Direction from lagos. fom mile 2, board a bus or taxi going to semi boader. Bus charges #300, taxi charges #600. They would stop you inside one filling station by name, conoil filling station. Then trek front a bit, by the right hand side, you would see a park , go into the park and you would see okada. Those okada's inside the parks are the one's that would cross you the border with out problems as a new cormer. But those that are out side, even they come to the bus that drops you and ask you if you ar
e going. Just ignore them. Then when you are across the border, you would see taxi's that are going to cotonue. They charge 600 cefa. Thanks.
Pls zukafa and knowledgable people in cotonou,I want to travel to cotonou for a while stay for business and I don't have any damn document with me..here are my questions..
*As a first timer, how can I crossover to cotonou without any paper and without being dupped ?

# Will I be molested in the town sometimes by anybody maybe immigration or polce or hoodlums?
# How do they see we nigerians ?
# How is life there ?
# How is there girls as I like busty and big booty girls ?
# How do their girls regard we nigerians ?
# Are there girls greedy, saucy and materialistic like our girls ?
# How do I communicate as I don't hear nor speak french ?
# How much does feeding cost ?
# How much does trans cost per drop ?
Pls guys I need answer to these question one after the other
Thanks a lot

Business and pleasure are two different things.Don't combine business with pleasure or you may not go far.I believe you are matured.Define for yourself what you are going to cotounu for.if it is pleasure face it and if it is business my dear face it and forget pleasure.Take care.

# For tips on how to cross the boarder, read through the thread.
# Have a little identity card with you to show that you are a Nigerian. eg. National id card.
# They see Nigerians as rich people.
# Life is good over there, only if you have money. if you don't have money, very difficult to survive.
# There girls are exactly your spec of girls, na you go run. Just try visit , "John k" for night and you will be satisfied.
# There girls regard Nigerians as rich people ready to spend cash.
# There girls are okay. it depends on what you mean by greedy.
# The language thing is a big problem here, some bikes and people hear english, but you might be duped if they see that you dont hear or understand little french.
# Feeding is quite cheap, but Nigerian meals are on the average or above average.
# Transport is quite cheaper compared to Nigeria.

I hope i have exhausted you questions.

if you have no National Id card, you can still go with your voters card as it stands to identify you as a Nigerian. there are also normal street girls, but how do you then know that she dont sneak out at night for runs. remember that its a french country and they love parties and life.

Hello bro, I just came across this post as I was actually intending to create a thread about the same topic. I noticed the thread is actually old and I have some questions about Cotonou that I'd really appreciate if you can help out. I am thinking of going to Cotonou to stay for 3 months with my wife just to change environment. I stayed in Cotonou in the past but I'm interested to know how things are now.

1) How much is rent per month? I remember that one can pay rent monthly as opposed to the 2years that is enforced on us here in Nigeria

2) What is the current exchange rate?

3) Are their data plans cheap and reliable?

4) What Nigerian banks are available ther? I run accounts with GTbank and Diamond bank and it will be nice to have access to money from over there.

5) If you stay there, I wouldn't mind keeping in touch till I'm ready

Sorry for the epistle, your answers will be most appreciated.

Thank you

You are really doing a great job. I've been to cotonou based on advice and it has really been helpful. Please which other places of interest can I visit and where is John k and if possible what data plan and sub code can I use to subscribe. On my way again to cotonou now for easter. NB: I've visited all the places of interest in this thread on my previous visit
