We must first admit in our heart that creation and our being is beyond what an imperfect man can put together. After scaling the hurdle of consciousness of a supernatural being, our next inquisition should be narrowed to who he is and how he can be known.

Every religion of the world touch a bit of the supernatural being. We must discern what religion esteem the creature to the religion that points us to the creator.

The next hurdle should be the religion that best describes man and the one that best describe God in His fullness. This might demand a lot of interest, study and willingness to learn.

I do not think the deviation of Christianity has gotten so bad that it is now believed that Jesus(peace be upon him) is the Creator. If he was , then he probably prayed to himself abi? and prostrated to himself right? and cried to himself right? and was a Prophet to himself right?. He was only a noble messenger, respected in this world and the afterlife. An honored slave!

This is an honest question that believers do not like to ask themselves. You are a Christian or Muslim simply because your parents were, and thus indoctrinated you with it. Some of you overzealous Christians would have been terrorists by now, had you been raised in a Muslim home.

Lets be honest, we are all born into a culture , religion and tradition. We are a product of these factors plus the additional factor of parental upbringing.

Considering that there are over 50 world religions including the main ones , i.e Islam and Christianity each with a plethora of denominations or sects , especially in Christianity with over 40,000 sects and still growing, how can one be 100% confident that his/her religion and sect is the right one ??

Mr A is a Muslim and can swear with his life that Islam is the one and true religion and without this no one can be saved, Mr B is a Christian who believes that anyone who does not believe in Jesus is forever lost. But they were born into these religions and were tutored from kindergarten that they ONLY worship the true GOD.

Furthermore at a high level , the Sunnis believe the Shiites are hell bound and vice versa, Deeperlife believe they have the right doctrines but so do Christ embassy and redeemed.

We have so many doctrines, teachings, beliefs etc , but HOW DOES MAN FILTER THROUGH ALL THIS CONFUSION TO KNOW WHICH IS THE RIGHT WAY ?

Knowing that 40% of the worlds population will never agree with Islam or Christianity or may not even have heard about them, how can we be so sure that we are right and they are wrong and we are saved but they are damned. What is the premise for your conclusion ?

Since all them cannot be right , it is then likely that all of them are wrong.

But seriously, the explanation is right there in your face.
Beliefs are mere mental constructs. Different minds, different personalities, different cultures , all have different mental constructs.

What happens once in a while is that some dominant and charismatic individuals either persuade others or bamboozle others to follow and adopt his(usually male) own mental constructs for some time, until the another rises to start the cycle again.
That's how we ended up with countless religions and countless sects and denominations.

Christians believe that Jesus is God. The point of this thread is to figure out why you disagree, when you and a Christian will agree on almost everything else not related to religion.

Don't you think it is better to allow people to live with their mental constructs rather than exchange it for a society with a dead conscience and no fear of retribution from higher beings like God? In as much as I have consistently said that religion alone contributes more and has killed more people than it has ever saved it is still a necessary tool to control the conscience of men to an extent.

Have you noticed the attitude of a child raised by ardent atheists ,how do they relate with kids that are raised by a religious people?
I bet you that if you open your eyes to what a society we would end up with without religion ,you will begin to appreciate how religion has helped mankind to make sense of his existence and usefulness even as it continuously make us too dumb.

How did u arrive at the conclusion that the past Prophets could have been living in lies when I stated clearly that they all preached the same message and that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) only brought the message from God which is a confirmation of what came before. None of the Prophets ever ordered that you worship other than the Creator, they all preached the message of submission to the Creator. and Islam is derived from the root word of Submission and peace!

The reality is that in order to answer the question, of which religion is the right one, we've got to think for ourselves based on available information.
We've got to think from the known to the unknown
If per adventure I find myself inside a moving train or a bus, which kind of questions would I ask myself? Why am I here? Where is this train going to? Where am I coming from? Who placed me here? What is expected of me?...
Everyone other thing would be insignificant until I find answers to these questions.
Unfortunately, we've all taken these life defining questions for granted. If we spend our entire lives seeking the reasons, essence and source of our existence, it would be worthwhile.
We end up depending on others for answers. Lets ask ourselves. Can we depend on another stranger's description when locating a new place. Then why depend on others for answers to these questions. It will be unacceptable if we agree with others' opinions on these hook, line and sinker without thinking through them thoroughly.
Read the Quran, Bible, Torah e.t.c and ask yourself some important questions:
Can Jesus be God?
After death what next?
Who is my Creator?
Why did He create me?
