is kinda generic considering the fact that it's a one word name belonging to a species of animal. If you are not yet convinced about the potential and quality of the name, I think you can make further research on what a single animal-keyword name had been sold for in the past, that should give you some clues. Meanwhile, I had never had such an experience in the past, and I haven't sold any name on or make the attempt of selling on Flippa before, although I have checked their list of previously sold names in the past. So, I might not be in the right position to say how best to write a good winning sales letter or review on a name. I think you can try do a little research on there, to get the necessary clues you need, to fire up a good sales page review of the name, a little goggling here and there should help you as well. If , in the end you still don't feel good acquiring the name, you may want to reveal the name to me by sending me an email, so I can go for it.  All the best! |

DoroMega:Yes, one word .co and two words category killer like WebDesign dot co. Apart from these, a few 3L .co will sell. Anything outside of all these is a no-no. The only play available to you is 3L or future trend. Some of the future trends of today may become category killers of tomorrow. So those who pick them up in .co get rewarded, even though not as much as .com. |
