I think 14 years is kinda young to start dating. He might have been having sex with her since then. I think she only followed him to the party based on trust gained during the 2 years of dating. The rapists deserve a severe punishment.

But to answer your question: I would not allow my daughter to "date" at 14 but I will not hold it against her for liking a guy. It's about guiding her through that phase and making her understand how these things work. None of that "you dare not have a boyfriend" nonsense. That is a different issue entirely. Following boys to a different state is abother issue. Like I said in my response to lilimax, the level of the relationship is something else that needs to be addressed even at 16.

Am I against dating at 16? No
Am I in support of better parental involvement and control? Yes.

I will want to know if my daughter is dating a guy at 16 and be able to caution her accordingly. And I hope that I would have raised my child well enough for her to know not to go across states with her boyfriend at the age of 16.

To me the Rapist is bad but the girl is badest sorry worst.Let me paint a picture to make you people understand: Somebody called missterious to meet him in Zeneith bank for a cash of 1.5million as interest on the buisness u did together.Now on getting there missterious the bank is not open,Will missterious stay there?

This is why its good for a girl to say "shes gotta think about it first" when a guy asks her out. So she can take out some time to investigate him and the kinda friends he keeps- get to understand his personality more before she agrees to date him.

If she had investigated first, she probably wont have dated him- also she wont have been obliged to travel with him for a party.
