Nice work brother! You have done a great work here.

Is because of this kind of selfishness that's why we have a lots of demolitions and abandoned projects here in Abuja where I based.

When they mess up the whole thing, they will now come back for amendment.

@lawyer for almost 4 years now that you have being writing about scams like
These people are still paying those omonile
to marry new wife's and buy new range rover, na waoooo. So the brother can not pay 50k for your service but he can afford 5m for the land
I hope the guy they Naija sha no bi one of us in diaspora, because that loan he toke he will be paying big intrest on it for years to come.

As a Professionally registered Civil Engineer, and speaking from experience, I personally have no Pity for such Cheapskate clients when they eventually run into trouble. Ordinary 50k to pay for a transaction valued at 5 million..The guy still refuse.

It is this sort of people that will buy a 6 million Naira car, and refuse to track it.

It is this kind of people that will want to economise on every aspect of the Building construction, even structurally risky aspects, attempt to pay professionals very poorly, and even employ quacks on their projects.

I am sorry, but it serves him right.

You're part of the problem that you ranted about.

How about if your organization sets up a database where citizens can get information like a title company in developed countries?

There is a way to reply opinions on social media, without attacking personalities. If you don't know, the word ''rant'' connotes meaningless jabber typical of a mad individual...are you now implying that I am an example of such an individual?...Please correct your mistake.

To answer your opinion, I am not..and I believe professional engineers are not part of the problem..you guys only remember there are engineers when your house has issues..

This database that you are talking about..can you throw more light on what you mean EXACTLY?.

I stand by what I wrote and my specific choice of words and I offer no apologies.

Edit: The intent of my post was to invoke and promote a conversation and I harbor no ulterior motive.

Instead of your continued rants you ought to get together professionally and offer and effect solutions.

I dont Know why it is impossible for some people to be Civil...especially when their errors have been pointed out....needless arrogance...which is a combination of Ignorance and stupidity might be the reason for this.....Try to be Civil.

Now, to answer the question You are not asking..Building a House that will stand the test of time without having to break the bank is actually very simple.

Just Follow the steps below.

How to build a House that will not Collapse:

1. Pay A professional Architect to Design the House for You.

2. Pay A professional Civil/Structural Engineer to carry Out the Structural Design of the Building for you.

3. Pay An Electrical Engineer to design the electrical system of the house for you.

4. Pay A Mechanical Engineer to design the plumbing and air-conditioning system of the Building.

5. Pay A professional Quantity Surveyor to prepare the Bill of Quantities, Material Schedule, Labour Schedule and Construction Schedule for the Building for You.

6. Pay Professional Artisans to erect the Building for you.

7. Pay a Professional Builder to supervise the construction for you.

8. Pay a Project Manager to supervise the Professional Builder, and supervise all other commercial aspects of the construction.

The statement you made concerning professionals getting together to offer and effect solutions is a pointless one if you have taken the time to do more research on the efforts of the NIA or NSE etc...

Ask questions. Do not Just Assume.

You sound very frustrated and as such I pity your clients.

You posted three very long response and yet you've not addressed one issue that I challenged you with. Instead you go off tangent and into even more rants.

PS: Calling me name and trying to be classy at the same time doesn't work well for you. In any case I'm immune to juvenile attempts like that. Answer the question that I asked, directly if you can. Please sprinkle more pet names for me in your response but at least address the question.

Oga....So I now sound frustrated?..abi?...and you now pity my Clients?....Because I paid you back with disrespect..when you Clearly Started the whole thing, and failed to yield to simple Correction...

Again, It is well.

What question are you asking exactly?

Remember, questions end with question marks.

So, ask me an explicit question.....not ambiguous opinions you are trying to pass off as one.

Be precise.

What disrespect? Sir, first I have to have earned your respect and basked in it's glory before I can feel disrespected by you. And that ain't happening any time soon. Regrettably I know grin

I refer you back to my original posting, take time to read it and then the question will appear to you.

Edit: I hold you and your professional organization at large for the responsibility in which buildings are constructed in a way that they collapse.

What has your organization done to stem that ebb? Have you petitioned the approval department to ensure that the necessary professional organizations signs off on each construction as it's done in developed countries?

Oh yes, you'll rather just come online and rant and rave and hand wrangle like an old lady. This "it's not my problem/job" thing is wrecking the nation".

Typical.

But please for the sake of the innocent parties that are going to surfer the dire consequences, at your next organizational meeting, don't just scoff meat pie and coke, please do something to ensure that only structural edifices are springing up.

Have a nice day.
