As a matter of fact, We Nigerians are not bothered with the barking of a Chiwawa dog when we are already used to the roars of a lion (bokoharam). When GMB decimates Boko Haram finish , you chiwawa militants would crawl out from your creeks and beg for mercy.

I will attempt a response to you because you stated you are no fan of either parties.

There are lots of children on nairaland. I have read comments saying they should take their oil yet never said how the country will survive without the oil.

The truth is, we are stuck with the ND oil for the near and medium term as a country and we can only get out of it if the policies of GEJ on diversification are aggressively followed for the next 6 years.

When the militants say war, reason appropriately. They will only set the oil facilities in their backyard on fire and this does not take more than 20mins. But the resultant effect of that 20mins activity is massive. Oil and gas facilities are not fixed like cars in few days, it takes months and years.

No oil operator will keep running an oil production facillity in a chaotic region. Even if you mobilize the entire army to the creeks, the oil majors will not be in a haste to send the workers back in there. This was the case just few years back.

In between, our revenue is lost. No allocation to states, no salaries (remember 75% of employed nigerians are employed by the govt), no projects, zero investor confidence, no gas to run electricity power plants, anarchy, chaos will be the order of the day.

Am not sure most Nigerians have thought this through before commenting. The few who have are looking at relocating their loved ones after the election.

The militants did it before and Obj and his army could do very little with violence. Yaradua was smart with negotitions and amnesty. Before Buhari is done dealing with the menace, 4yrs will be gone with so much pain. So the kids proposing force and violence for such delicate issue are just the kids they are.
may God bless your mother for this brilliant brain,, infact I need an autograph

my own is that if the so called war starts, the South East will remain neutral... BUT will not serve as any military buffer zone or launching ground for either aggressors cause we will stack up the arms and be ready for any eventuality...but if push comes to shove, our alliance will always be with the people of the SS region.

If the nomads up north and their South Western underlings are using this artificial 'insecurity' created by them to blackmail and bully Jonathan out of office, then one definitely understands the position of the Niger Delta militant commanders.

This whole or. g.y of terrorism and violence in the North has been systematically used to discredit Jonathan's government. In many ways, the election wouldn't be a fair contest if many voters who ordinarily should be swayed by Jonathan achievements in diverse sectors are manipulated to vote for Buhari in the name of insecurity and Boko Haram. That will be difficult to accept.

If that's the case, then the militants would also need to reciprocate the 'gesture' ten-fold in the unlikely event that the North succeeds in installing their jihadist son as president. I guess that's the issue here.

Have you heard of the term politicking and campaigning ! , what is GEJ doing with his 21 billion he needs to start canvassing and stating his achievements in the lives of the average Nigerian in Kaduna, Ilesha , Owerri, Ilorin, Jos, PH , Lagos , sokoto , Borneo etc and Buhari state the alternative he can offer.

Ultimately let the Nigerians decide who their choice leader is. It is sad when educated individuals descend to smear and rascality and attempt to justify near do goods rantings and chest beatings . People like Tompolo , Dokubo boy loaf would be ashamed to show their face in a civilised society

This should not be considered a threat but a PROMISE. Not one drop of oil for the economy of Nigeria. The war won't be against Nigerians as it were but MASSIVELY against the economy should GEJ not get reelected.
The 5 major IOCs Total, Shell, Agip, Chevron and Mobil know this and that's why they are selling assets and suspending further expansion contracts till after the outcome of the elections.
It takes years and millions of dollars to set up an oil and gas installation, but just 5 mins for a N1,500 explosive to run it down. Not to talk of suicide bombers too.
This has been my worry, cos, should buhari win (God forbids), just like they used boko haram to discredit the GEJ Administration, then buhari shall taste this cake.

In any case, I'm certain GEJ will win.

You will blow up oil and gas installations that have been sold to Nigerians and impoverish yourselves for more than three generations. The world has finished with the Niger delta. They dont give a shit for your valueless oil. Nigeria is going agriculture and solid minerals and we know where we will be in one year. The Niger delta will be in serious hunger, kidnapping, piracy, cultism for the next ten years I am sure. Buhari is the next President we want to see you people destroy yourselves and I will be the first to show you this post again one and a half years from now.

Another lie. After witnessing what Yar'adua did to Boko Haram in Maiduguri, the militants had no choice but to seek for amnesty. They reckoned; If this man (Yar'adua) could massacre thousands of his fellow northerners in Maiduguri, what he'll do to us if we dont seek for peace could be worse.

What people lik you did not know was that Yar'adua heavy handedness in dealing with Boko Haram during their first insurrection in Maiduguri, was to send a message to the Niger Delta militants...and fortunately for them, they understood the message.
BOKO HARAM DESIRES TO ISLAMISE NIGERIA AND REMAIN IN NIGERIA. BUT THESE GUYS (MILITANTS) WANT TO GO THEIR OWN WAY. JUST LET THEM GO WITH THEIR OIL AND ENJOY YOUR NIGERIA. THERE MUST NOT BE COMPULSION IN NATIONHOOD. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TAKE HOSTAGE ANY GROUP UNDER ANY GUISE BE IT HEIST OR EXCUSE OF COUNTRY OR NATION. LET THEM GO THEY DONT WANT YOU NA BY FORCE? OR ARE YOU PERSONALLY READY TO DIE TO TAKE WHAT IS THEIRS AS THEY ARE READY TO DIE TO KEEP IT (FUTURE AND DESTINY)?

LET THEM BE OR LET THEM GO.

God will help us in Nigeria ooo!

As for me I stand for transformation and continuity of the progress we are currently experiencing in different sectors of the economy. Let Jonathan complete the transformation.

My vote to GEJ!

After the next four years, irrespective of whoever wins, Nigeria will still remain precisely the same, transformation will only take place within the families, friends and associates of political office holders. Corruption, unemployment, epileptic power and water supply, insecurity of lives and properties will continue to rear their ugly heads.

Blatant lie. Gowon is from a minotity tribe called Ngas. IBB is Nupe, a minority tribe. Abatcha is kanuri, a minority tribe. Abdulsalami is gwari, a minority tribe....no more lies to find sympathy for your Otueke-bound son. Come May 2015, GMB would be sworn in and nothing would happen.

You all have forgotten that we have strong military force that can put an end to issues of both boko haram and niger militant within 24 hours under ideal situations. I believe that boko haram will find it harder if gej returns.

Read through various comments and was disapointed. Why will the Igbos/Ijaws come out to cry that "Northerners are forcing them to stay."

No one is forcing Ijaws not to drink their oil or to continue in Nigeria; but don't threaten the rest of Nigeria with war. We have too many problems already and we don't want threats being thrown at us.

That said, many keep saying Nigeria can't survive without oil. You lots (Igbos/Ijaws) say you want to drink or take your oil along; now when others( Yorubas/Hausa) say "ok you can have your oil", you turn around and start taunting us with "you cannot survive without ND oil?" who said we can't survive. And it is better we die of hunger than allow GEJ continue ruling us. People are dieing in the North already.

GEJ must go. Mo cop se tang?

I am very happy and expect this war. I am from the south east. Times have changed. If the whole of Nigeria couldn't defeat the Igbo only in 3 yrs until we willingly surrendered, so how can these motherfuckers from north or west defeat combined forces of east and south south ?

I want a replay of this Biafra war and I am happy my Igbo leaders have learnt that war is fought with allies. I advice igbos and south south to seek the help of mercenary nations like China and Russia who go for the highest payer.

Now we can reach agreement to wipe out northern Muslims for 10yrs of oil mining with China.
What bargaining chips does northern cowards have? And lest I forget america and Britain and foreign UN powers won't support NY Islamic state in war.

I see doom and retaliation soon against the Yoruba, hausas and fulanis .
Please let this war start let me drink me some cowards blood

Don't be myopic . Nigeria has been destroyed long time ago . Some of are waking into political consciousness of Nigeria . Some people have been ruling this country and others keep mute and maintain peace even while corruption, embezzlement , destruction of life and property esp in the north . Now power has changed hand thru divine intervention then some people don't like it hence the attack on GEJ . Gej had tried to embrace other marginalised ethnic groups like the ss , s east and Nc .Other regions that have enjoined and monopolised the juicy positions started crying fowl . even up till now GEJ govt still favours the North just appease the North but yet they still want their own man as the president . Born to rule mentality and religion undertone .

This is a fact people have to accept . Even if you put a goat as APC presidential aspirant ,people will still vote in the goat as long as it is not GEJ

Nobody is disputing that. It is very simple. You take back your we take our oil. After all Nigeria never owned the kola nut and the cotton. Why oil become a Nigeria property. What we are saying is that since these products were never owned by country we are laying claim to the oil until the Hausa-Fulani leave their born to rule mentality. We are not begging.

If War happens, the militants will lose, if you blow up oil installations and the govt of GMB stops food supplies to ND how will you fight or will you fight on empty stomach.Besides this is not abt Jonathan coming from a minority tribe, the whole Nigeria voted for him in 2011 now if that same masses say they won't vote for him wat now makes its bcoz he is from Niger Delta they want him out of office. This threat from the militants is a threat to democracy, besides the best way to leave Nigeria is through a peaceful accord or else Niger Delta pple will suffer u can't farm on your land ow do u survive if war comes since u ve blown up all the oil installations. The rest of Nigeria can still survive on Agriculture even if they won't b rich as before how do you survive with blown up oil rigs and installations u won't be able to sell d oil.

From the comments above, it is obvious that Nigerians.....Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Ijaw, etc....are not really interested in development. They are all interested in chopping money.

I have a suggestion for everyone in this thread.(AND I MEAN EVERYONE!). Stop running after crumbs. Go out and work hard for a living. We are not a rich nation....and we cannot survive another war. Stop stoning presidential convoys. And stop threatening war. Another war here will make Somalia look like a pleasant Shangri-la by comparison.
