I dnt buy the idea of science students being brilliant dan d arts students. I tasted d two department nd I can tel d difference. In sciences, there ar set formulae, u knw wat to use in solvin questions, molecular mass, atomic mass nd d likes. But in d arts dept, they gve u a poem, u break it down, get d points nd no way will ur answer be similar to dat of ur frnd. In science, d highest u can get is 3 different formulars nd ur answers will always be d same, whre is the brilliance in dat?
In d practical aspect, d science triumph cos art has nothing to do wit practicals.

That's why some students perform well in oral test while others do well in writen test.for example, some people can't write songs, sing and still dance while others can only write, some can only sing and yet there are others who can only dance. Intelligence is not all about having good grades in schOol.

it depends on your flair.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a good example, it's just one of Nigeria's stereotyped thinking just the same way they think once a child is exceptionally good, the child must study medicine.

if you good, you're good, be u art or science. A dullard will always be a dullard.

I don't think there is any level at which you can compare both fields. Art is more about expression and creation while science focuses on discovery and application. Some of the worlds smartest folks were/are in the arts e.g the likes of mozart, bethoven etc.
If I were to answer your question, I would say NO cos like I said earlier, the folks in art seek to create new stuff, while the science folks mostly discover what already exsists and then seek to modify it. I do not think that a science student would do better in arts tho, he/she will most likely perform worse. The art student on the other hand might just trump the science student if he/she ventures into science.
