APC may not be the best Nigerian Dream, but it is better than the PDP that has turned the Nigerian Dream into the Nigerian Nightmare since 1999 to date.
Forget the statistics of the political spin doctors of President Goodluck Jonathan and his hired crowds of sycophants.

Every single day, Nigeria loses about 2,300 under-five year olds and 145 women of childbearing age. This makes the country the second largest contributor to the under–five and maternal mortality rate in the world.
Underneath the statistics lies the pain of human tragedy, for thousands of families who have lost their children. Even more devastating is the knowledge that, according to recent research, essential interventions reaching women and babies on time would have averted most of these deaths.
Although analyses of recent trends show that the country is making progress in cutting down infant and under-five mortality rates, the pace still remains too slow to achieve the Millennium Development Goals of reducing child mortality by a third by 2015.
~ UNICEF Nigeria, http://www.unicef.org/nigeria/children_1926.html

If President Goodluck Jonathan has done well in health care, he and his family and more than 5,000 Nigerians will not need to spend more than N78 billion to travel to India and other countries every month on medical trips. If he and his family are afraid of using our hospitals, then it means he has failed to provide good and safe health care services.

Education:
With approximately 10.5 million kids out of school, Nigeria holds the world record of having the highest number of its young people out of school according to current reports.

The quality of secondary school and post secondary education is deplorable with many unqualified teachers and lecturers, because of the appalling deterioration of colleges of education in Nigeria and out-of-sync academic curricula and terrible campuses with horrible living conditions.
None of the children of President Goodluck Jonathan and his public officials attends public schools in Nigeria, because they know they are bad.
They have misappropriated public funds and ill gotten riches from over-invoiced government contracts, illegal oil blocks and fuel subsidy contracts to build their own private schools after neglecting the public schools.

Agriculture and food security:
In spite of the commendable agricultural projects of the federal government, Nigeria is still spending more than N600bn annually on food importation, including N991bn on Rice and Wheat Importation.

Roads and Transportation:
The PDP government brags about road construction, but Nigerian roads are still among the worst in the world with second worst record for road accidents.

Nigerian airports have been renovated, but they are still rated among the worst in the world.
Nigeria has no national carrier whereas other African countries like South Africa, Kenya and Ethiopia have well managed airlines.

The rehabilitation of railways is commendable, but still a far cry from modern rail transport system in the 21st century.

Economic development and Employment:
Lagos state is actually the success of the fast developing Nigerian economy that made the country the largest African economy. Lagos is the largest employer of labour with 90% of foreign investors in Lagos, the safest place in Nigeria. The Lagos state model of economic development should be copied by the Federal Government instead of the PDP making childish and foolish allegations against the APC government.
See The New York Times: Nigeria is “the Worst Run of the World’s Most Populated Countries” | Can Lagos Save Her?
Seth D. Kaplan, a lecturer at Johns Hopkins University, writes on “What Makes Lagos a Model City“.
Lagos State transport system alone creates more jobs than the entire PDP states.
Lagos is the most populated state, because millions of jobless youths from the PDP states come to Lagos where they have more job opportunities.

National Security:
Lack of executive experience and political expertise made President Goodluck Jonathan to fail woefully in national security.
He forgot that a stitch in time saves nine and failed to deal with the Boko Haram insurgency since 2009 and preferred to point accusing fingers at the opposition until his own kinsman the late General Owoye Azazi (retd) discovered that the PDP was responsible for the worsening situation of the Boko Haram insurgency. President Jonathan sacked him and the great general was later killed on December 15, 2012 in a mysterious helicopter crash in Okoroba Village of Bayelsa State while on the way back to the Port-Harcourt Airport.
President Jonathan's glaring cowardice and incompetence have caused the mismanagement of national security from the Niger Delta to Lake Chad.
The most shocking is the lackadaisical manner President Goodluck Jonathan handled the case of the kidnapped Chibok school girls since April 14, 2014. He lived in denial of the incident with his wife, First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan disgracing Nigeria by her childish and foolish reaction to the missing school girls. And her husband was even scared of visiting the school! But he was not afraid of later going to Maiduguri for his presidential campaign. He has abandoned the search to rescue the over 200 missing Chibok school girls.

Cases of oil theft have increased under President Goodluck Jonathan with stolen crude oil from Nigeria sold openly in Togo and offshore before the watch of the Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA)
http://www.chathamhouse.org/sites/files/chathamhouse/public/Research/Africa/0913pr_nigeriaoil_es.pdf

The APC has a presidential candidate who has the proven record of crushing insurgents in northern Nigerian in 1984 and 1985 and also tacking the menace of oil theft. His military expertise gives him the advantage that he will be a more pragmatic Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces. He has the military experience, intelligence and expertise to guaranty his executive competence.

The fact is, things can be better with a more accountable and responsible government that can reduce the rampant corrupt practices destroying Nigeria. And the APC is the only party than can guaranty the national security and welfare of the citizens of Nigeria. [/size]

Mynd44:
The APC which seems to be the main opposition to the PDP in Nigeria has for sometime now been vigorously pushing for the ousting of President Jonathan and his administration in the next general elections and they will need the votes of the general public. They’ve been doing some convincing to the people who are undecided, now regarded with the somewhat derogatory term of “fencist”. Right now, I find myself sitting down wondering about some important issues. My questions are based on these points.

Body Language: In the last Presidential elections, the APC (or if you like ACN) had a candidate to run against the president and just hours before the election, they allegedly dumped him for reasons best known to them. This singular act shows them as unserious and some might even say they are just in the race for running sake. In my opinion, the greatest damage done by that singular act was to their supporters and of course the candidate, AIG Nuhu Ribadu (rtd). After all the resources and funds put into a campaign you chicken out in the end and leave your people to dry? It speaks volume as they have set a precedence of them being unserious.

Candidates: I am not comfortable with some presidential candidates the APC brought. Buhari, Atiku etc are not what I will call presidential materials either based on past mismanagement of funds or being a dictator to human right abuses. Why not others? How come more people are not opting to contest and seek office? Must we be saddled with the same old people? Yes we know people like Kwankwoso and Rochas contested in the primary but still it was evident from the start that it was a battle between Buhari and Atiku. Atiku was third (which remains a shocker)

Insecurity: This is another problem. We all admit that this is a problem for all Nigerians but has the APC done enough to fight it? Have they shown support towards fighting this scourge that has left thousands dead, about a million displaced and also fear in the heart of a lot of Nigerians? What has the APC done to support the fight apart from endless criticism? Have APC brought out or proffered solutions to fighting this? The killing of members of the NYSC in the North after the elections comes to mind. Some may say that most of the perpetrators were CPC supporters but they have joined the ACN to form APC, so APC should please answer. Statements: This is another point that has been scary (well to me). A lot of statements credited to top members of the APC has not been comfortable ones. I find it careless and annoying the statements I hear and sometimes, I fear they can cause war.

Notable amongst these statements is the threat by the Director-General of their Presidential campaign, Governor Rotimi Amaechi that a parallel government will be formed if they lose. Does anyone remember that this kind of action led to the arrest and detention of Chief MKO Abiola?

Political Prostitution: It is difficult seeing a candidate scream XYZ today and tomorrow screams ABC. Most of the members of the APC were once in the opposition which they labelled as thieves and corrupt. Look at the case of Ekiti where Segun Oni joined the APC. That is a move that shocked even me because everyone remember the propaganda war he had with Fayemi before the courts declared in Fayemi’s favor. Endless Criticisms: Okay so the APC plays the role of an opposition party well. Yes they know how to criticize everything this administration does when campaigning but is that what their campaigns are about? I am tired of hearing what the other guys are going, what do you have for us. When you criticize, you need to also give solutions so you don’t seem to be just doing it because you can or because you are against them. The APC and PDP are both agents of Nigeria’s development right but how about saying what the government is doing right and then when you say what they are doing wrong, tell them what they should have done.

Future Plans: What does the APC have for us? What are their ideas, what will they do about security, poverty, electricity, mortality rate. Education etc. No one is talking about this or they are not talking about it enough. It seems to be a case of making a lot of noise but not really saying anything.

http://opinionriver.com/oluwamynd-vote-apc-2015/

Though these are not all, they are enough to wake us up as to the danger of voting APC and Buhari. They just want the treasury. Nigerians wake up and smell the roses, coffee, whatever!

OP, when did security become the responsibility of the APC, not even a state? Items 38 and 45 of the exclusive legislative list place security in the hands of the FG.

pendy79:

I think it is incumbent on we all to educate and enlighten ourselves before we come forth to public fora to give wrong information.

1) your body movement talk? There was a last minute discussion between then ACN and CPC to go into the 2011 election in a coalition but time constraints and INEC guideline prevented the merger of sort. BUHARI was to run on his CPC ticket but drop pastor Tunde Bakare as running mate while ACN produce the running mate. The coalition talk reached advanced stage with Ribadu compelled to step down and he voluntarily did don't know where your story of sell out came from! Buhari later reneged on the drop Tunde Bakare deal based on his feelings that he had done a lot to convinced him to take the ticket and the influence of some forces he didnt like associating with telling him what to do made him decide to forgo the coalition.

The ACN was in limbo and Ribadu wasn't convinced any more to run hence the ACN had technically withdrew from the race. So that rumour of sell out was figment of imagination of some lousy journalists. Ribadu himself said as much in an interview in 2012. ACN had no agent or monitor at the poll for the presidential election in virtually all states of the federation aside Osun where aregbesola still wanted to show his displeasure to.the last minute withdrawal of Ribadu.

2) APC putting up candidates you don't like? The Presidential nomination form of the APC was open and sold to anyone who wished to enter the race to contest. It is stupidity and lazy thinking to accuse the party of picking its candidate from a particular lot when everybody had a chance to buy the form. It is not APC's fault that Obama and Cameron didn't buy the form, even you had an opportunity to buy the form and contest if you wanted to. The party didn't do like PDP who printed just one presidential nomination form.

The process of candidate selection was open from.sale of forms to presidential primaries. Let use our brains here and stop all these lousy talk.

3) it is a dull reasoning to accuse the party of insecurity when it does not control any arm of the security forces. If what Amaechi said is treasonable to you, then utterances of Doyin okupe, asari Dokubo, Tompolo, ateke Tom, ayodele fayose should made them.be at bar beach now facing firing squad. Be objective and commonsensical in your write up. Amaechi said what ever reasonable opposition would say, when Laurent Gbogbo rigged the CIV election to favour himself amd declared himself winner in an election that every observer knew he lost, if Alhassan Quattara remained mute and docile then I'm sure he would be in prison right now or dead like they killed MKO Abiola for daring to seek a mandate of an election the whole world knew he won.fair and square.

The foremost duty of every responsible government is the security of lives and properties of its citizenry and when such government failed in its duties then.it has no moral justification to remain in power. Why not tell Buhari and Tinubu to lead an expedition to sambisa Forrest to liberate the chibok girls so as to prove to you they are concerned about the insecurity in.Nigeria.

4) political prostitution! I guess you want a party of virgins, born again and devout Muslims, sorry if you understand the dynamics of Politics and political opposition to a ruling party then you would know that every person matters in the game of politics. Politics is about interest and a game of numbers. If anybody wishes to associate with it and is ready to abide by the tenets and manifesto of a political party then he/she should be welcomed. I'm sure you won't say PDP had same set of member since 1999, Ogunlewe, obanikoro, T.A orji, Isa Yuguda, Present governor of Kebbi all defected to.the PDP along the line so.it's political ignorance and stupidity to accuse the APC of defectors to it's folds. Go get educated and informed.

5) APC plans! The manifesto of the party has been well package and put on all media you could lay your hands on, from print, news and social media. The campaign of the party and its frequent jingles on the airwaves should educate you enough. I'm sure you're not expecting odigie-oyegun to come to your house to educate you personally.

Shalom and hoping I've freed you from certain misconception and ignorance.

YOU VE SAID IT ALL.

THE FACT IS THEY KNOW GEJ WILL BE DEFEATED IN THE COMING ELECTION BUT THEY SEE HIM AS A MEANS TO SCALE THEIR FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC DIFFICULTIES THAT'S Y YOU SEE THEM JUMPING FENCE .

THEY ARE INCONSEQUENTIAL THOU. AM SO HAPPY WITH THE RESPONSE ON THE STREET. SO MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE ARE ALL READY TO VOTE FOR A CHANGE. WHETHER THEY LIKE IT OR NOT, APC IS THE NEW DEAL - BUHARI IS THE NEW LEADER HENCE LEADERS ALL OVER THE WORLD ARE DISCUSSION THERE RELATIONSHIP WITH NIGERIA COME MAY 29TH.

MYND44 OR WHATEVER HIS HANDLE IS CAN DO WHATEVER HE LIKES WITH HIS VOTE - ITS HIS CHOICE AND HE SHOULDN'T EXPECT ANYBODY TO WASTE TIME TRYING TO CONVINCE HIM TO DO OTHERWISE.

The country has been looming in adverse degeneration, corruption and insecurity.
Imagine when a president says stealing is nt corruption. Just imagine and you want the same person to continue governing us. Think
Gej is actually trying to affect d public mindset abt Gmb by changing d date of d election. Why? Coz d military are nt prepared . Then why his he d c-in-c den when he cant give orders.
Many PDP have myopic view about government they should diffrentiate btwn military and democracy.
In military if u cant be authocratic den u are nt implementing ur trainning and u are condeming a man who ruled under military govt 4 just a year and some mnts. Within dat year history had it dat there was orderliness in d state. Pdp hates discipline coz dey are bunch of indiscipline thugs.
Compraring a man that ruled for 1 and did his best as a military man , compared to a democratic toy dat ruled for 10yrs wt little change. Think
@ op if ur relative is part of chibok girls will u vote a man dat kept quit 4 a month on her whereabout?
If u had a brother who obtain d immigratn form and lost his live searching for employment, will u continue with d govt dat killed ur bro?
Will u vote in a man dat left d nation crisis unattended to and was seen dancing in a rally?
Compare d past waec, neco and other education statistics to the present under ur shoeless man.
Visit the hospitals and see how nurses and other workers are short staffed and also with no instruments to practise well , instead they improvise
Thank God 4 God if not 4 campaing your dear Gej wont adjust and thanks to a man lyk Buhari who is xtending the wave of change to the pdp camp.

Let me start by thanking pendy79 orikinla and demandtruth and other wonderful guys who have replied the op intellectually. I wish mynd44 would be honest enough to address their rebuttal assuming there is any left in him.

Often I have come across the expression "the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know" people ignorantly use this expression without any idea if it's implication. Even though it might be true in some cases, it's not always true in all cases. I would say it's an uncertainty;mathematically 50% for either of the two choices.
Mr A lives in a house with his 5 children. Everyday a beast comes in to the house to kill at least one of the kids. Mr A has been told that leaving the house could be worse. So following this "quotation" Mr A would have to wait in the house so as his family to be killed and perhaps him too. How foolish can one be following this quotation. What every sane man would do is move out with his family in search of help. After all, the worst scenario would be their death which is assured in the other choice. Let's be reasonable here.
Mynd44 is just a person who has the right to choose who he wishes to vote for. I am not surprised he changed his mind. A secondary school friend who was very religious then and into politics now was a praise singer for Apc and recently became a pro PDP. If this my childhood friend's decision can be influenced, I see no reason why others won't be perhaps "compromised" too.
So people celebrating like it's a major event is totally useless and uncalled for. In fact there would always be inter-party defection. Some as a result of their conscience and some otherwise.
I am not happy with the current situation of my country and am ready to try the devil or angel I don't know (as many of you describe it) if that's what it takes to get it right.
