I'm beginning to think the process for it in Nigeria takes a whole lot of time and you don't need the DOV here at the Embassy. Your school needs it in Italy. You can actually make your trip to Italy, enrol at your school and they will understand your DOV will be ready later on. You can always submit it at the time of your second year enrolment. Keep in mind that it has to be ready before your second academic year which I believe will be ready by then. jennybacky: |

Re: Italian Student Visa-help! by superior1: 2:43am On Jan 29, 2015 |
jennybacky: As a suggestion, you can send them a status enquiry email. BTW, what do you need the legalization for? |

superior1:i have been leaving in italy for the past few years and now wishes to continue my education to master level. i have sent them mail two days ago but no responds. thanks anyway. |
Re: Italian Student Visa-help! by superior1: 11:04am On Jan 29, 2015 |
jennybacky:Then give them a call, they respond quite often to calls coming from Italy and if you have decided on a school, you can ask the school to send in a mail of urgency on your behalf. |

Well, you can always keep trying. You've just tried for two days. Keep trying. Ask your choice of college to contact the embassy on your behalf. You can always ask the International Office to do that for you. jennybacky: 1 Like |

You'll find so many schools in Italy open for admission now. Because It's January and this is the time admission starts for September intake (2015/16). damitola: I don't think using a lawyer against them will speed the process. Just hang in there for sometime. jennybacky: |
Re: Italian Student Visa-help! by Pelumiv(m): 7:12am On Feb 04, 2015 |
damitola: My advice for you is if you want to come to Italy to study, do not dare to go to there Polytechnic unless you are applying for Masters. You can pick Polytechnic for Bachelors degree if you are a superman because they make it very hard in those schools and people with Africa standard of education make it very hard to cope. My 2cent and do not say i do not warn anyone here. Many use 5 years for a program of 3 years. |

Re: Italian Student Visa-help! by DanIndia(m): 8:55am On Feb 06, 2015 |
And DamiTola, do keep in mind that whether or not you'll be studying in a UNI does not make the Syllabus different. If they will differ, it will only be a few topics or less and in some cases, the UNI syllabuses maybe a little bit indepth (theoretically) where as in Polytechnics, there will be lots of practicals. And if you plan to do anything related to Engineering or Sciences, you must be very good in Maths, and when I mean Maths, not the Maths (simultaneous equation) when we dey do for Naija, I'm talking Abstract Algebra etc which means you should be thoroughly acquainted with Further Maths. Studies outside Nigeria can be a pain in the butt if you go with the Nigerian Education mentality.. and it wouldn't be much ideal if you graduate with a Second Class lower from a University abroad. That being said, everything is possible. If you devote time to study your courses and read very often, you may even get to top your class (It's nothing new). All I'm trying to say in a very simple word is - You are going to have to study hard if you plan to study abroad (Italy or anywhere else). 5 Likes |
