The enemies resident of Nigeria in APC and illiterates will argue that Nigeria is headed the wrong path.

I make bold to say Nigeria has never been better positioned that we are at the moment.

God bless Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and he remains till 2019

Who's the drunk guy at Bloomberg churning out this garbage?

Bloomberg should send a few of its staff on a fact finding mission to Nigeria, hopefully after spending a week, they'd review that ranking.

6th fastest growing economy yet still has one of the highest rates of poverty & unemployment in the world. How do we reconcile this? I guess it 6th fastest growing on paper only.

Even Socrates will struggle to crack this Paradox.

No its simple. Corruption and too many fat cats!

Nigerian Companies that tell their staff they have 'cash flow' problems and cannot pay them this month - but the directors get paid you can bet.

The economy IS rising - no doubt about that but you are quite correct there needs to be more, VERY MUCH MORE, of this economic benefit not FILTERING down to the average Nigeria but FREELY FLOWING down to them.

Let us become industrious and leave government alone to create the environment

The greatest nations in the world emerged from the darkest of times

Nigerians will have a more dignified seat at the table in due course.

This story is proof. Bloomberg does not sell propaganda.

Their founder is a billionaire in dollars like Murdoch. His name is Bloomberg, it's his brand. He won't tarnish it for goodluck or entire Niger Delta region.

They're not making this up.

GEJ is working contrary to the hogwash APC is tryna sell

I am not supporting buhari, nor am i supporting Gej. I am just Apolitical. I agree dis year GeJ has done a lot(including boko).

But Naira is depreciating?

Well it is very complicated and I freely admit to being no economist and expert on all the intricacies but one factor is this: (And I don't know if this is the primary factor or even the start of the depreciating naira but it is a current factor to some degree, great or small)

Nigeria's export is oil. The more you export the more you earn. Oil prices fell so you don't make as much money. To encourage greater sales you must make it easier to buy more. So to encourage exports a country will devalue it currency deliberately OR allow it to depreciate on the world market.

I cant think in dollars only pounds and euros but I remember not so long ago getting about 250n for each pound I had. Today the Bank rate was 312. Im sure a good Mallam would give me 320 if I pressed hard enough.

This makes ALL Nigerian products relative cheaper for outsiders and encourages us to buy.

I am quite sure this explanation is a gross over simplification and very far from being the entire story but is seems to be at least one factor.

Pseudo economics. Nigeria is fast growing but the per capita income when we remove the few business moguls and politicians is as low as can be possibly imagined. We are not fooled, we need CHANGE!

Thanks but feel free to add the other reasons. I am fascinated. From a selfish perspective I benefit as whenever I go to Naija I get paid in Pounds and so have proportionally more spending power!
