Not all of it, mostly due to the difference in accent which takes time to get used to. But I understand most of it. I have seen him in other videos on social network.

I love Taaly, our radios do it from time to time. Radio rural Futa does it all the time.
I am guessing Adamawa fulbe have their taaly too. Story telling is a good way to teach valuable lessons to children.

I wouldn't call this Sokoto Fulfulde as 200 years ago such a thing didn't exist, Fulfulde for the most part didn't really have much variation. I would say this is pure Fulfulde being enunciated and pronounced in a way that ancient Fulfulde/Pulaar would have been pronounced my brother. Modibbo Bashir himself is from Adamawa state (the guy who recited the poem written by Usumanu Bii Foduye).

If you mean by today's standards, then Sokoto.

From what I have listened to on youtube in sokoto fulfulde, it is easier for a futa jallon Pullo to understand.
They have these christian clips on youtube with the different dialects.

You are right, brother.
Adamawa Fulfulde is twisted and obtuse, with a lot of unfamiliar syntaxes.

Alright brother, time to talk about something more important. How do you think fulbe of Africa can standardize the language so that if we write books, it will be comprehensible for all of us.

I think we briefly discussed this before in this thread. The Maasinakooré and Sokoto dialects are very similar. U believe that these dialects are kind of the halfway point for all Fulfulde/Pulaar dialects. We could choose one of those whilst holding onto our own regional Fulfulde/Pulaar dialects. What say you my bros?

Also Bororojo is right, Sokoto Fulfulde is more pure than Adamawa Fulfulde.

by writing books and opening media websites in a centralized dialect that we would all come together to formally agree upon, tweaking it of all foreign influences, unfamiliar terms, and infusing it with the richness of other dialects, till it is just perfect.
That is what the Arabs and internationals do with Arab news websites )which are all in standard classical Arabic)

Finally, maintaining a language board to oversee the growth propagation and continued standardization of the language . All major world languages have boards and dictionaries that keep adding new words and terminologies.

All of these are in the stage/Phase 1

That KJPF video Fulaman posted is an example of what I mean. It could turn into a proper language board, with more members, and continued effort. It has members from different countries ) Cameroun, Guinea, Mali), but I think they all live in Egypt.

Looks like the structure is already in place. What we need is all these small groups to work together and start developping more books that can be useful to the average Pullo. That is usually the hardest with fulbe, considering how much they jealously hold on to their "freedom".

Ibrahima Sarr, a Tukulor from Senegal is working on different books and engineering methodologies in the Pulaar language. As a computer scientist, he has already developed a keyboard for all Fulbe to use in Mozilla Firefox. Some head way is being made. We just need more people to step up

Hello,
Although I am not a Fulbe person myself, I just want to make you aware of the AFRICAN ACADEMY OF LANGUAGES (ACALAN) an
AFRICAN UNION COMMISSION/AGENCY. They have set up Cross-Border Vehicular language commissions for cross-border languages including Fulfulde. Here are the relevant links from ACALAN's website:

Fulfulde, Hausa and Mandenkan Harmonization Workshop: http://www.acalan.org/eng/vcblc/harmonization.php
Fulfulde Commission: http://www.acalan.org/eng/vcblc/cltv_fulfulde.php
Downloadable PLAN OF ACTION OF THE FULFULDE VEHICULAR CROSS-BORDER LANGUAGE COMMISSION: http://www.acalan.org/eng/vcblc/workplan_fulfulde.pdf

If you browse through, you should be able to ascertain the level of harmonisation/standardisation already achieved and if need be. You might even be able to make contributions to the Fulfulde language commission. (@Fulaman198, from your writings I believe you are well versed in the varieties of Fulfulde spoken and written. You would make a very valuable member of the commission).

Note: I do not work for ACALAN I am just an interested African.

I picked it up from my Senegalese cousins when speaking to them on Facebook. It is always interesting being able to speak the Fulani language with a Fulani from another country like yourself Guinea, Mali, Senegal, Mauritania, etc.
