I don't expect this type of statement from our own Oba, what is his worries ?

Omo Odua ni mi tokan tokan and I don't see the Igbos as the enemy of the Yoruba race.
Eyan mi, To every action there must be an equal and opposite reaction. I think this is just the consequence for their act of calumny. By aligning with the PDP, they have shown to us that they have set out to jeopardize the progress of this great state. This I believe is the reason why the Oba fired those warning shots at them.

Remarkable:

But there are Igbo reps in lagos representing Oshodi and co. ... so how is it Yoruba land as opposed to Nigeria-land (since you don't like 'no man's land'?)

Can a yoruba man win a constituency election in Enugu irrespective of how long he has served that community, if the igbo can not elect their kins-man Ngige out of hatred of SW and North; I rest my case ! The Igbo community should ready themselves for an uncomfortable experience if Jimi wins what is perceived as a disproportionate amount of igbo votes, because JK himself would not be able to guarantee their interest.

I however do no agree with the Oba's method of going about this, he can not force anyone to vote in a certain way. I would however not underestimate Akiolu's threats, I pray those Ndigbo Reps are safe.

nonentity like you will mislead your people and at the end of your foolish manners Lagos will becomes hell for you. You see I understand that we're all Nigerians but we should give respect to some extent to those minorities community that owns the land, in fact what you guys are doing in Lagos no south westerners can try it in any south east region. Those who belongs to generations of history will not forget that ibos are flourishing in North with boom businesses before their greediness catch up with them. I have said it severally to those who cares to listen that ibos that earned a living in Lagos should see themselves as aliens and remain focus on their business, venturing into Lagos politics may attracts evil days and everlasting regret.

^^^If you don't want democracy (warts and all) then let us know.....we can always find an alternative! You may just as well have threatened blacks and Latino immigrants in the US not to vote for Obama so they can respect the wishes of 'the owners of the land'!

When i tell you guys now that we should all really sit down and talk about where we're heading to in this country, some will refuse knowing it would spell an end to all their criminally acquired advantages!

You can't eat your cake and still have it!

If this statement truly emanate from the Oba, I'm definitely voting Agbaje...... Agbaje is also the son of the land who has the right to be voted for.
My broda help me tell dem oo...
Most APC supporters do as if Jimi Agbaje is NOT a yoruba man, nd moreover a pure Lagosain
May because most Igbos R supporting him
Then he is no more yoruba..very Myopic nd Tribalist sad

The first law I learnt on the streets is that no matter how strong you are or how well you can fight, you do not look for trouble away from home, you can defend yourself and quickly find an escape route if need arises.

1. You do not know the nooks and crannys of a strange land.

2. If wahala start and you are outnumbered as surely you will be, how do you escape.

So since these guys have more to loose in potential income and possible destruction of goods if trouble starts, it is not wise to go against your hosts in any form..it is common sense.

And really the Oba has a point, can his people go across the Niger and start telling their hosts that it is no mans land...take it or leave it, it is really disrespectful and no good can come out of it.

Even other Yoruba tribes that are not indegenes of Lagos know their boundaries and limitations.

When Mbu came and started flexing muscles, it did not take long for him to adjust...

What you can't take dont try to give.

I wanted to reply you but changed my mind when i saw that you learnt the law from the street because i would not want to join issues with a street boy.

This ignorant oba has spoken the mind of the ignorant yoruba people. I doubt now more than ever that Nigeria is one. Afterall we have yoruba people voting in Onitsha yet the obi did not tell them what to do. If this oba ever went to school, he has nothing to show for it by his speech. And be reminded sir that igbos make up 45% of Lagos population and have a huge impact on Lagos economy. I just can't imagine what would be left of Lagos if they leave.

Generality of Nigeria problem is education. I look at the voting chat all I see are pointers to areas that we have to improve on education. Education librates a mind and once the mind is liberated then it can think and reason for its self. God bless Nigeria. No one holds ur future its all in ur hand. Make it count.

I served in the south eastern part of the country, Igbos are not as friendly as we are to them, they need to respect the other tribes in Nigeria, the hatred is just too much , They are too tribalistic to even head any government parastatal, Lagos has given igbos more than they can give anyone in their own land, Igbos have a serving commissioner and also key officials in Lagos civil service from PS to directors in Ministries, a lot of Sec./Pry. school principal (state owned) are igbos, we don't discriminate against you guys, Dear Igbos don't bite the fingers that fed you.
Oba has spoken, let is sink into their skulls , Lagos is a Yoruba state not a no mans land, because you are permited to stay due to the friendliness of lagosian, don't take us for granted.
if any Igbo man complains about tax or other policies of this govt, Have a rethink, this policy affect all not the igbos alone, so we should stop the saying that this govt is targeting igbos alone.

Eko oni baje....Eko atesiwaju oooo

you must be a graduate then.
And after NYSC,you still think this way?
My brother, this threat is anti-democratic, and the younger generation shouldn't toe that line. Allow people to cast their vote according to their individual conscience.
Every Nigerian ve a right to stay anywhere in the country, coupled with a right to vote and be voted for anywhere he resides.
What will you say of Ibos that support ambo,or the southerners that voted GMB, or the muslims that voted GEJ, or bayelsans that voted GMB? that is their guaranteed choice. Let us stop taking Nigeria back to the dark ages.

Eko'o onibaje e. On the 2nd January 2015, I saw a vision of a big problem in the land, but none could help out. As all were contemplating over who would handle it, I heard Ifeanyi Agbaje. I further enquired and realised they were Ifeanyi Okowa (of Delta State) and Jimi Agbaje (of Lagos state) could solve these problems. I don't know them personally, but I hereby implore all concerned state indigens to pls Vote for them. God bless you all.

why? Am neither yoruba nor ibo but am asking d ibos to sue 4 peace in any settlement dey find themselves outside their indigenous homes. During my youth service, the ilajes of ondo state wanted to beat me silly becos they thought I was igbo. There was serious rivalry between the ilaje indigenes and ibos

U have a slight point...
Then I think we should bodily say must people DO NOT support "CANDIDATE" the support "PARTY"..
Whic is very evident in Ngige nd Jimi Agbaje's case....
(But I heard most Anambra people-"Esp. the big men" dislike Ngige, hope u knw he was once a Governor nd was impeached/removed, he was NOT in APC then oo)
But Rochas is still loved by most Imolites (don't let most Igbos on Nairaland deceive u, the r just being bitter nd exhibiting bigotry tendencies)

Again I want to say we should not be quick to write off what the US said will happen to Nigeria in 2015 cos 2015 is not over yet. The above riot act might just have sat the ball rolling. Never get carried away with the seeming success if the presidential election. I want to re- iterate that Nigeria will no no peace until we all go our separate ways. Like asari my bro stated, we can only succeed in postponing that evil day but, we cannot prevent it from coming to pass. No not with the current level of hatred we Have for each other!

The Obas are supposed to be non partisan but the Lagos Oba is a real politician. I can understand his fears, because if there is a change of Government, his position would definitely be affected hence his last minute threat to the Igbo. The people should let him realise now that he has no authority in whatever guise to threaten any citizen.
